LOL! Nader: Obama trying to “Talk White,” Appeal to “White Guilt”

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

obama_finger_rednecks.gifThis from ABC News Political Punch

In an interview with the Rocky Mountain News, independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader says the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, is trying to “talk white” by downplaying poverty issues.

Nader — who launched his 5th presidential campaign in February — says the only thing different about Obama from previous Democratic presidential candidates is his race. “I haven’t heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos,” Nader says. “Payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What’s keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white? He doesn’t want to appear like Jesse Jackson? We’ll see all that play out in the next few months and if he gets elected afterwards.”

Asked if he thinks Obama is trying to “talk white,” Nader said, “of course….The number one thing that a black American politician aspiring to the presidency should be is to candidly describe the plight of the poor, especially in the inner cities and the rural areas, and have a very detailed platform about how the poor is going to be defended by the law, is going to be protected by the law, and is going to be liberated by the law,” Nader said. “Haven’t heard a thing.”

Nader also says Obama wants to show he’s not “another politically threatening African-American politician. He wants to appeal to white guilt. You appeal to white guilt not by coming on as black is beautiful, black is powerful. Basically he’s coming on as someone who is not going to threaten the white power structure, whether it’s corporate or whether it’s simply oligarchic. And they love it. Whites just eat it up.”

Regrets for slavery

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008
slavesale1.gifBy Walter Williams - Townhall

Both chambers of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s General Assembly passed a resolution saying government-sanctioned slavery “ranks as the most horrendous of all depredations of human rights and violations of our founding ideals in our nation’s history; and . . . the abolition of slavery was followed by . . . systematic discrimination, enforced segregation, and other insidious institutions and practices toward Americans of African descent that were rooted in racism, racial bias, and racial misunderstanding.” The General Assembly also expressed regret for the “exploitation of Native Americans.”

Isn’t that nice? I agree that slavery was an abomination, but I’m going to be even more generous than Virginia’s General Assembly. I regret the murder of an estimated 61 million people whom the former USSR executed, slaughtered, starved, beat or tortured to death. I also regret the Chinese government’s slaughter of 45 million Chinese; Hitler’s slaughter of 6 million Jews; the Khmer Rouge’s murder of 2 million Cambodians; the half a million Ugandans murdered by Idi Amin’s death squads; the million Hutus and Tutsis murdered in Rwanda’s genocidal bloodbath; and slavery that still exists in the Sudan and Mauritania.

A released inmate walks out of prison in Rwanda’s capital Kigali February 19, 2007. Rwanda on Monday released 8,000 prisoners accused of involvement in the country’s 1994 genocide, prompting anger from survivors of the slaughter who fear new ethnic killings. REUTERS/Arthur Asiimwe (RWANDA) All of these, and many more, are horrible injustices at least as horrible as the slavery that existed in the U.S. But after all the regrets and apologies for injustices, what comes next? Let’s examine Virginia’s statement of regret with an eye toward what it might mean.

White Guilt Doesn’t Help Blacks

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

While listening to Obama’s speech, I thought I would recycle some old posts that cover some of the items contained in his speech.
********

by John Stossel - Human Events

Complaints about racism dominate the media discussion of the disparity between black and white success in America. Comedian Chris Rock captures the prevailing sentiment between both races when he tells white audiences, “None of ya would change places with me and I’m rich! That’s how good it is to be white!”

I’m wondering do you white folks when you wake up look in the mirror and say to yourselves DAMM, it’s good to be WHITE!

I’m also wondering do fatass toothless redneck hillbillies do the same thing? Probable, but with a belch and a fart between DAMM and WHITE. Just kidding folks…Snoops in one of those moods. Continue..

A white author, Tim Wise, gets applause from students on American campuses for talking about “white privilege.” Wise’s message is in huge demand — he does 80 speaking engagements a year. When we taped an appearance at Skidmore College, students of all races praised him as “eloquent,” “phenomenal,” and “so on point.”

But among some black intellectuals a new perspective has emerged, one that puts racism and “white privilege” low on the list of problems plaguing black Americans. Shelby Steele’s latest book, “White Guilt,” argues that whites do blacks no favors wringing their hands about white privilege.

“I grew up in segregation,” Steele said during my interview with him. “So I really know what racism is. I went to segregated school. I bow to no one in my knowledge of racism, which is one of the reasons why I say white privilege is not a problem.”

Steele claims, “the real problem is black irresponsibility,” which has produced high illegitimacy and high-school dropout rates that limit black progress. “Racism is about 18th on a list of problems that black America faces,” he says.

Yes Shenequa buying a cell phone for Rae Rae, gets her credit fucked up when Rae Rae does not pay the cell bill cause he is talking all day to Jelesa Alazae Jenkins his other babies mamma cause she needs diapers for the baby…..sorry continue.

Steele says too many blacks and whites are stuck in the old conversation, as though it was 1950. And he thinks there are questionable motives for this on both sides: “If we can get a big discussion going about what white privilege is, we never have to look at what blacks themselves are doing. And black responsibility. How are we contributing to our own problems? How are we holding ourselves back? Why don’t our children do better in school than they do?”

Cause these kids mamas are out jacking around while the kids are babysitting themselves.
Black kids are too busy being substitute parents they don’t have time to be students and focus on schoolwork.
You white folks are evil, evil I tell you!

Whites’ preoccupation with guilt and compensation such as affirmative action is actually a subtle form of racism, Steele says. “One of the things that is clear about white privilege, and so many of the arguments for diversity that pretend to be compensatory, is that they advantage whites. They make the argument that whites can solve [black people’s] problems. … The problem with that is … you reinforce white supremacy all over again. And black dependency.”

Steele says that when blacks make racism their central focus, they mire themselves in destructive victimization

Snoop has said this many times….but…..anywho carry on…

and sabotage their own chances for advancement.

“White privilege is a disingenuous idea,” he says. In fact, now “there is “minority privilege.”

“If I’m a black high school student today, there are white American institutions, universities, hovering over me to offer me opportunities. Almost every institution has a diversity committee. Every country club now has a diversity committee. I’ve been asked to join so many clubs, I can’t tell you. There is a hunger in this society to do right racially, to not be racist. … And I feel rather privileged by it. I don’t have to even look for opportunities, in many cases, they come right to me,” he adds.

But there is still racism in America. At ABC News I’ve aired hidden-camera video that showed salesclerks spying on black customers, cab drivers passing blacks to pick up whites, landlords lying to blacks about vacancies, and employers favoring white-sounding names. So don’t whites owe blacks compensation for that and for past injustices?

Steele answers, “You owe us a FAIR society. There’s not much you can do beyond that. There isn’t anything you can do to lift my life up. I have to do that.”

“The fact is,” he adds, “we got a raw deal in America. We got a much better deal now. But we can’t access it unless we take … responsibility for getting there ourselves.”

He makes good points. White privilege exists, but it’s not the whole story.

White men hold superdelegate power balance

Friday, February 15th, 2008

oldwhiteguys2.jpg
From the Politico, via Drudge

In an ironic twist to the historic Democratic nominating contest between an African American and a woman, the balance of power may be held by a more familiar face: the white male.According to a Politico analysis, close to half of the 700-plus Democratic superdelegates who could end up determining the party nominee are white men.

One Obama superdelegate, a House member, had sharp criticism for the superdelegate racial and gender make-up, a reaction that reflects the sensitivities surrounding the issue.

“It’s still the old guard, the white men. They always want to control the outcome,” the superdelegate said. “But this time, they won’t be able to do it.”

That strong response could portend a messy intra-party fight in the event that superdelegates cast the decisive votes for the nominee.

Read the rest, but why bother, one way or another, race will find its way into every political or social conundrum.

Man Apologizes for Political Joke

farr2.jpg

“A Greeley Business man who’s political joke caused a worldwide firestorm says he’s sorry but didn’t mean to offend anyone. “

Article Link

I’m so fucken sick of white people apologizing for uttering statements that they really mean I just want to scream.
From Michael Richards to Don Imus to this redneck clown Farr every damm day someone is pressured into apologizing for saying what is really on their minds or airing their true feelings, whether it via a tasteless joke, or throwing a racist party, celebrating a racist icon, dissing a political candidate I mean seriously people let ole Snoop let you crazy ass people off of the proverbial hook. You are under no obligation to feel that a verbal apology is necessary in any circumstance and that includes apologizing to Negros, Jews, Latinos, or any other race, religion whatever.

Most of the racial climate change in this country is due to political action, faux symbolism and hinges on empty words with hollow emotions.
I know most of you feel that great leaps have been made in way of closing the racial gap. If that’s really true, why then do certain folks take every chance they get to bring up racial tension?
Yes, on the outside racism is ‘fixed’. All races can go to the same school, all races can own property, and all races can vote, but the only tension that has been relieved is surface tension. We only socially dress up the issue so that we don’t really have to acknowledge it head on. To continue this charade of being “sorry” would simply be a lie.

I’m just askin, what is this mutherfucker sorry for? The fact that his standing in the community is now in to toilet, respect amongst his peers is greatly diminished, will fewer dollars in his bank account result for his Archie Bunker mentality?
That is the more likely scenario, not that he gives a shit about what Obama or any other black folks think, he likely is never around any black folks nor does business with any.
He does not even have the most basic respect for black people in general. Any white person who engages in telling retarded racist jokes may not necessarily be racist but they damm sure don’t have the most basic of respect for Negros or whatever group is the target of their joke or insensitivity.

Let me run the typical white bylines of I am not a racist because;
I didn’t buy or sell Negros, I didn’t hang any Negros, I didn’t segregate any Negros and I didn’t gas the Jews, I didn’t kill Native Americans, I didn’t put Japanese folks in prison camps, that was the fight of someone else in a different time and has nothing if anything at all to do with me personally.
I doubt that anyone actively strives to gain the label racist, however as far as I’m concerned it is simply a way of thinking, a mode of thought, a point of view.

Being civil to people who may be of another race or religion is a choice we all make it is suppose to be part of what makes us separate from animals.

I find it amusing that those who look down on racist actions and seek to force individuals like Mr. Farr to issue these hollow apologies, do not want the label ‘racist’ affixed to them, they don’t want to be guilty by association.

Take Imus, all kinds of prominent political and other political pundits went on his show, so what happened after the nappy headed hoe comments, all of his perceived homies scattered like rats, because anyone who had been on his show was perceived as guilty by association.

For me I’m very honest about my prejudices, I am hardly a racist, but there are folks of certain religions and certain ethnic groups that I clearly dislike and I don’t give a fuck how people perceive it. Some might say we’re all a little racist, I don’t agree, Mrs. Snoop is likely the least prejudice or racist person on the planet, it’s not in her nature or character, which makes folks wonder why she is married to me. LOL!

Apologies, why are they and insult and ridiculously unnecessary? Because the majority of the time they are not sincere.

If Mr. Farr’s words were not Drudge Report material, he and his words would fade away like any other meaningless news story.
Mr. Farr’s apology simply becomes empty words with no follow through. People who consciously engage in racist humor whether it’s telling MLK jokes, or throwing stereotype MLK parties, constantly tell racist stereotypical jokes, utter Nigger, or call someone Jew bastard simply gives us a true insight into an individuals soul.
Apologizing for simply being who you truly are is just silly.
It may make you feel better, but it’s kinda like seeing someone naked, (I’ve been to a number of nude beaches in Europe) you just can’t get the imagery good or bad out of your head no matter how hard you try.

If you want to be an ignorant bastard, that’s your right, tell your damm jokes. As far as I’m concerned find the bullshit apology far more offensive that the initial joke or insult.

US state of New Jersey mulls slavery apology

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

newark.jpg

From The Raw Story

The US state of New Jersey is to weigh apologizing for its role in the slave trade, under a bill to be considered by lawmakers Thursday, more than 200 years after the state abolished the practice. If approved, the bill would make New Jersey the fifth US state to issue such an apology but the first among the northern anti-slavery states that formed the Union side in the US civil war from 1861-1865.

The text of the bill “expresses New Jersey’s profound regret for its role in slavery and apologizes for wrongs inflicted by slavery and its after effects in the United States.”

The “slave states” of Alabama, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia apologized last year for their slave-trading past. Maryland, however, fought on the northern side in the war.

New Jersey became the last northern state to abolish slavery in 1804, but the gradual law meant that the practice was not completely eradicated there until 1846, while slavery was not officially abolished nationwide until 1865.

Former (Black) president Bill Clinton expressed his “regrets” over the US role in the slave trade and President George W. Bush described it as “one of the greatest crimes of history,” but there has never been an official US government apology.

I’m sorry but I can’t pass up a chance to post ridiculous nonsense like politicians and gubments issuing these jackass apologies for slavery.
I found this particular proposed apology from New Jersey particularly amusing.
One of the most crime ridden, drug infested ghetto cesspools of Negrodom areas in the country will take the time to apologize for slavery while operating one of the most corrupt state gubments in the country.
Clean the fucken streets, educate and find black folks jobs. I’m so sick of these bullshit pandering apologies. I’m sure some crazy old Negro activist is pushing this, only old tired former civil rights retreads find these asinine slavery apologies heart warming.
Our own idiot fuck Senator Sam Brownback promised such a resolution if he were president.
Yes liberal black folks like to be pandered too, throw dem a few bones and some figurative political table scraps and any liberal politician can guarantee winning some votes.
But I still say if you people want to send me a gubment check for my “non” participation in slavery, shit I’ll take it. The Negro part of my background will appreciate it.

Re-Education Camps Inside Our Universities

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

university1.jpg

Found on the blog Flopping Aces,  amazing!

I read this piece and I had to doublecheck to see if it didn’t come from The Onion.  I find it hard to believe that this can be happening in the United States.  What will come next?  Hauling students off to the gulag who refuse to be “re-educated?”

The University of Delaware subjects students in its residence halls to a shocking program of ideological reeducation that is referred to in the university’s own materials as a “treatment” for students’ incorrect attitudes and beliefs.

The Orwellian program requires the approximately 7,000 students in Delaware’s residence halls to adopt highly specific university-approved views on issues ranging from politics to race, sexuality, sociology, moral philosophy, and environmentalism. The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) is calling for the total dismantling of the program, which is a flagrant violation of students’ rights to freedom of conscience and freedom from compelled speech…The university’s views are forced on students through a comprehensive manipulation of the residence hall environment, from mandatory training sessions to “sustainability” door decorations.

Students living in the university’s eight housing complexes are required to attend training sessions, floor meetings, and one-on-one meetings with their Resident Assistants (RAs). The RAs who facilitate these meetings have received their own intensive training from the university, including a “diversity facilitation training” session at which RAs were taught, among other things, that “[a] racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality.”

The university suggests that at one-on-one sessions with students, RAs should ask intrusive personal questions such as “When did you discover your sexual identity?” Students who express discomfort with this type of questioning often meet with disapproval from their RAs, who write reports on these one-on-one sessions and deliver these reports to their superiors. One student identified in a write-up as an RA’s “worst” one-on-one session was a young woman who stated that she was tired of having “diversity shoved down her throat.”

More proof that white liberals types are a bunch of ignorant asses

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

This piece was written by some liberal idiot dumbass Sheldon Drobny found on the Puffington Post via Conservative Grapevine.

I can’t tell you how many idiot ass white people I have read over the past several days that keep writing these stupid ass articles about Michael Vick repeating this ridiculous notion that DOGFIGHTING IS PART OF THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN CULTURE.

What fucken planet are you idiots getting this from?
Dog fighting is no more part of the Negro culture than is baggy pants, parking on the lawn, 40’s, hair weaves and press on nails.

Before any more of you dumbass white people keep spreading this bullshit nonsense, try having a conversation with a Negro who is not from the hood, at least a graduate from high school, employed, wearing a belt and is not named after a major kitchen appliance, a car or some faux “African” sounding name ending with “quan.”

I am a dog lover and have adopted and rescued abused dogs. I believe that inhumane treatment to animals is counter to the best interests of our society. On the other hand, I do believe in proportionate justice and the Michael Vick case is a horrible example of disproportionate justice against blacks and its consequences could be profound.dumbassshelly.JPGThere are many cultures in the world that accept and promote cruelty to animals. In some countries of Hispanic origin, bullfighting is promoted as a national sport. And dogs are eaten in some Asian countries.

It is my understanding that dog fighting is part of the African-American culture despite the fact that it is a federal crime. That does not make it right, but it does explain in part Vick’s participation in this event.

President Bush commuted the sentence of Irving “Scooter” Libby for crimes he committed knowingly which compromised our national security. Surely he could find it in his heart to use the same rationalization for commuting Libby’s sentence. If Libby paid enough of a price for his crime, surely Vick should be given the same consideration since he has lost his over $125 million and his career.

Cult of athlete warped Vick’s values

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

vick2.jpg

This is one article where I don’t have to even comment on because after you read it you too will roll your eyes and say to yourself “what the fuck!?”

It’s clear that the dude who wrote this article was on crack. No seriously, he was. Besides he is not even original.

Pick your typical idiot Negro superstar athlete and insert name in place of Vick’s.

Poor black kid, yada, yada, yada… single mother, high school dropout, growing up in da hood, around crime, gangs, drugs lots of gold teeth, baggy pants, pit bulls, hair weaves, gin and juice…er uh crunk juice. Yawn.

Reason #4,115 it’s whiteys fault Vick is going to jail.

By Shaun Powell - NY Newsday

Michael Vick is not guilty. No, really, in one sense, despite his plea yesterday, this is the wrong guy.

For months, investigators circled their wagons around the Falcons quarterback with the intensity of blitzing linebackers and implied that Vick masterminded the slaughtering of dozens of dogs who couldn’t cut it in the ring. They cut deals with members of Vick’s posse, who snitched about those brutal dogfights held on his spread in Virginia. Vick, the feds believe, created this.

But who created Vick?

Who gave power and money and influence to someone who has done nothing, other than sling a football, to deserve it?

Who failed to teach him right from wrong, or the importance of making good choices, when they had the chance?

Who unleashed, pardon the expression, Vick on those dogs and turned him into a national disgrace?

Those are the real guilty people. If the feds are correct about Vick’s role, then those people also helped strangle and shoot and drown animals that in essence were poisoned by a man who was poisoned himself long ago.

Personal accountability is definitely in order here, make no mistake. What Vick did was heartless and he should do time. But he’s a symptom of something larger and troubling: a young man led down the wrong path by an upbringing that wasn’t exactly “Leave It to Beaver”; by his “boyz” who leeched off him instead of living their own lives; by a celebrity-inhaling society that elevated him to a god and by a sports league loaded enough to give him a $130-million contract.

Vick didn’t build a cruel kennel with just the help of a couple of buddies; he had help from tons of people, the ones who made him who he is, the ones who shaped his character.

He wasn’t a spoiled, immature and misguided animal abuser from birth. Actually, he was exactly like your child: an innocent sponge, ready to absorb the world around him. Except his world was probably a lot different from the one you exposed to your child.

He was born to a mother who was still in high school, and by the time Brenda Vick was 21, she had four kids. She was a baby with babies, not unusual in poor black America today. How could she teach them about life when she hadn’t experienced life herself? How could she watch her kids when she had to work enough jobs to feed them? Plus, she raised them in the projects, where too many influences are bad.

This was the incubator where Vick’s values and morals were shaped. These were the circumstances that also ruined his younger brother, Marcus, who later would be kicked off the team at Virginia Tech for stomping on another player’s leg and who once was charged with pointing a gun at a group of kids.

Vick was a great athlete in high school and a superstar at Virginia Tech, where football fever runs high and football players - especially the special ones - are treated like they’re, well, special. The coddling of Michael Vick intensified when he arrived in Atlanta as the savior of the Falcons. Interestingly, during a “Monday Night Football” promo a few years ago, Vick was asked what was the best thing about being Michael Vick.

“V-I-P wherever I go,” he exclaimed.

The Falcons gave him a monster contract and essentially handed him the keys to the organization, if not the city. But being rich and famous doesn’t necessarily hide all the character flaws, and Vick had a few. He used his middle fingers to salute the home fans last season. He was charged by a woman with giving her a disease. There was the water bottle incident at the Miami airport this year. He showed a pattern of irresponsibility. And in every misstep until now, the Falcons covered for him, excused his behavior, looked the other way.

Vick also loved the gangsta culture that uses pit bulls as status symbols. He surrounded himself with buddies from back home, some with rap sheets, and bankrolled them. They played by their rules and amused themselves with dogfights that claimed plenty of canine victims.

But you tell me:

Born to a teenage mother, raised in the projects, consumed by a negative culture, back-slapped by vulture “friends” and elevated by a sports-mad society, who’s the real Vick-tim here?

And who’s really guilty?

Study searches for cost of being black

Friday, July 13th, 2007

blackface5.jpgI’ll just post the story, I choose not to even comment on this.
Study finds that whites are blind to cost of being black

Elizabeth Slightam - Ohio State University - Link

Researchers said they found a $10,000 answer to a priceless question in a recent study: What is the cost of being black? The study, conducted by researchers at Ohio State, Harvard and Georgia Southern University, found that white people are unaware of the complexities of being black.

The researchers asked the participants, who were white Americans of different ages, questions such as how much they would need to be paid to have television completely taken away from them for the rest of their lives. The majority of people said about $1 million.

Comparatively, they were asked how much they would need to be paid to be black for the rest of their lives. The majority answer to that question was less than $10,000.

Some students said the participants requested accurate amounts. Brooke Davis, a junior in pre-health information management and systems, said the participants requested amounts similar to what she would have requested.

“If I were asked how much it costs to be white, I would probably request about the same amount,” she said.

Davis said she thinks it is difficult to measure the costs of being any race. Where you live and how you were brought up are important in determining one’s disparities, she said.

Co-author of the study and OSU alumna Mahzarin Banaji, said the study was intended to determine why white people are disinclined to support reparations for the descendants of slaves. Banaji is now a professor at Harvard University.

According to the study, people who did request large amounts of money generally supported reparations for descendants of slaves.

Banaji said the findings were surprising: “White Americans are blind to the cost of being black.”

The findings might not stem from white Americans trying to repress the group, but rather from their ignorance of black disparities, she said.

Phil Mazzocco, another co-author of the study and psychology professor at OSU’s Mansfield branch, said the results are most likely because white people are completely unaware of the everyday struggles blacks face. These struggles range from massive disadvantages in job opportunities, income wealth and treatment by the justice system, he said.

“In general, the findings show that most white Americans are simply uneducated when it comes to the disparities,” he said. “Once people are aware of them, they’ll most likely support reparations.”

The researchers plan to do follow-up studies with the participants and with other social groups such as women and Asian Americans.

Brief History of America by Michael Moore

Ok I had seen this clip before some time ago, but I did not know that Oprah actually played this crazy clip on her show AND the white folks in the audience actually applauded at the end.
You mean white folks are actually that guilt ridden to watch this and say to themselves “gee we is some fucked up people, shame on us”
Oh man liberal white folks are hilarious.
