Ok TJ I get the point…BUT

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

However I will say in Brownback’s case, I may make an exception, mainly because a fair number of the Democrats here in Kansas are closet Republicans and are pretty much centrists.

This latest episode with Switchback is an insult to Kansas politics a state with a history of solid political LEADERS.
Regardless of whether or not you agreed with them, these were people of character and proven leadership and Kansas certainly benefited because of it.

Without going into too many details here, I had a personal run-in with Brownback and his office over the issue of standards in the media.

While I was dealing with a very real issue right here in his own backyard, he sat as the chairman of a committee and did nothing on the very issue he went around the country preaching about.

A radio DJ was having extremely sexually explicit conversations with young girls live on the air, so explicit the news media could not air them.
I recorded hours of this mess.

Senator Switchback refused to even address this issue locally.

It was only after this same radio DJ told another young girl “it’s ok to take a gun to school” when the uproar hit a fever pitch mainly because this was shortly after Columbine.

Now Switchback could get some positive press for speaking out.

He finally contacted Powell (who was a useless slug by the way, head of the FCC) who sent me some bullshit letter, anywho Powell and Switchback claimed that they had not been notified of the previous events. They both were gutless slugs.

This is why when you fast forward to the Janet Jackson incident and the FCC and congress were falling all over themselves over the Super Bowl mess I thought it was funny and hypocritical at the same time.

Bottom line Switchback is clearly not a leader, a person who will only stick his nasty ass finger in the air and see what political sludge he can attach himself to.

If there is a Republican alternative to Switchback or a Centrist Democrat (who will not shove illegal Amnesty down my throat) I will certainly vote for them instead of Switchback.

Senator Switchback

Have I mentioned how much I hate Senator Switchback?

UPDATE From El Borak, I had not heard this excuse but it fits.

There is an explanation after all

Leon Wolf, E-Campaign Coordinator for the Save the Brownback Weasel Campaign, explains why Senator Switchback voted for it before he voted against it:

…people want to know how it came to be that Senator Brownback was heard to vote “Yes” but came to be recorded as a “No.” In the Senator’s words:

I wanted to signal that I am supportive of comprehensive immigration reform, but that now is not the time and this is not the bill.

The Senator did this intentionally and planned it, which is he made a point of voting first and loudly. It was intended to be a symbolic act which admittedly may not have had its intended effect on some people, but it *was* planned from the beginning.

Um, yeah. How about this: He made a point of voting first because senators vote in alphabetical order and ‘B’ is pretty close to the start of the alphabet. He voted loudly because it was a voice vote, which means that senators are expect to vote, out loud, when their name is called. And he voted No because it became clear, after he had already voted yes, that the measure was going down to defeat and he was not going to take the heat for standing up in a losing cause.

That sounds like a better explanation to me.

No this sounds like a fucken loser coward (sorry I’m not as nice as El Borak)

The people of Kansas need to get rid of this punk ass loser.

It pains me to say but I would rather see a Democrat Senator, (and in Kansas that’s not necessarily a bad thing) than this piece of shit Switchback.

I can’t wait until he is up for reelection.

WAIT I found this on his Switchback for President site:

Brownback Votes Against Senate Immigration Bill

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Sam Brownback today voted against the Senate immigration bill.

“I voted against the Senate immigration bill because I am not convinced it would fix our broken immigration system and it would most likely repeat the mistakes of the 1986 reform,” said Brownback.

The immigration bill failed earlier today on a 46-53 procedural vote that required 60 votes for the bill to advance to a final vote.

I just happened to go to Hot Air first thing on my daily morning blog scan and I find this about Senator Brownback, who will forever be know as, thanks to Hot Air,
Senator Sam Switchback.
Being that I can’t stand this dude, I am so glad they did this. At 7:49a it made my day!

Bryan and I cooked up another Kaus-inspired shamnesty Hot Air ad just for Senator Switchback. Thanks to Allahpundit for clipping the switchback moments that will live in infamy. Enjoy:
