Radical Muslim paramilitary compound flourishes in upper New York state

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Msgt Theresa’s comment below in the post about the polygamist chicks sparked my memory of this post from Jihad Watch a year ago.

“So, when the “compounds” of islam worshipers, like the ones springing up across the country are monitored and found to be in violation of whatever laws, will the authorities react as aggressively against them or will they be held up by the PC bullshit currently in place when we deal with “islam”?”

Would the government be so eager to bust onto this little complex vs the one with a bunch of psychologically disturb women?

Islamberg, New York: “You can hear gunfire up there. I can’t understand why the FBI won’t shut it down”

(Jihad Watch Link) The intrepid Paul Williams has a report in Canada Free Press (thanks to all who sent this in) about his visit to Islamberg, New York, a camp run by the jihadist Jamaat ul-Fuqra group. The inhabitants wouldn’t let him into the compound, but he talked to some of the locals, and found out a good deal:

Islamberg is not as benign as a Buddhist monastery or a Carmelite convent. Nearly every weekend, neighbors hear sounds of gunfire. Some, including a combat veteran of the islamberg.jpgVietnam War, have heard the bang of small explosives. None of the neighbors wished to be identified for fear of “retaliation.” “We don’t even dare to slow down when we drive by,” one resident said. “They own the mountain and they know it and there is nothing we can do about it but move, and we can’t even do that. Who wants to buy a property near that?”The complex serves to scare the bejeesus out of the local residents. “If you go there, you better wear body armor,” a customer at the Circle E Diner in Hancock said. “They have armed guards and if they shoot you, nobody will find your body.”

At Cousins, a watering hole in nearby Deposit, a barfly, who didn’t wish to be identified, said: “The place is dangerous. You can hear gunfire up there. I can’t understand why the FBI won’t shut it down.”

Islamberg is a branch of Muslims of the Americas Inc., a tax-exempt organization formed in 1980 by Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who refers to himself as “the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr,” Gilani, has been directly linked by court documents to Jamaat ul-Fuqra or “community of the impoverished,” an organization that seeks to “purify” Islam through violence.

Though primarily based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has operational headquarters in New York and openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in hamaats or compounds, such as Islamberg, where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority. Additional hamaats have been established in Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulane Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Others are being built, including an expansive facility in Sherman, Pennsylvania.

Read it all. And then contact your congressman.

Officials say Islamberg - a wooded, 70-acre encampment in upstate Tompkins, about three hours north of the city - acts as the headquarters for an outfit called Muslims of the Americas, widely believed to be a front for Jamaat al-Fuqra, founded by radical Pakistani cleric Mubarak Ali Gilani.

Old lib media story:‘Islamophobia’ Felt 5 Years After 9/11

Interesting article on Islamophobia, from a British point of view

“does Islamophobia really exist? Or is the hatred and abuse of Muslims being exaggerated to suit politicians’ needs and silence the critics of Islam? The trouble with Islamophobia is that it is an irrational concept.

It confuses hatred of, and discrimination against, Muslims on the one hand with criticism of Islam on the other. The charge of ‘Islamophobia’ is all too often used not to highlight racism but to stifle criticism. And in reality discrimination against Muslims is not as great as is often perceived - but criticism of Islam should be greater.”

Moonbattery

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

See this is why I have to be selective when I go to the blog Moonbattery.
Almost every time I go to the site I see something that is so utterly retarded and I yell out in my office “ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING?”, then the other office folks ask what’s happened!?
Yes just like clockwork, there is this crazy story: Racist Engine-Revver Sent to Jail

lotus.jpgThe scourge known as racism can take many forms. Ronnie Hutton of Scotland was reportedly jailed for two days for “revving his car in a racist manner.” More than a year later, when his case was finally tried, he was fined £150.

Hutton claims he was only revving his Lotus’s temperamental engine so it wouldn’t stall:

To be convicted for revving my car in a busy street is hard to take. Does this mean anyone driving a noisy car in Scotland is now a criminal?

Of course not. It’s only a crime when infidels do it near a couple of Muslims. Let this be a lesson to those who haven’t submitted wholeheartedly to dhimmitude.

Behold the forbidden blasphemous balls!

Friday, August 31st, 2007

This is funny and silly. Seriously is there anything at all that Muslims are not outraged about? What the fuck!
This from Malkin. I swear Muslims are like Klingons, always pissed off. They need to smoke some good herb, sip some Crown and chill.

File this under “No good deed goes unpunished” by the Religion of Perpetual Outrage:

football.jpgA demonstration has been held in south- east Afghanistan accusing US troops of insulting Islam after they distributed footballs bearing the name of Allah.

The balls showed the Saudi Arabian flag which features the Koranic declaration of faith.

The US military said the idea had been to give something for Afghan children to enjoy and they did not realise it would cause offence.

The footballs were dropped from a helicopter in Khost province.

Some displayed flags from countries all over the world, including Saudi Arabia, which features the shahada, one of the five pillars of Islam - the declaration of faith.

The words, which include the name of Allah, are revered, and Muslims are very sensitive about where and how they can be used.

As we’ve learned from Rushdie Rage, MoCartoon Rage, Burger King Ice Cream Cone Rage, Koran Flushing Rage, Valentine’s Day Rage, Veil Rage, Pope Rage, Fallaci Rage, Miss World Pageant Rage, and Rushdie Knighthood Rage, they’re pretty damned “sensitive” (read: ready to riot) about everything.

Rough justice: 80 lashes for ‘immoral’ Iranian who abused alcohol and had sex

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

flogparis.JPG.

His face covered by a balaclava, an official brandishing a cane repeatedly lashes the back of a man found guilty of breaking Iran’s morality laws. Two police officers hold the legs of 25-year-old Saeed Ghanbari and another his arms to ensure there is no escape from the punishment of 80 lashes handed down by a religious court.

Traffic was brought to a halt in Qazvin, 90 miles west of the capital Tehran, as more than 1,000 men gathered behind barricades to watch the public flogging.

Some took pictures on mobile telephones, others climbed traffic lights for a better vantage point as Ghanbari was marched to the centre of the square under the watch of blue-uniformed guards carrying machine guns.

A four foot long metal bench was taken from a police van and the convicted man was made to lie on it on his stomach, his fawn checked shirt pulled-up to his shoulders to expose his back and waist.

One police officer held his hands together beneath the bench, two others gripped his legs to ensure there was little movement.

Two police officers stood-by, their faces covered with balaclavas - each to administer 40 lashes.

Captain Ed asks: “Are The Wheels Coming Off For Obama?” Snoop replies, “what wheels!?”

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Video added…
obamafife.jpgThis from Captain’s Quarters, Ya see I told y’all BEFORE Obama entered the race that he was a blithering idiot, but Nooooooo, nobody listens to ole Snoop, I’m just a crazy Negro, LOL!

The primary campaign has turned into a very long dance for Barack Obama, who seems determined to prove at every opportunity that he has two left feet. In New Hampshire, Obama told a crowd that the US military effort consists mainly of “air raiding villages and killing civilians” — which his tone-deaf campaign confirmed moments later to reporters (via The Corner):

Obama defended his push to prosecute a tougher military effort to root out al-Qaida on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, which drew criticism from primary rivals for sounding too bellicose.“Now you have narco drug lords who are helping to finance the Taliban, so we’ve got to get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops that we are not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there,’’ Obama said.

Campaign spokesman Reid Cherlin said Obama was not endorsing the current Bush policy, which consists solely of air raids and bombing of civilians.

The NATO troops in Afghanistan would beg to differ. They don’t have a policy of bombing civilians, and the ground troops play a very important role in defending Afghanistan’s villages from the depravities of Taliban control. Perhaps Obama can explain his analysis of military strategy and tactics to the ground troops that get wounded in these battles — or to the families of the dead soldiers who died holding ground against the radical Islamists.

Another must read - ‘This Is The News The World Doesn’t Hear’

Der Spiegel has reflected and led overwhelming German opposition to the war in Iraq practically from the moment of the invasion in 2003. They have often featured George Bush on their cover in unflattering pictures and with negative headlines such as “Power and Lies”, an issue last year in which they declared Iraq lost. However, they finally sent their own reporter for an in-depth tour of Iraq, and the magazine realizes that the world media has missed the story (via Medienkritik):

Since June, Ramadi residents have only known the war from televison. Indeed, US military officials at the Baghdad headquarters of Operation Iraqi Freedom often have trouble believing their eyes when they read the reports coming in from their units in Ramadi these days. Exploded car bombs: zero. Detonated roadside bombs: zero. Rocket fire: zero. Grenade fire: zero. Shots from rifles and pistols: zero. Weapons caches discovered: dozens. Terrorists arrested: many.

You Tube Video - Hitch Part 2 Dennis Prager Islamophobia, - 08:00

Why ‘Islamophobia’ is a brilliant term - By Dennis Prager

What do anti-Semitism, racism and Islamophobia have in common?

In fact, nothing.

But according to Islamist groups, Western media and the United Nations, they have everything in common. Anti-Semites hate all Jews, racists hate all members of another race, and Islamophobes hate all Muslims.

Whoever coined the term “Islamophobia” was quite shrewd. Notice the intellectual sleight of hand here. The term is not “Muslim-phobia” or “anti-Muslimist,” it is Islam-ophobia – fear of Islam – yet fear of Islam is in no way the same as hatred of all Muslims. One can rightly or wrongly fear Islam, or more usually, aspects of Islam, and have absolutely no bias against all Muslims, let alone be a racist.

The equation of Islamophobia with racism is particularly dishonest. Muslims come in every racial group, and Islam has nothing to do with race. Nevertheless, mainstream Western media, Islamist groups calling themselves Muslim civil liberties groups and various Western organizations repeatedly declare that Islamophobia is racism.

Hot Air audio: How one wealthy jihad supporter is using UK courts to kill American free speech

It’s difficult to overstate the importance of this story. The Chronicle of Higher Education (sub. required) on Wednesday published an article about Khalid bin Mafouz, a wealthy Saudi banker, and his successful effort to persuade the Cambridge University Press to halt the publication of four books that detail how Saudi citizens use their wealth to finance global terrorism. One of those books, Alms for Jihad, was once on sale at Amazon and elsewhere, but it has been pulled from sale and copies of it are now being pulped. Cambridge has even sent out letters to libraries that stock it and the other three books, asking for their return so that they too can be pulped, meaning they will soon disappear, burying the details they contain on how terrorism finance works and who is behind it.

Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld of the American Center for Democracy is one of the authors whose books have been subject to judicial attack by Khalid bin Mafouz. I interviewed her about the case of the censorious jihad financier, and Cambridge Press’ cowardly capitulation to him. She is the author of Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed and How to Stop It. She is the only author to date who is fighting back.

Robert Spencer fights back - Spokesman for unindicted co-conspirator in terror group funding case defames Spencer on CNN - From Jihad Watch

A portion of Spencer’s comments:

He quoted a genocidal comment that was made on this website yesterday, and made it appear as if I had written it. (Prager would have none of it, and spoke highly of Jihad Watch, for which I thank him, although at the end of the segment, when Hooper attributed something else to me that I have never said, Prager disavowed it and responded, “I will” to Hooper’s “Then tell Mr. Spencer that.” In fact, I do not hold and have never stated anything of what Hooper attributes to me on this show.) In reality, someone kindly alerted me to the existence of the comment shortly after it was posted, and I removed it and banned the poster.

I allow comments here because I believe in free speech and free inquiry. But in reality, I don’t endorse any of them. Some I agree with, some I don’t, some are brilliant, some are not, some apologize for jihad and defend jihadists, and some are extremely angry with jihadists — but no one can legitimately assume that I endorse any of them unless I say so. And certainly if I remove a comment, it is a clear message. Every comments field bears this heading: “Note: Comments on articles are unmoderated, and do not necessarily reflect the views of Jihad Watch or Robert Spencer. Comments that are off-topic, offensive, slanderous, or otherwise annoying may be summarily deleted. However, the fact that particular comments remain on the site IN NO WAY constitutes an endorsement by Robert Spencer of the views expressed therein.”

By Robert Spencer Jihad Watch: “Islamophobic” or Informed?

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007
iphobe.jpgSome reflections on some recent polls, in FrontPage today (news links in the original):

A new Newsweek Poll on American attitudes toward Muslims and Islam has found that 46 percent of Americans believe that the United States is taking in too many Muslim immigrants. 32 percent think that Muslims in America are less loyal to the United States than they are to Islam. 28 percent believe that the Qur’an condones violence, and 41 percent hold that Islamic culture “glorifies suicide.” 54 percent are either “somewhat worried” or “very worried” about Islamic jihadists in this country, and 52 percent support FBI surveillance of mosques, with the same percentage rejecting the claim of American Muslim advocacy groups that Muslims are being singled out by investigators and police.

What are we to make of these figures? Do they mean that American Muslim advocacy groups have to do more to combat “Islamophobia”? That is the likely response: watch now for the follow-up stories about “Islamophobia,” in which the onus for all the attitudes displayed in this poll is placed firmly and solely upon non-Muslim Americans, as if Muslims were an entirely innocent, passive group that was doing nothing whatsoever to make anyone suspicious or angry at all. Newsweek itself led this off by asserting in another article published along with the poll that Muslims in America are “vulnerable as never before.” That story began with an account of a Muslim in Cleveland asking George W. Bush: “What are we doing with public diplomacy to change the hearts and minds of a billion and a half Muslims around the world?” The unspoken assumption behind this question is that Muslim fury at the West stems entirely from the actions of the United States and other Western countries, and not from anything within the Islamic world itself. Daud Abdullah, the Deputy Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), expressed another aspect of this view after the recent jihad plots were discovered in London and Glasgow, when he suggested that the religion of the attackers was incidental to their plots: “Let’s not create a hypothetical problem…it can be the work of Muslims, Christians, Jews or Buddhists.”

HotAir, MEMRI, Jihad Watch blocked by the Feds?

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

liberals3.jpg

I found over on Right Wing News. Somewhat shocking but not a surprise anymore in today’s environment. I hope this story gets more coverage to counter the deceitful terrorist loving leftist bastards.

Site Links: MEMRI - Hot Air - Jihad Watch

Hello. Robert Spencer here from Jihad Watch. Several days ago I received this email:

I wanted to drop a line about the inability to access JihadWatch at work. I work for the Fed Gov. Three weeks ago, Memri was blocked. Two weeks ago HotAir, which I used to look at on my lunch break for your updates, was blocked. As of Friday,June 29th, JihadWatch was blocked. I can however, visit CAIR, read anything about Islam, and even get the Arab news. The censors I deal with are from the Dallas area. It is very easy to see that this censor is not operating according to the proper rules of access. They are operating by their political beliefs (or hopes.) It is unfortunate that these people block the very information that we need in these times….

Also, all this week I have gotten emails telling me that Jihad Watch has suddenly been blocked in all sorts of places: Fidelity Investments, JPMorgan Chase, even the City of Chicago. Word is that Jihad Watch and other sites have suddenly been labeled as purveying “hate speech.”

This is a tried and true tactic of the Left: intellectually bankrupt as it is, it silences its critics rather than dealing with them on the level of ideas. They can’t answer us, so they try to shut us up and discredit us. Leftists, as well as apologists for Islamic jihad terrorism, label their opponents “hatemongers” and “bigots,” hoping thereby to make people of good will turn away from their message. And the politicized nature of this Internet censorship will come as a surprise to no one.

In reality, Jihad Watch is dedicated to the defense of human rights for all people against those who would impose Islamic law, with its institutionalized discrimination against women and religious minorities, over both Muslim and non-Muslim societies. There is no “hatred” in this, except when we report the words of hatred and supremacism of the Islamic jihadists. We are trying to raise awareness of the nature, extent, and goals of the global jihad, which threatens everyone who loves and cherishes freedom and the equality of rights of all people before the law.

And so, we are going to fight this, as best we can, and I am sure MEMRI and HotAir are also. Today I am going to contact every organization that, according to emails I have received, has banned Jihad Watch, and urge them to remove the ban. Wherever you are working today, if you get a chance please take a moment to check if you still have access to conservative sites — and if you don’t, lodge a respectful but firm protest. Let us not take lying down being vilified and silenced, when we are telling the truth.

Qaeda warns of attacks ‘worse than 9/11′

I’m sick of these America is evil bla bla bla, kill Jews bla bla bla, another 9/11 bla bla bla bitch fests. Just fuck off and die or tell your pending doom stories to John Edwards because he thinks Muslim terrorists are just a figment of our collective imagination anyway.

An American member of Al-Qaeda warned in an Internet video that US President George W. Bush should withdraw all his troops from Muslim land or face attacks worse than September 11. Adam Gadahn, a convert to Islam who has been indicted for treason by a US jury, issued a list of demands and warned they were not up for negotiation.“Your failure to heed our demands means that you and your people… will experience things that will make you forget all about the horrors of September 11, Afghanistan and Iraq, and Virginia Tech,” he said in the video posted on Tuesday.

“You’re losing on all fronts and losing big time,” said Gadahn, who is the English-language spokesman for Osama bin Laden’s terror network.

The tape entitled “Legitimate Demands” was produced by As-Sahab, a media outfit that specialises in Al-Qaeda online material.

Gadahn — sporting a headress, glasses and long beard — said Bush had “embroiled his nation in a series of unwinable and bloody conflicts in the Islamic world.”

He also called on the United States to cease support for the “bastard state of Israel” and the “56-plus apostate regimes of the Muslim world” and to free all Muslims from its prisons.

“We don’t negotiate with war criminals and baby killers like you. No, these are legitimate demands which must be met,” he said.

Born in 1978, Gadahn — also known Azzam al-Amriki and Azzam the American — is a native of southern California and has appeared in several videotapes for Al-Qaeda since 2004.

His conversion to Islam came after he began attending the Islamic Centre of Orange County in California, where he is believed to have come under the influence of two foreign-born Islamic radicals.

Gadahn’s reference to Virginia Tech was to the shooting of 32 people at the university by Korean-born gunman Cho Seung-hui who then turned the gun on himself.

My First Patriotic Act? Blowback results!!

Call this “blowback” part 3

I’m recycling this post from December of 2006. I’m glad I found so I don’t have to peck at the keyboard for the next hour.

Wrong on this matter, hardly; from my childhood experiences growing up in the capital of the liberal world, the San Francisco Bay Area, but also from my military experiences directly attributed to the type of work I use to do in the Air Force.

Was Ron Paul totally WRONG, of course not, actions has consequences, duh but for him, a “so-called” presidential candidate to make such a generic statement by saying they are bombing us because “WE ARE OVER THERE” is simply ludicrous.
That statement was made just to score some TV air time and nothing more.

Let’s listen to what Paul said again, then my little childhood story.

***

The other day Mrs. Snoop reminded me of one of my childhood tales. She recently told her father about this incident.

I went to high school part of the time in Oakland California. My school Skyline High was “high” in the Oakland hills tucked neatly away from the barbarians in the flatlands.

If anybody has seen a baseball or football game in the Oakland Coliseum the press box looks almost directly where I lived in the Oakland hills.
Skyline High school is over that ridge.

Skyline just like any other school allows so many kids from outside the school district to attend. So city busses ran special routes to bring the kids to the school.

One morning, beautiful bright day the busses entering the circle drive were greeted by chanting Iranian students, waving the Iranian flag and also burning the American flag.

There were about 12-15 of them. As people would depart the bus they were met by taunting anti-American chants.

Keep in mind this was shortly after the Americans were taken hostage in Iran, led by the current Iranian president.

Most of the kids on this particular bus were black. There were a few of my white homies, that I hung with, and we all rode together.  This was also one of the last busses to make the trip to the hills.

This was pretty much the party bus. Most of us had gym first period, so we usually played the music a little louder, and the bus filled with the aroma of burning plants, (wink, wink).

But as we turned into the school I remember seeing the strangest thing.  As we rounded the corner going up into the school we saw this shit going on.   We all got silent, the music turned off and we all just stared. The bus driver, slowed to a crawl as he approached the Pro-Iran students picketing and raising hell out front.

I remember saying to myself initially “fuck this” and turned to my buddy and said “lets stomp these mutherfuckers ass”.

Before we departed the bus in mass we told the bus driver to hold on, we kept our books and personal items on the bus.

We stormed off the bus, grabbed the Iranian flag from several of the Iranian dudes and started to burn it. As one of the Iranian dudes grabbed another participant as he tried to light the other end of the flag we all just started to pound on the bastard. Then all hell broke lose.

Several tried to get away as they ran down the hill trying the leave the school. However, they were caught and taken care of as well.

After about 10 to 12 fever pitched minutes, it was over. The bus driver had pulled over off the main driveway and we got our books, we gave each other hand slaps and went to class.

I remember the bus driver as we got back on the bus to get our stuff with this huge grin and shaking his head in approval.

The other funny thing was that no school officials came out to break up the mess during the ruckus nor did they say anything to any of us afterwards. The main office window was directly in front of the school.

I know some who may read this might think, “you were a bunch of thugs, what was so special about what you did?” Nothing, not a damm thing.

“What about their right to free speech?” you may ask, well I say fuck free speech in that case. We were a bunch of kids making our point.

It’s insulting to have these bastards come to this country, live high on the hog (Oklahoma lingo there), get an education, become successful by using the wonderful tools only available in our country, and then at the same time spit on and malign this nation.  You can’t have it both ways, in my book.

To understand part of my anger that sparked this incident. Many years earlier while in grade school I met a kid Hagope Hagopian (SP? Iranian kid), who was from Bagdad.

His parents were big time surgeons at one of the main hospitals in Oakland.

He said he had a brother who was an officer in the Iranian army.

I use to listen to him talk all kinds of shit about America, that American kids were stupid, American is evil and all kinds of weird propaganda crap.

Great example here, who knew!

Hell, I was a kid and my biggest worry was where the next pick-up football game was being played. But I remember listening to him rant all the damm time.

Why do you think he was like that? Because he was being taught to hate America and Americans, by his parents and Arabic friends/family. All while they were in the country and getting rich(er) because of it!

I think back to Glen Beck’s special where he showed clips of Muslim kids chanting anti Israel and anti Jew crap. Hagope was one of these kids.
His vocabulary and knowledge of the world was way ahead of mind.
He felt comfortable talking to me because he once told me that his “fellow” Iranians felt sorry for American blacks because white people still treat them like slaves and that blacks should become Muslims and fight against white superiority.

That shit did not mean anything to me because we lived on one of the nicest neighborhoods in Oakland, mom and dad made good money, my life was good and secure.  But this kid, my age, was already being taught to
hate me and those like me. Simply because we are/were Americans!

After I graduated from 7th grade  I never saw Hagope again.  I wonder if he ever went back to the land he so loved. I hope so. I would hate to think he’s still here, hating us but using us.

As I am now in my 40’s and the current state of the world I wonder where dude is today.

So for those of you who read this blog and get a sense of my anger and disdain for what I call terrorist pimps and other assorted anti American “sand niggas” my past plays an obvious role in shaping my current views.
I’m not prejudiced based upon what I was taught in the abstract. I’ve had at least two real world experiences, up close and personal, with the
hatred of Arabs, felt towards all Americans. I know what that kind of hate looks like, and it is not pretty!

I found this on Hot Air, you know sometimes I get caught up and post funny pictures of these terrorist idiots, but when you see what these bastards do to children it makes you sick.

All of those idiots who will be going to Washington DC this weekend, protesting the war should watch these clips, but the bad thing is they support and condone turing little kids into ticking time bombs.

Important Action Alerts are usually the province of the leftosphere but it’d good to get the word out about this one. Longtime MEMRI fans will recognize this sort of thing instantly, but most people aren’t longtime MEMRI fans, and nothing concentrates the mind about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict like seeing four-year-olds brainwashed into becoming the Arab equivalent of the Hitler Youth before one’s very eyes.

Jordan’s King Blames Israel, Ellison Chants in Arabic

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

ellison2.JPGFound via the Little Green Footballs headlines box (on the sidebar)

When Jordan’s King Abdullah addressed a joint session of Congress, he predictably chose to blame all of the world’s problems on Israel—and did not even mention Hamas: Jordanian King’s Address to Congress Draws Criticism For One-Sided Mideast Peace Outlook.

WASHINGTON —  Top House Democrats said Wednesday they are “disappointed” with Jordanian King Abdullah’s address to a joint meeting of Congress in which he singled out the plight of Palestinians without mentioning the role of Palestinian groups in preventing a Mideast peace.

In a room with a number of pro-Israeli politicians, the king devoted his speech to discussing an end to the conflict in the Middle East, but he focused primarily on the needs of the Palestinians and suggested that Israel was holding up the peace process.

At no point did he discuss the role of Hamas, the U.S.-designated terror group that is the majority partner in the Palestinian government. Hamas has refused to recognize Israel or change its charter calling for the destruction of the Jewish state.

“I meet Muslims thousands of miles away who have a deep, personal response to the suffering of the Palestinian people. They want to know how it is, that ordinary Palestinians are still without rights and without a country. They ask whether the West really means what it says about equality and respect and universal justice,” he said.

At least one Congressman was ecstatic at the King’s standard-issue “Arabs hate Israel” speech, though.

Abdullah set the tone for his 30-minute speech at the outset when he noted the historic make-up of the 110th Congress, which “welcomes its first woman speaker and its first Muslim-American member of Congress.” …

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison is the first Muslim member of Congress. Upon Abdullah’s recognition, he shook hands with his seated neighbors, Reps. John Lewis, Rahm Emanuel and Hoyer.

At the end of the speech when the king offered a traditional Arabic greeting for peace, Ellison vocally responded in kind. He was the only attendee to do so and gave an embarrassed laugh as people turned to look at him.

Doubts grow over Muslim lawmaker’s loyalty

Keith Ellison tied to group that holds Quran as highest legal authority

The first Muslim member of Congress is linked to a radical Islamic school of thought that requires loyalty to the Quran over the U.S. Constitution, WND has learned.

Rep.-elect Keith (Hakim-Mohammed) Ellison, D-Minn., has drawn fire for asking to take the constitutional oath on the Quran rather than the Bible at a swearing-in ceremony next month.

The Constitution specifies that members of Congress shall be bound by an oath to support the constitutional law of the land. In the oath, Ellison will be required to swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic … without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion.”

Critics argue he has conflicting loyalties, while Ellison insists he’s a patriot.

But within days of being elected, Ellison held a workshop on politics for a group closely affiliated with a radical Islamic school that preaches no Muslim can pledge loyalty to the Constitution or make laws outside the laws of the Quran, which the school’s leaders assert is the “supreme law” of the land, trumping all man-made laws including the U.S. Constitution.

A black convert to orthodox Sunni Islam, Ellison spoke to the North American Imams Federation, or NAIF, at the group’s Nov. 19 conference in Minneapolis.

His talk flowed into a breakout session listed on the agenda simply as “American Open University,” according to the conference program. It turns out the university is a “distance-learning” center based in Alexandria, Va., and known to local law enforcement as “Wahhabi Online.”

Later that day, Ellison met with NAIF’s president, Omar Ahmad Shahin, who lectures at the same American Open University. (He also met at the time with New York imam Siraj Wahhaj, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.) The radical Islamic school trains many of NAIF’s more than 150 members, who control mosques across America.

American Open University supports Sharia, or Islamic law. And its founder and chairman, Jaafar Sheikh Idris, has denounced the U.S system of democracy as “the antithesis of Islam” and argued no man has the right to make laws outside Allah’s laws expressed in the Quran.

“There is a basic difference between Islam and this form of democracy,” he says. “The basic difference is that in Islam it is [Allah’s] law as expressed in the Quran and the Sunna that is the supreme law within the limits of which people have the right to legislate.

“No one can be a Muslim who makes or freely accepts or believes that anyone has the right to make or accept legislation that is contrary to that divine law,” Idris adds. “Examples of such violations include the legalization of alcoholic drinks, gambling, homosexuality, usury or interest, and even adoption.”

Conversely, laws prohibiting polygamy and domestic violence also violate the Quran.

Further, he maintains that no Muslim elected to Congress or the White House can swear to uphold the U.S. Constitution and still be a Muslim.

“No Muslim could become president in a secular regime, for in order to pledge loyalty to the constitution, a Muslim would have to abandon part of his belief and embrace the belief of secularism – which is practically another religion. For Muslims, the word ‘religion’ does not only refer to a collection of beliefs and rituals, it refers to a way of life which includes all values, behaviors and details of living,” Idris says. “Separation of religion and state is not an option for Muslims because it requires us to abandon [Allah’s] decree for that of a man.”

He further explains: “Islam cannot be separated from the state because it guides Muslims through every detail of running the state and their lives. Muslims have no choice but to reject secularism for it excludes the laws of [Allah].”

Also, he asserts that “there is absolutely no compromise: Any belief that contradicts Islam is false.”

Backed by CAIR

ellison2.JPGEllison’s campaign was backed by the Washington-based lobby group Council on American-Islamic Relations, a partner organization to American Open University-affiliated NAIF. CAIR held fundraisers for Ellison, a civil-rights lawyer and one-time acolyte of Louis Farrakhan who admits to making anti-Semitic remarks in the past (under various alias including Keith Hakim, Keith Ellison-Muhammad and Keith X Ellison).

CAIR’s founder has argued the Quran should replace the Constitution as the highest authority in the land. The group’s director of communications, moreover, has expressed his desire to see the U.S. become an Islamic state. CAIR is an offshoot of the Islamic Association for Palestine, a suspected front for the terrorist group Hamas.

Pundit Dennis Prager and other critics have demanded Ellison take the constitutional oath on the Bible, arguing the constitution derives its authority from the Bible, not the Quran. If Ellison puts his hand on the Quran, Prager says he would be in effect nullifying his oath and undermining “American civilization.”

“He should not be allowed to do so,” he asserted in a recent column.

Another critic, Glenn Beck of CNN, questioned Ellison’s loyalties. “Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies,” he asked Ellison on a recent show.

“There’s no one who is more patriotic than I am,” Ellison replied. “And so, you know, I don’t need to prove my patriotic stripes.”

Others point out Ellison has shown a pattern of disrespect for U.S. laws, raising the question whether he’s qualified to make law. Failure to pay his taxes resulted in liens on his home. Failure to pay more than 40 parking and traffic tickets has twice led to suspension of his Minnesota license. He’s also racked up hefty fines from campaign finance violations and defended the leader of a cop-killing gang.
