I don’t want to sound like an ad–a public service ad on TV–but the fact is that if you can read you can walk into a job later on. If you don’t then you got the Army, Iraq, I don’t know, something like that. It’s not as bright. So that’s my little commercial for that.
King thinks the troops stationed in Iraq are illiterate, uneducated people who couldn’t get jobs in the U.S. Nice. Real nice.
“They are so clearly a cut above America,” Bill Carr, acting deputy undersecretary of defense for military personnel policy, said of today’s recruits.
Carr bristles when he hears unfounded charges that the men and women entering the military are less educated, less affluent or less likely than other 18- to 24-year-olds to have alternatives to military service. Rather, a combination of volunteerism and commitment to service is prompting young people to enlist, Carr said, noting that a measure of shrewdness plays into their decision. “They are planning their future and considering what part we can play in it,” he said.
Carr likes to think of himself as a “myth buster,” helping break stereotypes he said are flat-out wrong and cheat servicemembers out of the pride they’ve earned and deserve.
”In a democracy, I realize you don’t need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels,” he said over the weekend, responding to a question from an Israeli journalist who noted that Mr. Carter had been snubbed by most of Israel’s top leadership and reprimanded by its president, Shimon Peres. “When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that’s the dictator, because he speaks for all the people.”–
Jimmy Carter Yup, that’s what he said. The dictator “speaks for all the people.”
“They like this war. They want this war to continue,” Pelosi, a Democrat, told reporters. “We thought that they shared the view of so many people in our country that we needed a new direction in Iraq,” she said. “But the Republicans have made it very clear that this is not just George Bush’s war. This is the war of the Republicans in Congress.”Pelosi was asked about the comment during a later appearance on the The Newshour with Jim Lehrer. She backed off — a bit — by saying:
Well, when I said like, I used a poor choice of words. The fact is: They support this war. They support the president’s execution of it, even though any objective observer of it would say that a war that we’ve been in much longer — more than a year longer — than we were in World War II, going in on a false pretense without a strategy for success, without a reason to stay, against the wishes of the American people does not deserve the support of the Congress of the United States.
Not all Democrats in Congress bother to be subtle about their hostility toward our culture, and their eagerness to pander to those who share that hostility.A few weeks ago Congress passed a resolution recognizing the brutal terrorist cult Islam as “one of the great religions of the world” and honoring Ramadan. It passed unanimously.
Then came a resolution with similar wording, honoring Christmas, and decrying violence against Christians around the world. Nine Congresskooks were bold enough in their depravity to vote against it:
Gary Ackerman (D-NY)
Yvette Clarke (D-NY)
Diana DeGette (D-CO)
Alcee Hastings (D-FL)
Barbara Lee (D-CA)
Jim McDermott (D-WA)
Robert Scott (D-VA)
Pete Stark (D-CA)
Lynn Woolsey (D-CA)
Ten others voted “present”; here’s a surprise: one of them (Mike Pence of Indiana) isn’t a Democrat.
Presumably all of these characters have more Christians in their districts than Muslims. Whoever they’re representing, it isn’t the misguided voters who put them in office.
Y’all know I’m very much a Republican and I have ranted often about how screwed up Democrats are and why all of us Republicans need to work hard at keeping as many of these Democrat jackasses out of office as possible.
I heard Tom Brokaw on a radio interview talking about how we need to abandon partisan politics and come together in peace and harmony put our political positions aside for the sake of the nation.
Is Tom on crack? Seriously, is there anyone out there reading this post that actually thinks that abandoning YOUR political ideology and core principals is a good thing? And substitute them for what?
Let me tell you, the notion that I could somehow, alter my political leaning to become more “tolerant” of Democrats and their views “for the sake of the nation” is just retarded.
The post above is one of many examples of why I find the majority of liberal Democrats repugnant.
Democrats routinely sacrifice the safety, security and core American values that make this nation great, simply for political gain. Democrats actually take pride in; bashing and maligning our military, attacking core Christian values, catering to elements that actively seek to destroy this nation i.e. wiping the collective asses of radical Islamic types.
Democrats are proficient in promoting race baiting politics, poverty pimping, loathing capitalism; they fight harder to protect American trees rather than the American people, they actually believe we are not taxed enough and they are successful at promoting the notion that they and only they are the champions of promoting civil rights and
Democrats have a perpetual hard on for increasing bureaucracy.
I don’t know about you, but I want Democrats to lose, I want them relegated to the back of the political ideological bus forever.
Tom Brokaw and anyone else preaching this political reconciliation bullshit needs to start paying attention to the stupid shit Democrats say and do every damm day.
Is there any doubt that Tom Harkin is a MoveOn.org Democrat?None. None at all.Harkin attacking Rush Limbaugh on the Senate floor:
Well, I don’t know. Maybe he was just high on his drugs again. I don’t know whether he was or not. If so, he ought to let us know. But that shouldn’t be an excuse.
In 2002, Senator Harkin gave a nationally televised and controversial eulogy for Senator Paul Wellstone, a close ally in the Senate who perished in a plane crash 11 days before his potential re-election. In the eulogy, Harkin urged the crowd to “stand up for Paul” and talked about “passing on Paul’s legacy” and to win the 2002 Senate election “For Paul” — statements that drew loud cheers and were interpreted by some as overt political references and inappropriate for a memorial service.
While running for his Senate seat in 1984, and again while running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1992, Harkin has faced criticism for claiming that he had flown combat missions over North Vietnam. In a 1979 round table discussion with other Congressional Veterans, Harkin said of his service as a Navy pilot: “One year was in Vietnam. I was flying F-4s and F-8s on combat air patrols and photo-reconnaissance support missions”. These comments were later published in a 1981 book by David Broder. After subsequent inquiries by Barry Goldwater and The Wall Street Journal, Harkin clarified that that he had been stationed in Japan and sometimes flew recently repaired aircraft on test missions over Vietnam. His service flying F-4s and F-8s was later, while he was stationed in Cuba. References to this controversy were deleted from Wikipedia by staffers from Harkin’s senate office.
In June 2001, the Des Moines Register reported that Senator Harkin had “inadvertently omitted” $200,000 in Conoco stock owned by his wife Ruth and some $15,000 owned by their daughter Amy on his Senate financial statement.
In 2003/2004 Harkin remained neutral in the race for the Democratic nomination for president, until 11 days before the Iowa caucus, when he endorsed Vermont Governor Howard Dean. Dean was then considered the front runner, but his support plummeted in the final week and he finished a weak third, twenty points behind the winner John Kerry. Harkin stood behind Dean as the Governor delivered his now infamous “Scream” speech on the night of his defeat. Some criticized Harkin for jumping on the Dean bandwagon, while he admitted to some that Missouri Congressman Richard Gephardt was actually his favorite candidate. Harkin soon distanced himself from Dean and urged him to drop out of the race.
In September of 2006 Senator Harkin commented on Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s September 20th 2006 United Nations speech in which Chavez referred to President George Bush as the devil. Senator Harkin said that while Chavez’s comments were “incendiary,” he could “… understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush’s policies”.
In September of 2007, Harkin demanded apology from General Pace - the week before Pace’s military retirement - for condemning homosexuality and adultery in the military (remember his “Roman Catholic” designation). After Pace mentioned that the UCMJ prohibits both of these activites, Harkin voiced his desire to have the code changed to accommodate homosexuality and adultery. (AP, Sept 27, 2007)
Have you heard about the latest “controversy” involving Rush Limbaugh that has been made up from scratch by Media Matters and relentlessly promoted by the left side of the blogosphere? Well, no worries, I’ll tell you all about it.Here’s what Media Matters is claiming Rush Limbaugh said, Limbaugh: Service members who support U.S. withdrawal are “phony soldiers.”
Now, you might actually conclude from reading that headline that Rush Limbaugh said that, Service members who support U.S. withdrawal are “phony soldiers.”
Actually, he didn’t.
Once again, here’s the headline, from Media Matters,
Limbaugh: Service members who support U.S. withdrawal are “phony soldiers.”
Continue reading here what Rush Limbaugh actually said, during a conversation with a caller. Also go to his site Rushlimbaugh.com if you REALLY give a shit.
Ah hell I was not sure I wanted to post this, but since dude on Right Wing did a piece on this “phony” outrage, I figured my Poop readers should get the 411.
You know while on one hand I really getting tired of Media Matters and their blatant distortion of the facts on shit they have on their site, I kinda understand why they do what they do and why they are so successful at smear.
I heard on Rush’s show some of the comments made by some liberal Democrats denouncing what Rush said, I always have to remind myself that Democrats and liberals are never interested in truth, it’s simply about winning and Media Matters knows that the majority of their kook constituents only priority is getting their people in office at all costs.
Now don’t get me wrong, the purpose of this blog is to post stuff that interests me and my political views and yes, I want “my side to win.”
But I have never knowingly posted 411 here that I knew was bullshit just so I can make a fucking cheep political point.
Democrats must use deception to stay in power, but the scary thing is it works like a charm.
I’m dumbfounded at how many websites posted bullshit about O’Reilly and how they took his comments out of context when after reading further, few if any actually read or heard the comments themselves.
I’m perplexed at the vast differences in simple logic between the right blogsphere and the left.
Blogger on the right, in most cases go out of their way to get to the bottom of a story or issue and actively seek to get as much firm details on an issue as possible and the rarely comment and post shit unless they have their fucken facts straight.
Media Matters has these crackpot liberals by the mental ballz. It’s apparent that liberals can’t process information unless it has been pissed on by Media Matters.
Here are a few examples:
(link) Media Matters for America is calling attention to a Rush Limbaugh rant from his show on Wednesday in which he dismisses U.S. troops, including those now serving in Iraq, who disagree with President Bush’s stay-until-victory strategy as “phony soldiers.” And my colleague Jeff Fecke at Blog of the Moderate Left wonders whether those, including Sen. Norm Coleman, who were outraged by the MoveOn.org ad that was insufficiently respectful toward Gen. David Petraeus, will bring equal energy to denouncing Limbaugh for being insufficiently respectful toward some of the troops.
*********
(link) Following the MoveOn non-controversy, some of our local dingbats went on a largely unnoticed mini-crusade to get WA-08 Congressional candidate Darcy Burner to condemn the anti-war organization’s ad. Now that Rush Limbaugh has said something that was considerably more offensive to our men and women in uniform, we’re certain that Mark Gardner and the rest of the fair and balanced wingnutosphere will demand WA-08 Congressman Dave Reichert condemn Limbaugh’s remarks.
Earlier today Republican hero and recovering drug addict Rush Limbaugh slandered thousands of American soldiers who are risking their lives overseas as “phony soldiers.” Why? Solely because they question the rationale for the Iraq War.
*****
(link) How about leading conservative host Rush Limbaugh, a man who has regularly interviewed the president, vice-president, and numerous other conservative Republican luminaries?
During the September 26 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh called service members who advocate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq “phony soldiers.”
From the DCCC:
Chairman Chris Van Hollen Condemns Rush Limbaugh’s Outrageous Comment that Soldiers Who Support Withdrawing From Iraq Are “Phony Soldiers”
“Rush Limbaugh’s personal attack on our men and women in uniform is reprehensible. It minimizes the sacrifice our troops in Iraq and their families are making and has no place in the public discourse. Rush Limbaugh owes our military and their families an apology for his hurtful comments that minimize their service to our country.”
******
(link) John Amato: “I’m calling on the Senate to pass an amendment or uphold their latest one and condemn Rush Limbaugh’s cowardly acts on our troops! Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne in Iraq wrote a NY Times op-ed—criticizing the war in Iraq, and had the bravery to suggest that it was time to develop an exit strategy. Two of them just died. Are they phonies, Rush? Where’s the “sense of the Senate” on this outrage?
Let me be clear, I don’t give a shit that you oppose the U.S. being in Iraq, or oppose our Middle East policy, or how we use our troops or what our military priorities should be.
When I read lefty blog I’m interested in the discourse many provide and of course I don’t agree with much of it, but I think it’s important for me to be knowledgeable on issues and to remain grounded in my viewpoints I have an obligation (to myself) to be informed, understand and comprehend opposing viewpoints without filters. Whether it’s Media Matters or the MSM, John Stewart, Keith Olberman on the left, Newsbusters, Rush, O’Reilly on the right.
Especially since I dedicate so much time keeping up this paltry blog
Through my extensive blog reading on the right and left, watching the MSM, watching a lot of You Tube and taking in countless other political information sources I have a pretty fair grasp on the world around me and one thing that Rush taught me when I first started listening to his show (from day one) and why no other on air pundit comes close to him is he encourages his listeners to seek out the truth. Don’t simply take his word on issues, read and hear the bullshit on the left for yourself.
You should never be afraid at seeking opposing viewpoints and listening to opposing viewpoints.
This is why people who say they don’t watch Fox News are cowards and tells you everything you need to know about them intellectually.
I would never EVER, encourage anyone NOT to listen to a MSM network, a liberal talk show host, or a source like the NY Times, it’s not even logical.
Far too many people are just too fucken lazy to seek the truth on issues and choose to allow their minds to be filtered.
This is not about “standing up for” Rush, dude is a fucken multi-millionaire, he could care less what I think.
This is about simple honesty. If the goal of the left and lefty blogsphere is simply to WIN then by all means distort, lie, manipulate, conceal. Ignorance is obviously bliss in the liberal world.
The recent assault, torture and arrest of University of Florida student Andrew Myer by campus cops is but the latest example of what has become an increasingly frequent phenomenon in the United States of America. When ass-kissing chickenshit David Petraeus lied his ass off before Congress about the failed “surge”, capitol hill police tackled and arrested a pentecostal minister, damaging his ankle in the process. His “crime”? Trying to get in to watch and listen to the hearings.
As reported in the Nation magazine, sixty-year old Carol Trainer — a Vietnam veteran — was arrested and hauled away as the mayor of Louisville, Kentucky sat and glared at her.
Last November, a student at UCLA was assaulted, tasered and arrested by campus cops, for failing to show his identification. A blogger who wrote about this abuse of power also pointed out how, in Houston, Texas that same month, a bunch of striking union workers were trampled by police on horseback, arrested, and subjected to what amounts to torture.
If you think America isn’t undergoing the same slide into fascist dictatorship today as Germany did in the 1930s, you’re kidding yourself. Each of the six examples of police brutality I cited, all of them against nonviolent students and protesters, has taken place within a roughly ten-month period. But where is the outrage in the mainstream media? Why aren’t the steps of the Capitol Building and the gates of the White House being flooded with protesters demanding accountability for abuses of executive power that has so permeated society that it infects our local police departments?
And therein lies one reason why this is happening. Although there has been some dissent, some outrage, it has been largely confined to the blogosphere and political discussion forums. People dare not stand up publicly against these police state tactics to silence dissent. They dare not risk being beaten down. Another reason, pointed out by the Rude Pundit, is that there are those in American society who not only actually approve of this shit, but go so far as to cheer it on! “Yeah!” they think. “Show them what they get for stepping out of line!”
Those two reasons, more than the brutal assaults on people and the First Amendment, are why America is devolving into a bad replay of Nazi Germany. The lack of national outrage, to the point we do something about it; and the support of it by mindless groupthinkers in society who are so stupid they think it’s a good thing that we’re being subjected to tyranny.
God help us all.
Warning! Snoop rant:
Ok this is funny, after reading this it reminded me of Ahmadinejad’s recently completed incoherent propaganda rant.
All hell, how many times and how many ways can I say “liberals have issues!”
Again this is an example of not necessarily giving a shit about what this moronic dude has to say only to point out the exorbitant level of ill logic exhibited by these people.
The bad thing about the Daily Kos site these days is there are so many of these people writing diaries and I believe that in order to get noticed they write crazier and zanier entries ranting like little children in order to get attention.
It’s one thing to have a valid political point, it is quite another to pull out the vestiges of a truly evil time period where the shadow of a murderous dictator loomed over the entire world.
Here we have some young jackass supposedly educating the rest of us dolts, no doubt living with his parents or barricaded in some college dorm or dank dark apartment complete with video games galore and no doubt the latest Halo, stale pizza, cigarette butts acting as carpeting reeking with the stench of your typical discharge accident from too much alcohol consumption.
I’m a 43 year old black man and it would be disingenuous of me to write entries talking about the evils that existed back in the true Jim Crow era, whites only signs, segregated hotels, restaurants, drinking fountains or to try and process the pending threat that was Hitler and communism.
How the fuck could some young mentally challenged individual even begin to process the notion that America is slipping into this fascist state, when I just finished watching some pinhead moronic dictator speak at one of this nations most prestigious universities not to mention that the event was simulcast on FOX NEWS!
The University of Florida student was a prankster and a typical college aged jackass, brash, arrogant spoiled pricks. I see all too often these self-absorbed frat boy sorostitutes types wandering the university grounds, cell phones stuck to the ear paying little or no attention to the world around them or that car about the strike them.
This generation of emotionally challenged individuals find it difficult to respect those outside of their entourage.
As much as I detest John Kerry, he and that audience deserved respect, but college aged pranksters have hindered free speech by acting like a bunch of ignorant fucks which is precisely why few right leaning types venture to college campuses anymore.
Foolish and moronic behavior is the norm.
Here in Lawrence we have an institution where national and world leaders not to mention prominent political figures and Pulitzer Prize winning columnists regularly speak and the only time you see students attending is when they are offered “extra credit” or some incentive for attending.
When the speaker does not fit the typical liberal ideology the talk is ether ignored or some phony protest with the stereotypical passing out of “fact” sheets with erroneous information.
Liberals are not interested in acquiring knowledge only promoting their twisted spin on the world and crying when the would does not fit in their little bow wrapped gift box.
I’ll give you one example: Recently while speaking to a student, very nice young lady, smart, motivated in the process of getting her masters, we were discussing Iraq and setting aside the particulars the point I want to focus on was she said she “hated George Bush for getting us into this war.”
Now I never want to get into a debate on the semantics of whether or not we should or should not be in Iraq with folks, what I always focus on when speaking to a young person is “when does your history on Iraq begin?”
You see to me if you want to tell me we should not have been in Iraq, and only want to focus on the history while G Dub has been in office and totally ignore anything prior to G Dub taking office, there is nothing to discuss.
This young lady is 24 and knows nothing about what was said prior to Bush’s presidency.
There are tons of clips on You Tube feature Mrs. Bill’s ever changing stance on Iraq and virtually every Democrat morphing views on the issue.
All I asked of her was to truly study the issue. While listening to her all she could do was regurgitate Democrat clichés, she was ridiculously clueless on the issue other that what she read in the New York Times (she said it) or what was discussed in her political science class.
The point is do liberal choose to be ignorant of all the facts. Many choose not to acknowledge what was said before or simply choose to only put political blame on a policy that no one individual can carry out.
Liberals selective ranting is all political. Think about it. If you believe in gay marriage and you somehow think that by berating the current president on an issue that you really don’t give a shit about, can get you closer to electing an individual with your political values, then why not join the “Iraq is wrong, impeach Bush” bullshit.
Who cares if pussy ass Democrats doesn’t have the balls to stop funding.
Bottom line when you read liberals rant about whatever, you always have to ask yourself what is their real motive?
Referring to a 4 star general as an “ass-kissing chickenshit” tells you everything you need to know about the absence of logic that exists in the minds of most young liberals today.
This dude is unlikely to give a shit about the growing fascist state of America while attending a pep rally for his favorite college sports team or licking the tequila and salt off the stomach of some skank in a bar.
Keep in mind that the Democrats actually courts this twisted moronic demographic.
Wizbang: “This is What Happens When You Give Children a Blog”
Monday, September 17th, 2007
This is from Wizbang, Basically this is commentary about a leftist moonbat blogger making excuses about the Move on ads.
This is typical liberal crap I know but I can’t help posting examples of twisted liberal logic, it tis always so entertaining.
It’s really sad to see children try to pretend they can keep up with adults in the arena of ideas. Take the ever talkative Larkin from Wizbang Blue who tries to put in his two cents about the “General Betray Us” ad. It seems in Larkin’s world view, the General brought it on himself.
Such attacks were predictable given the General’s apparent acquiescence in becoming the chief spokesman for the White House in what should be an entirely political debate (i.e., no generals invited) centered on the the question of the continued involvement of US forces in Iraq.
After all, in America, it’s rule by the people, not the generals. And the people’s representatives, the 435 members of the House, the 100 members of the Senate, and the President should be the ones to decide how many troops we will keep in Iraq and for how long. The input of the generals is of course informative and essential, but it should be funneled through the proper channels, namely the civilian leader of America’s impressive war-making machine, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.
Gates should have been the one to deliver testimony on the state of our mission in Iraq on Capitol Hill last week, not Petraeus.
Freshman Rep. Nancy Boyda (D.-Kan.), one of the GOP’s top targets in 2008, couldn’t stomach hearing about progress in Iraq during House Armed Services Committee testimony last month. Frustrated and agitated by the remarks of retired Gen. Jack Keane, Boyda walked out of the hearing room only to return 10 minutes later to ridicule the architect of the surge strategy.Judging from Boyda’s behavior at last month’s hearing, she just might blow a gasket today if she reads the article in USA Today about the 50% decline in major attacks since the troop surge strategy began. (Linked by Pejman Yousefzadeh earlier this afternoon.)
Keane, the man Boyda berated in July, is quoted in the article, saying that U.S. forces have gained momentum from the enemy. Yet don’t expect Boyda to acknowledge the progress. Her spokeswoman said last month after the fiasco that she’s “frustrated with how the administration is handling the war.”
I suspect the real reason you won’t hear Democrats acknowledge progress in Iraq is that any good news is bad news for them. Their political success at home depends on failure in Iraq. That’s why Boyda didn’t want to hear about it in July and why she probably won’t acknowledge it now.
From Moonbattery, Although I’m not surprised when I hear Democrats say really stupid shit anymore you think the people in Murtha’s inner circle would tell him “dude, shut the fuck up!, seriously just shut the hell up, not only for yourself but the party as well”
Are politicians like Murtha really that out of touch with reality, or is he seriously losing his fucken mind?
***
It may no longer be possible for Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) to hit new lows. But that’s no reason for him to stop trying. Now he’s blaming the plot to blow up JFK Airport not on the Islamic jihad against Western Civilization, but on America’s efforts to defend democracy from terrorists in Iraq. Bellowed Abscam Jack:
Our presence in Iraq, our occupation of Iraq gives these people the inspiration.
Terrorism is inspired by resistance to terrorism. That’s why Murtha is “absolutely convinced the first step to stability in Iraq is redeployment” — i.e., retreating and ceding Iraq to the terrorists.
He’s right of course; if we just give up instead of defending civilization, eventually there won’t be any more terrorism — just a whole lot of severed heads and women shuffling around in burkas… and not only in Iraq.
That vermin like Murtha continue to be elected regrettably indicates that al-Qaeda’s low opinion of us has some justification.
In spite of what the polls supposedly tell us, I strongly suspect that the Democrats may already have blown the 2008 election. Unlike the late Senator Aiken of Vermont, who proposed that we declare victory and get out of Vietnam, the Democrats want us to declare defeat and get out of Iraq. This, they imagine, is what the American people were demanding in the congressional election of 2006.
But it seems far more likely that the message of that election was not “Get out,” but rather “Win, or get out.” In any case, the position the Democrats are now taking can only have the effect of revivifying and reinforcing the sense of them as weak on national security. And this was the very factor that led to the ignominious defeat of their presidential candidate, George McGovern, in 1972, when they also misread the public temper by paying too much attention to the left wing of their party.
Joe Lieberman spanked Harry Reid over the weekend. Will any other Democrat do the same? The NRSC calls on Sen. Mary Landrieu to disavow Sen. Reid’s defeatist comments regarding the war in Iraq:
You gotta love Dick Cheney. He already knows the mainstream media and the Democrats hate him, so he just goes right out there and says exactly what he thinks…and often times, it’s priceless. It all started recently in Japan, of all places. Cheney was giving an interview to ABC News about John Murtha and Nancy Pelosi’s attempts to short-circuit the troop surge in Iraq. Here is exactly what he said:
“I think if we were to do what Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha are suggesting, all we will do is validate the Al Qaeda strategy. The Al Qaeda strategy is to break the will of the American people, try to persuade us to throw in the towel and come home, and then they win because we quit.”
And that’s when it hit the fan. A furious Nancy Pelosi tried to reach President Bush to complain, but only got through to the Chief of Staff. Madame Speaker whined that Cheney’s comments were “beneath the dignity of the debate we’re engaged in and a disservice to our men and women in uniform, whom we all support.” Uh-huh. Then Pelosi trotted out her well-worn straw man and accused the Bush Administration of questioning her patriotism, something he didn’t do.
So what’s the problem here? The truth hurts, doesn’t it? Cheney just spoke his mind…and he’s right. The Democratic strategy in Iraq is the Al-Qaeda strategy: surrender. It’s too bad Nancy Pelosi can’t accept that.
It’s a shame that we have such a whining little bitch as Speaker of the House. It’s Washington you little twit.
I though she was suppose to be this hard nose politician?
Henryk Broder, one of Germany’s few contrarian journalists, recently wrote a book decrying the weakness of the free West in the face of Islamic fanaticism. Tongue firmly in cheek, he called it:Hurra, Wir Kapitulieren, (Hurray! We’re Capitulating). Broder was primarily addressing Europe’s political class. But if the machinations of the Democratic Congress last week are any indication, the tendency toward gleeful submission before enemy forces cannot be dismissed as an exclusively Continental phenomenon.
Exhibit A in this tendency was the passage on Friday of the “non-binding” House resolution condemning President Bush’s strategy of boosting troop levels in Baghdad. If Democrats had the courage of their antiwar convictions, they would have taken a page from their predecessors in 1973 and exercised the power of the purse to deny any further funding for the war effort. But this would require principle, however misguided, and Democrats are primarily interested in political posturing.
And they were just getting started. As a sequel to last week’s resolution, House Democrats are working on what the Politico.com website described as a “slow-bleed strategy.” Cynicism on a spectacular scale, it works like this: Into a forthcoming bill on supplemental spending for the war effort in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Democratic leadership intends to insert prohibitive restrictions that will make it all but impossible to deploy additional troops into the military theater.
On the heels of Dem presidential contender Senator Obama’s SC visit, another presidential hopeful - Senator Hillary Clinton - was in Columbia, SC yesterday pandering to about 1,500 people at Allen University. The university, as the AP describes it, is an historically black college. One ‘issue’ Senator Clinton brought up was the Confederate flag, which has been the subject of ongoing controversy in SC to the point that the NAACP’s long-standing boycott on SC is still in effect. Hillary is against the flag being displayed on Statehouse grounds (it used to be displayed on the Statehouse dome), and one of the reasons she’s against it will surprise you:
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that South Carolina should remove the Confederate flag from its Statehouse grounds, in part because the nation should unite under one banner while at war.
“I think about how many South Carolinians have served in our military and who are serving today under our flag and I believe that we should have one flag that we all pay honor to, as I know that most people in South Carolina do every single day,” Clinton told The Associated Press in an interview.
We pledge to make this the most honest, ethical, and open Congress in history.
By Nancy Pelosi
WASHINGTON – The morning after the election, I received a powerful reminder of why so many of us choose public service as our life’s work. While walking into my office, I ran into a group of schoolchildren who had come to visit the Capitol.
Talking with them reminded me of the solemn responsibility each generation has to the ones that follow. Their enthusiasm and energy spoke more powerfully than any words could that they are inheritors of the future we choose to build today.
I COULD NOT GET PAST THIS…I’M NOW CLEANING UP CAPTAIN CRUNCH FROM MY DESK.
Here are just a few examples of what was said in the run-up to election day:
Jihad Jaara, a senior member of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the man who led the terrorist group’s 2002 seizure of Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity, expressed this wish:
“Of course Americans should vote Democrat,”
“This is why American Muslims will support the Democrats, because there is an atmosphere in America that encourages those who want to withdraw from Iraq. It is time that the American people support those who want to take them out of this Iraqi mud,”
And
“Bush is a sick person, an alcoholic person that has no control of what is going on around him. He calls to send more troops but will very soon get to the conviction that the violence and terror that his war machine is using in Iraq will never impose policies and political regimes in the Arab world.”
( 11/30/2005 ) Top House Democrat backs Murtha on quick withdrawal from Iraq Nov 30 3:20 PM.
The top Democrat in the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, endorsed a proposal by a senior member of her party calling for an quick pullout of US troops from Iraq. Pelosi backed the withdrawal plan proposed by Representative John Murtha, a staunchly pro-military former marine who shocked the Washington political establishment nearly two weeks ago by saying time had come for US forces to quit Iraq. Two weeks after Murtha introduced his House resolution calling for a pullout of US troops from Iraq within six months, Pelosi threw her support behind the legislation. “I’m endorsing what Mr. Murtha is saying, which is that the status quo is not working and that we need to have a plan that makes us safer and our military stronger and makes Iraq more stable,” Pelosi said at a press conference Wednesday. “I believe that what he has said has great wisdom. While the president is digging a hole, Mr. Murtha is speaking from the light of day about the realities in Iraq,” she said.
I notice that the newspaper and broadcast pundits are telling us who the winners and losers are in Tuesday’s startling elections. Well … I might as well get in the game here with everyone else.
The envelope please.
And the winners in this year’s midterm elections are:
Islamic Fascists
(Accepting the award for the Islamic Fascists will be Osama bin Laden)
The focal point of the war against Islamic fascism was Iraq. The jihadists were sending their fighters to Iraq, there to be killed in gratifying numbers by American and coalition troops. What was once American resolve is now American weakness. The people have listened to the politicians — one group that wanted to finish the job, another that didn’t — and gave the nod to the quitters. Today America is weaker in the eyes of those who would destroy us. Not a cause for celebration.
Slackards
(Accepting the award will be Shirley Sternfaulter, a young mother of three who wants the government to pay for her child care.)
A huge percentage of the people who went to the polls on Tuesday went there to vote for a living. They feel that the purpose of government is to make sure that the basic necessities of their lives are paid for, while they spend their own money on the newest technology in flat-screen televisions, gadget-filled cell phones and subscriptions to People Magazine.
Illegal Aliens>
(Putting down his leaf blower to accept the award is Pedro Lopez-Garcia-Menendez-Gonzalez, who pays no taxes in the U.S., and sends 80% of each paycheck back to Vera Cruz to take care of his wife and children.)
Yesterday President Bush as much as said that amnesty would be the order of the day. Now that those pesky Republicans have been kicked out of the majority in the House of Representatives, the president and the Senate will have clear sailing on their plan for amnesty for the 20 million plus illegal aliens now residing in this country. Oh .. and the border? Nothing will be done to stop the Mexican invasion, so as soon as Pedro has his paperwork Maria and the kids will be on a bus.
Those who want a weaker America
(Accepting the award will be Dominique Marie François René Galouzeau de Villepin, sometimes known as Dominique de Villepin, the Prime Minister of France. Dominique was the leader of the Axis of Weasels before he became Prime Minister.)
A poll earlier this year said that something like 58% of Europeans wanted a weaker America. They got their wish on Tuesday. Who is going to be there to pull their candied asses out of the oven when they finally wake up and realize the great strides that have been made in the Islamification of Europe? Hello Eurabia.
The first blow to be struck in the weakening of America will be for the Democrats to get rid of John Bolton as the Ambassador to the United Nations. They’ll replace him with someone who will not stand up to UN corruption and the forces who want to weaken us.
The Libertarian Party?
(I would be happy to accept this reward, but the don’t like me all that much because I believe that we need to defend this country from both the Islamic fascists and the Mexican invasion.)
Tuesday’s vote showed that a lot of conservatives and libertarians in this country are completely fed up with the Republican Party. If ever there was a time for the emergence of a third party that would adhere to conservative and libertarian values — without an obsessive allegiance to religious fundamentalists — now is the time. The Libertarian Party could be just that party. We’ll see if they’re up to the task.
The leftist media.
(Accepting the award for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, The Boston Globe, Time Magazine, Newsweek Magazine and too many more to mention will be Dan Rather)
Ninety percent or more of these people vote Democrat. They engaged in a six-year campaign of demonization of George Bush. It worked.
Washington Lawyers
(Accepting the Award will be the President of the D.C. Bar Association)
Get ready for two years of investigations, subpoenas, hearings…you name it. Everything will be investigated, then investigated again. But the Republicans did it to themselves…every last bit of it.
