24 hours ’til Super Tuesday: Mitt-mentum?

Monday, February 4th, 2008

mccain2b.JPGBriefly on Mitt, first off dude is not a conservative. I doubt seriously that I will vote for him, but he is definitely better than McCain. Mainly because he to me is a man with no political soul or center. He is an empty vessel which basically means that he will become whatever he needs to become to win the White House. So he is playing the right wing card. He knows that there are shit loads of people like myself who hates McCain and simply won’t vote for the liberal jackass out of principle.
If Romney gets the White House he will do what he is told and pretend to follow the conservative example to keep the base happy.
His legacy frankly is more important to him that his political soul. I will admit the fact that old guard Republican establishment types hate him makes me like the dude.

I sincerely hope that over the next few years the true conservative voices will rise up and slowly get rid of these old, tired ass, white haired, country club types, fraud Republicans and start electing TRUE conservatives to the House and Senate.

Links via Michelle Malkin

If there’s one thing we’ve learned in this presidential season so far, it’s that nothing is a sure thing. John McCain says he “assumes” he’ll get the nomination and that he’ll have it wrapped up by Super Tuesday.I wondered over the weekend whether the Rasmussen poll showing McCain and Mitt Romney in a dead heat was an anomaly. Well, here’s Zogby putting Romney 8 points ahead in California:

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, led McCain 40 percent to 32 percent in California, where the margin of error was 3.3 percentage points. A win in California, the most populous state, could help puncture McCain’s growing momentum in the Republican nomination fight.

***********

Look for McCain and Huck to increase their class warfare attacks and conspiracy-mongering, while continuing to coo to each other about their civility.

Paul Mirengoff at Power Line explains why he’ll vote for Romney:

The McCain I saw in the California debate last week didn’t look particularly electable. With the economy emerging as the overwhelmingly central issue in the campaign, with McCain’s nasty streak increasingly on display, and with his reputation for straight-talk diminishing before our eyes, I’m not prepared to base a vote for the Senator on electability.

The decision thus comes down to policy and effectiveness. I give Romney the edge on both counts.

Liberals say: “Let’s have some fun in Michigan”

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Found on the blog Screw Liberals - Daily Kos link

“With a history of meddling in our primaries, why don’t we try and return the favor. Next Tuesday, January 15th, Michigan will hold its primary. Michigan Democrats should vote for Mitt Romney, because if Mitt wins, Democrats win. How so?For Michigan Democrats, the Democratic primary is meaningless since the DNC stripped the state of all its delegates (at least temporarily) for violating party rules. Hillary Clinton is alone on the ballot. But on the GOP side, this primary will be fiercely contested. John McCain is currently enjoying the afterglow of media love since his New Hamsphire victory, while Iowa winner Mike Huckabee is poised to do well in South Carolina.

Meanwhile, poor Mitt Romney, who’s suffered back-to-back losses in the last week, desperately needs to win Michigan in order to keep his campaign afloat. Bottom line, if Romney loses Michigan, he’s out. If he wins, he stays in.

And we want Romney in, because the more Republican candidates we have fighting it out, trashing each other with negative ads and spending tons of money, the better it is for us. We want Mitt to stay in the race, and to do that, we need him to win in Michigan.”

Was It All A Dream?

From The Phoenix

mittlutherking.jpgIn the most-watched speech of his political career, speaking on “Faith in America” at College Station, Texas, earlier this month, Mitt Romney evoked the strongest of all symbolic claims to civil-rights credentials: “I saw my father march with Martin Luther King.”He has repeated the claim several times recently, most prominently to Tim Russert on Meet the Press . But, while the late George W. Romney, a four-term governor of Michigan, can lay claim to a strong record on civil rights, the Phoenix can find no evidence that the senior Romney actually marched with King, nor anything in the public record suggesting that he ever claimed to do so.Nor did Mitt Romney ever previously claim that this took place, until long after his father passed away in 1995 — not even when defending accusations of the Mormon church’s discriminatory past during his 1994 Senate campaign.

Asked about the specifics of George Romney’s march with MLK, Mitt Romney’s campaign told the Phoenix that it took place in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. That jibes with the description proffered by David S. Broder in a Washington Post column written days after Mitt’s College Station speech.

Broder, in that column, references a 1967 book he co-authored on the Republican Party, which included a chapter on George Romney. It includes a one-line statement that the senior Romney “has marched with Martin Luther King through the exclusive Grosse Pointe suburb of Detroit.”

But that account is incorrect. King never marched in Grosse Pointe, according to the Grosse Pointe Historical Society, and had not appeared in the town at all at the time the Broder book was published. “I’m quite certain of that,” says Suzy Berschback, curator of the Grosse Pointe Historical Society. (Border was not immediately available for comment.)

Berschback also believes that George Romney never appeared at a protest, march, or rally in Grosse Pointe. “We’re a small town,” she says. “Governors don’t come here very often, except for fundraisers.”

In fact, King’s only appearance in Grosse Pointe, according to Berschback, took place after Broder’s book was published.

That was for a March 14 speech he delivered at Grosse Pointe High School, just three weeks before King was assassinated. But there was no march, and George Romney was not there.

Quick rant!Man I’m just amazed. Amazed at just how astonishing ignorant the voting public is today. It’s obvious that some of you folks don’t give a shit about the future of this country.
Look who is leading in the polls on both sides of the political divide:

  • A crackpot religious zealot.
  • A confused conniving woman where her only claim to fame is that she sometimes screwed a former president.
  • A liberal ex-mayor who took advantage of the fact that terrorist decided to strike his particular city.
  • A habitual liar Mormon who routinely lies about everything.
  • A man with virtually no record, routinely touted as an empty suit, who still has yet to articulate his stances on the issues and his biggest claim to fame is that a famous talk show host endorses him.
  • A total fraud of a man, who very likely sacrificed his campaign because he chooses to screw some skank bimbo groupie despite the fact that is Cancer stricken wife works hard on his campaign.
  • And the leading internet money pimp is a weasel sounding closet anti-Semite, who amazingly is still raising shit loads of money from internet geeks despite the fact that he is ZERO chance at capturing the Republican nomination.

Oh don’t get mad people, Don’t start calling me names, and accusing me of being unfair and biased. If I’m making any of this up, please feel free to comment or send me an e-mail. I will post your full responses on the top of this blog and will issue a genuine apology.

I’m just ranting but it seems like every day we get revelations like this MLK march lie from the Romney camp and it does not seem to matter. You fucken sheep will still support these moronic people to run this nation.

Unfortunately you have someone like Duncan Hunter, who clearly is a better candidate that any of these individuals is barely registering in the polls and campaign contributions.
Forget about my favorite candidate, he will be ok in the long, run. I don’t buy into the doom and gloom bullshit I read.

All of this information available to you people on these frauds but somehow they still get your support.

Romney attended Planned Parenthood house party in 1994

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

While trolling some liberal blogs I found this from the blog Blue Mass Group

romneypp.JPG

BMG has obtained a photograph showing Mitt Romney at a house party to benefit Planned Parenthood that was held in June of 1994, during his campaign for US Senate against Ted Kennedy.  And, BMG has learned, Ann Romney’s $150 check to Planned Parenthood that was in the news a few months back was related to this event.

In case you forgot; ABC quoted [Romney spokesman Kevin Madden] as saying that “[t]he governor has not donated to Planned Parenthood or abortion-rights groups.”

Romney: The biggest political liar I have ever witnessed.

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

UPDATE: “I wanted to say that I thought Romney was excellent on “Meet the Press” - Folks I’m speechless, fucking amazing!

Romney on Meet the Press: Gun rights/immigration positions under fire

Then of course there are the clueless blind supporters

Evangelicals for Mitt

romneyvarmint-md.jpgFolks I have been a political junkie for a long time. At 44 years of age, I have followed politics fairly closely since I was in Junior High. Not obsessively or anything, but I grew up around a number of individuals who were well known in political circles in the Bay Area back in the day and I have mentioned these individuals before. My political “give a shit meter” went up significantly during the Reagan presidency and I got to the point of actually studying candidates and scrutinizing them more and more particularly individual on the other side of the political aisle. My political views have not changed much, but I have seen a change in the quality of politicians.

Having said that, I often wonder - could the politicians of yesteryear survive the white hot spotlight of today’s campaigns with You Tube, podcasts, blogs, and all the legions of political pundits who pimp their fictitious knowledge to any interested media outlet eager to fill program time?

I know I’m naïve in saying it, but I would have thought that today’s politicians would have a basic understanding of the media magnifying glass that hovers above them on a daily basis.

Mitt Romney is either totally clueless about this fact or he just does not give a fuck.
He is counting on the fact that the average American citizen is a complete idiot and is not paying attention to the political grind; because he hopes that they are much too busy raising their children, working hard on getting that degree, hard at that nine to five just trying to make ends meet.

Maybe voters aren’t paying attention. Not paying attention because of that long subway ride home, or that tiring bumper to bumper traffic on the 405 or the 95.

Not paying attention because they are focused on that new relationship, or maybe preparing that award wining menu for the upcoming Christmas Party.

Not paying attention because mom or dad may be sick, there has been an untimely death in the family, grief from depression, not being able to get your kids all they want this Christmas.

Not paying attention because they are too busy scheming, trying to figure out the story to tell the wife, while the mistress makes the hotel reservation or busy finding that perfect dress to wear on the town because her friend has found the perfect one for you.

Mitt Romney is counting on the fact that there is just so much to occupy our time and so precious few hours in the day.

Oddly enough there are people like me paying way too much attention to liars like Romney and in addition we are willing to devote some of those precious moments that could be devoted to giving my wife a kiss and a big hug to thank her for being the perfect wife. Or playing with the grandchildren or playing my favorite video game. All of the attention being paid to politicians over the years and I have NEVER ever witnessed a politician that was a big a liar as Mitt Romney.

With apologies to Hillary and Bill Clinton, Mitt Romney is by far the best trained monkey politician I have ever seen.

None of my disdain for Romney should matter. His appearance on Meet the Press this morning should kill his run for the presidency. If it does not, people are simply not paying attention.

I have never heard a politician change a position on a topic in the middle of a sentence as many times as Mitt. What makes this morning’s performance more incredible is that I’m sure he was prepared for what Russert was going to ask him and he still failed miserably.
I had a clip of a recent appearance by Michael Dukakis where he called Mitt Romney a huge fraud. I don’t think that goes far enough. This is a man without any political soul whatsoever. His is incapable of telling the truth on where he stands on an issue, because he doesn’t know where he stands; it depends on who he is trying to convince.
Is it a bunch of Iowa farmers, Christians in South Carolina, the NRA, a group of left leaning types in New Hampshire or an anti-abortion group in Pennsylvania? His position shifts to fit his audience.

He is the most deceitful sack of shit in American politics today.

Now those of you who have been peeping this blog for awhile, should already know that I have never ever given Romney any chance in receiving the Republican nomination, mainly because he was Mormon and I have been ranting about that for awhile.
But I will finally admit that his Mormon, Oops…. Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints background will have NOTHING to do with him not receiving the nomination.

He will not receive the nomination because he is a fucken chronic liar. He is more then a chronic flip-flopper. He is a trained monkey, crediting his parents for all his thoughts and motivations, and he truly has no core beliefs of his own.

Oh I did not forget folks the line in the interview where he said that he “literally wept” in 1978 when he heard that the Mormon church had finally decided that blacks could be equal members of that faith.

This has to go down as one of the biggest lies ever told in presidential campaign history.

Almost a bigger load of crap than William Jefferson’s “depends on what the meaning of (is) is”

Although I may disagree with a person’s choice for president during this campaign cycle I can understand the support of virtually all of the candidates on both sides of the political divide. I clearly don’t understand how anybody who is paying attention can support Romney’s candidacy.
This man completely devoid of any core principals should not appeal to any relatively rational voter.

Anybody who after watching “Meet the Press” this morning who would still say that they can support this man for president of the United States is frankly either not wrapped too tight or is an individual who believes that saying whatever needs to be said to get you to your desired goals is a noble endeavor.

People who support Mitt Romney; but don’t want to work for such an individual, be married to or in a relationship with such an individual or raising such an individual, are hypocrites. Chronic lying is wrong and would not be tolerated in any relationship particularly and especially the relationship between this nations president and the American people.

Romney: I don’t flip-flop, I learn from experience:

Here’s a key quote from Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s appearance this morning on NBC-TV’s Meet the Press, during which most of host Tim Russert’s questions focused on whether Romney has flip-flopped on issues such as abortion, gun control, taxes and health care. Romney said the only issue he’s changed much on is abortion — from effectively “pro-choice” to his current “pro-life” stance. Then, he had this to say:

“Tim, if you’re looking for someone who’s never changed any positions on any policies, then I’m not your guy. I do learn from experience. If you want someone who doesn’t learn from experience — who stubbornly takes a position on a particular act and says ‘well, I’m never changing my view based on what I’ve learned’ — that doesn’t make sense to me.”

Some other things Romney said:

In his recent speech about religion, his Mormon faith and the role of faith in public life, Romney said “freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom.” Pressed by Russert, Romney said that does not mean atheists cannot also be moral persons.

“On an individual basis you have many individuals of great morality that don’t have a particular faith,” he said. He also said he would not require that Supreme Court nominees be men or women of faith.

• He wept with joy the day in 1978 when he heard that the Mormon church had finally decided that blacks could be equal members of that faith. “You can see what I believed and what my family believed,” he said. “My dad (former Michigan Governor George Romney) marched Martin Luther King. … Those are my fundamental core beliefs.” He was driving when he heard the news and “I pulled over and literally wept.”

As president he would not seek to outlaw the use of so-called “surplus embryos” for stem-cell research.

He continues to believe that rival Republican contender Mike Huckabee “owes the president an apology” for saying the Bush administration has been arrogant and has a bunker mentality when it comes to foreign policy. That’s different, Romney insisted, from his criticism of the administration’s handling of the post-combat operations phase of the war in Iraq.

“It is a mess,” he said of the situation in Iraq. “If you’re suggesting that it’s equivalent to say we’ve made a lot of errors … and that the president is arrogant and has a bunker mentality … that’s where (Huckabee) went over the line.”

Russert, by the way, said his guest next week will be Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul. Meet the Press is archiving its interviews with the presidential contenders here.

What I was thinking…

From Wonkette

My Bullshit Meter — the standards for which Mitt Romney had already raised dramatically — is blinking furiously:

I can remember when, when I heard about the change being made. I was driving home from, I think, it was law school, but I was driving home, going through the Fresh Pond rotary in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I heard it on the radio, and I pulled over and, and literally wept.

Awww, It gave him an opportunity to get fathers for all those immoral Negroes and their gunshootingness.

.NATIONAL REVIEW ENDORSES: MITT…

nr.jpg

Fucking idiots, my opinion of National Review just went into the toilet.

Mitt Romney, the classic political opportunist, on the abortion alone willing to take one side of a life and death issue when seeking liberal votes and quite willing to take the other side of the same issue when seeking conservative votes.

Mitt Romney at one point in his political career would have to run to the LEFT of Ted Kennedy, who so much symbolizes the catchphrase “big government.”

Romney once stated; “If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern,” Romney wrote. “My opponent cannot do this. I can and will.”

Years later, the same liberal Ted Kennedy who actually supports “equality for gays and lesbians” as he has been a forthright backer of gay marriage and an outspoken opponent of the Federal Marriage Amendment. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, made himself the poster boy for conservative opposition to gay marriage, conveniently positioned himself at the geographical epicenter of the debate. The thought of Romney attending a gay pride parade today is unthinkable.

Hypocrisy as far as I’m concerned is an unforgivable sin in American politics. Romney plays this role better than any Republican in the field. From guns, abortion, stem cell research, fidelity to Reagan, tax pledges-all Romney positions reversed, modified, “evolved” or faked.
This is a man adept to faking his views to polish his “conservative” credentials.

If that isn’t bad enough, this jackass even has a change of positions when it comes to his favorite book saying in an interview on national TV that his favorite novel is Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s “Battlefield Earth.”
Forget that he told Fox News his favorite book was the Bible but his favorite novel was the science fiction tome “Battlefield Earth.”
On his My Space page the Mark Twain novel “Huckleberry Finn” topped his book list.

Imagine someone so fucked up and lacking in conviction that he can’t even come clean on something as simple as his favorite book.
Frankly I would even question his commitment on his Mormon convictions.

Folks who peep this blog know I’m a Thompson supporter, so this is not just me using my personal format to attack a Thompson opponent. But what I want in a candidate is someone with integrity, someone willing to open the curtain to reveal his or her personal and political convictions AND someone willing to stand resolute by those convictions.

Any true Republican and certainly any true conservative could not possible support Romney.
Like I said National Review in my mind has lost considerable credibility. Romney has deep $$$ pockets and it looks as though National Review has slipped their hands into them.

“Not exactly what that means”

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

romneyhunt.jpg

This from my buddy El Borak

Mitt seems a bit confused about the Constitution:

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Republican Mitt Romney declares in a speech being delivered Thursday that he shares “moral convictions” with Americans of all faiths, but should not have to explain his own religion just because he’s striving to become the first Mormon elected president.

“To do so would enable the very religious test the founders prohibited in the Constitution…,” Romney said in remarks prepared for delivery at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

Article VI of the Constitution reads, in part, “no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.” But Romney seems to share the typical politician’s misunderstanding of the purpose of the Constitution, which is to limit the government, not the people.

Many governments have legally excluded people from holding office for religious reasons. In fact, the New Jersey Constitution of 1776 said that only Protestant Christians could be elected:

all persons, professing a belief in the faith of any Protestant sect…shall be capable of being elected into any office of profit or trust, or being a member of either branch of the Legislature…

Lawn work at Romney’s home still done by illegal immigrants

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

ille.jpg

Ricardo Saenz, owner of the company that employed illegal immigrants, worked on Romney’s lawn recently.

By Maria Cramer and Maria Sacchetti, Globe Staff; and Connie Paige, Globe Correspondent

Standing on stage at a Republican debate on the Gulf Coast of Florida last week, Mitt Romney repeatedly lashed out at rival Rudy Giuliani for providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants in New York City.

Yet, the very next morning, on Thursday, at least two illegal immigrants stepped out of a hulking maroon pickup truck in the driveway of Romney’s Belmont house, then proceeded to spend several hours raking leaves, clearing debris from Romney’s tennis court, and loading the refuse back on to the truck.

In fact, their work was part of a regular pattern. Despite a Globe story in Dec. 2006 that highlighted Romney’s use of illegal immigrants to tend to his lawn, Romney continued to employ the same landscaping company — until today. The landscaping company, in turn, continued to employ illegal immigrants.

Read the rest if you want but the point is made, Romney is a flip flopping liar hypocrite.

Man has anyone noticed that ole Snoop seems to be bitch slapping Republicans more than Democrats these days. Wonder what that says about the party, but more importantly why the Fred campaign needs to get in gear. His candidacy is becoming increasingly more important.

SHOCK: Romney Fudging Again

Monday, November 19th, 2007

romney6.jpg

From the American Spectator Blog via Ankle Biting Pundits

Romney is trying to deflect criticism from a number of opponents about his healthcare reform and releases this. His basic argument: we enacted universal health care without taxes and the courts made us pay for abortions. Well, there are arguments on the other side. He quotes Club for Growth as saying he “deserves credit” for a plan encouraging individually-owed health care.

But the Club for Growth also noted: “To be sure, Commonwealth Care is a far cry from free-market healthcare. Besides the individual and employer mandates, the program expands Medicaid, does not deregulate enough, and will likely cost more than the current system, which despite all its flaws, does, after all, already provide universal healthcare on demand. Most of the blame for the deficiencies in the Massachusetts plan lies with the liberal Legislature which, absent the resistance of Governor Romney, almost certainly would have enacted a major tax increase while moving healthcare reform in the worst possible direction.

Nevertheless, given its massively regulatory nature and likely high cost, the Massachusetts healthcare plan is not a model upon which a national plan should be built.” As for abortions, one of the quotes Romney uses actually support the argument made by Thompson: Massachusetts was only legally required to pay for “medically necessary” abortions but Romney’s plan paid for ALL abortions. Romney also argues,” Hey not me, it was the independent Connector Authority which did it.”

Despite his argument that the Connector Authority was “independent” of the Romney, he in fact appointed key members of the board and the executive director was chosen by Romney’s Administration and Finance Secretary. Plenty of fodder for everyone in this one.

Also check out:  And don’t forget about those $50 abortions.

Mitt version 2.0: Protecting Traditional Marriage

Monday, November 5th, 2007

Hmmm was checking out some random blogs and found this about Mitt on Pandagon

Surfing over at Mitt Romney’s campaign web site, I came across the former Massachusetts governor’s proud statement of his goal of protecting marriage (he doesn’t believe in civil unions now, either.

“I will work with the people in this room, as I have for the past four years, to champion a federal marriage amendment to protect marriage as the union of a man and a woman. … Make no mistake: a federal amendment is the only way we can protect marriage from liberal, unelected judges.” - Gov. Mitt Romney

(Gov. Mitt Romney, Address To The Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit, 10/19/07)

In A 2006 Letter To All 100 U.S. Senators, Gov. Romney Stressed Traditional Marriage As “The Ideal Setting For Nurturing And Developing Children.” GOV. ROMNEY: “Our society, like all known civilizations in recorded history, has favored the union of a man and a woman with the special designation and benefits of marriage. In this respect, it has elevated the relationship of a legally bound man and woman over other relationships. This recognizes that the ideal setting for nurturing and developing children is a home where there is a mother and a father.”

(Gov. Mitt Romney, Letter To United States Senators, 6/2/06)

Strange, though, I didn’t see this up at the site —

I still say way too many people would simply not vote for a Mormon anyway and they damm sure won’t vote for a politically challenged flip floppin’ Mormon.

Was ‘intern’ a loaded word to throw at Sen. Clinton? Romney camp says no

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

clinton7m.JPG

Scored points with me! LOL!

For at least the second time, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has used the word “intern” when talking about Democratic front runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and his contention that he’s got the experience needed to be president — but that she would have to learn on the job.

Last night he did it on Fox News Channel’s Hannity & Colmes

“She’s never had the occasion of being in the private sector, running a business, or, for that matter, running a state or a city. She hasn’t run anything, and the government of the United States is not a place for a president to be an intern,” Romney said.

Romney loses Nevada Straw Poll…TO RON PAUL!!

Monday, October 15th, 2007

paul2.jpgFrom NBC/NJ’s Erin McPike

SPARKS, Nev. – Ron Paul won the GOP presidential straw poll conducted by organizers at the Conservative Leadership Conference held at the Nugget Casino this weekend “by a large margin,” according to an organizer.

Paul won with 33 percent, Romney came in second with 16 percent and Duncan Hunter was just behind with 15 percent. “Undecided” was fourth with 11 percent, and Thompson and Giuliani were next and ahead of the rest of the pack — all in single digits. Raw numbers haven’t been provided, but there were approximately 430 registrants at the opening of the conference.

Although many of the Republican presidential teams had surrogates representing them at the conference, Mitt Romney and Duncan Hunter were the only candidates to speak at the conference, and the victor himself was not there.

Libertarian sentiment dominated the conference, and a number of attendees expressed disappointment with the Republican Party for not catering to many of their views. Several speakers explained that they were looking to move on, echoing much of the discontent that came out of the meeting of the Council for National Policy in Salt Lake City late last month.

Read the rest, but why bother, Romney, DUDE,  I think it tis time you packed up the tent and went home.

Romney Campaign Cover-up

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Found this on the blog eyeon08.com via Conservative Grapevine

mormon2a.JPG

Todd Harris said what everyone has been thinking for a while:

The statement from Todd Harris, communications director for Fred Thompson, accuses Mitt Romney’s campaign of a “half-baked cover-up” of what he alleges is the association between a Romney consultant and a hastily pulled website that said nasty things about Thompson.

Harris concluded with the kind of rhetoric that tends to warm Democratic hearts: “This latest episode only serves to prove what many voters are already figuring out: Mitt Romney will do anything, say anything, smear any opponent and flip flop on any position in order to win. The American people in general and the Republican Party in particular deserve better than this.”

“I’m not running as a Mormon” - Sure we will all just ignore that little detail…

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

“Mitt takes the gloves off” and politico.com, Romney became aggressive with staunch conservative Mickelson after some back and forth.  Here is the transcript of that discussion: Video can also be seen hereMickelson: “I hope we can do this so we can expend some quality time on here rather then the sound bytes.”

Romney: “No, I don’t like coming on the air and having you go after me and my church.”

Mickelson: “I’m not going after your church, I agree with your church!”

Romney: “I’m not running as a Mormon, and I get a little tired of coming on a show like yours and having it all about Mormon.”

Mickelson: “See, I don’t mind about it being all about that.”

Romney: “I do, I do.”

Nobody is going to vote for a Mormon in a national election anyway…. oh, get a grip people you know I’m right, I always say what others won’t.
I checked out this PBS documentary on Mormons and there was one section that talked about excommunication and how people who would question the Mormon faith would basically tell anyone who would dare question doctrine to “get the fuck out” you can’t be part of OUR religion anymore. Forcing family member to shun each other because some brainwashed old white guys could maintain control over the flock.
Free thinking is strongly discouraged.

Again, Romney is a non factor in the race, but I find it interesting that he would be upset that individuals like me want to focus on his religion. A religion basically pulled out of one dudes ass with a history of racism, subordination of women and isolationist tendencies and you want to be president representing ALL Americans? Plez!

In case you did not know…..

From Brigham Young
Journal of DiscoursesShall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African Race? If the White man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.

Cain slew his brother. . . and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin.

You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind. The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race–that they should be the “servant of servants;” and they will be, until that curse is removed.

Just as I said about Ron Paul, racists are automatically disqualified from running for public office, “but Snoop Romney doesn’t believe that, Mormons are not like that anymore.” C’mon, ole Snoop is not boo boo the fool, any good PR effort can burry crap like this and help an institution put on a more public friendly face.
You can’t be part of a religion that taught this racist crap for many years and all of a sudden say, “never mind, Negros are good people too.”

Sorry I’m someone who looks deeper at issues than most folks, I’m just wired that way.
