Video: Crazed by Rush, Wes Clark calls for political discourse to be RATED

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

From Hot Air

He doesn’t say who’ll be doing the rating but he digs the idea of Congress yanking Rush Limbaugh off of Armed Forces Radio so presumably they’d be okay to head that up, too. The point he’s ostensibly trying to make is a simple one — that the U.S. government shouldn’t be broadcasting anything that harms its own military’s morale — but a standard that narrow wouldn’t let you regulate very much speech.
So he broadens it with a magnificently Orwellian invocation of “propriety” that has no discernible definition except his own arbitrary judgment about what does and doesn’t “cross the line.” Just laying a little groundwork for the Fairness Doctrine, planting a few seeds which he hopes will flower a few years from now.

I understand that I’m a very partisan guy and I have strong political views, I make fun of Democrats and liberals and some who may peep this site who may be left leaning may find some of my comments mildly offensive, but Wesley Clark is a fool however he is not alone.

I know some liberals that would listen to what Clark says and would think nothing of his ridiculously moronic statements.
How do seemingly reasonable people come to this moronic thinking?
Now forget that Clark has had ample time to get his facts straight on this Rush/Media Matters issue, but he chooses to STILL ignore the facts of the issue and is willing to go on television and distort facts.

Ya know during my work day I come in contact with a lot of folks in social settings all participating in some sort of educational forum or conference.
As I was setting up for one of the events the speaker had some clips from Fox News, I can’t remember the specific topic, but as one of the audience members who came to attend the presentation said to this presenter “you are not going to make us watch the Fox propaganda channel all day are you?” Another individual said, “news source for the less educated and ill informed, I don’t understand how people can watch that”
Man I was fuming, I wanted so bad to say something, these were two old white dudes, who lets just say works in the judicial system.

I still don’t get how any reasonable individual can make a determination on the quality and “truthfulness” of a broadcast network they don’t watch! Or a radio talk show host they don’t listen too.
I have heard more than a few national political pundits (in person) chastise the viewing audience of Fox News and listeners of Rush.

The will for “our” side to WIN, is so prevalent that reasonable processing of political discourse goes out the window.
Even if you don’t like how Fox News reports its stories with a right leaning slant, to make a determination of an individual’s intelligence based on where he or she chooses to get his or her information is just absurd.

I also overheard in a conversation during a presentation by an individual on Iraq, this was during casual conversation before the event, by a former U.S. Ambassador that “this war is purposefully sending poor kids to war as political fodder”, and “today’s military is made up of uneducated poor kids desperate to get a few dollars to feed their families.”

Folks this is the benefit of just listening to people. I rarely have conversations with people on politics or societal issues. That is why doing this blog is more for my self education, and as an outlet to express what is going on in my head than trying to “influence” anybody or anything.

As the lone darkie in so many social situations and because of the nature of my work many times as the fly on the wall, it’s safe for white liberal types to express their true biases and hang-ups during friendly conversation.
“Negros are one of us”, so it’s ok to spew retarded rhetoric, it’s likely that he is either ill informed or is incapable of processing our infallible and insightful liberal logic.

I learned a lot by listening to the leftist protesters in D.C. back in March of this year, the campaign slogans flowing freely from sufficiently programmed young skulls full of mush and the typical mindless liberal chants found at any Code Pink rally or Gay rights parade.

I learned much more from liberals at the 06 Daily Kos convention, as angry radicals leftists made their case promoting progressive causes and castigating the evil conservative propaganda machine.

As silly and inane as Clark sounded in the video, he is only doing his duty; he is on someone’s payroll. He simply sounds like every other clueless liberal promoting the voice of many mindless liberals who applaud the notion that people like Rush should be silenced at all cost, Negros like Clarence Thomas should be kept in his place, teaching kids about same sex partnerships in second grade is acceptable, abortion is birth control and we the taxpayers should be paying for it, God is a myth, income distribution is “necessary,” capitalism is evil, military personnel are uneducated puppets.

I guarantee you liberals will one day want to have blogs “rated” since bloggers are able to successfully filter and scrutinize liberal Democrat rhetoric.

Kerry’s ‘72 Army Comments Mirror Latest

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

I know y’all are like “damm dude enough about Herman!”
Er Uh, no NO. Why? Because Kerry was the Democrats choice last election cycle to lead this nation. Therefore until the Democrats nominate another individual as the presidential nominee Herman is it.
So anything he says and does is representative of the Democratic Party, because we all know that tis how y’all think anywho.

 By JOHN SOLOMON

WASHINGTON (AP) - During a Vietnam-era run for Congress three decades ago, John Kerry said he opposed a volunteer Army because it would be dominated by the underprivileged, be less accountable and be more prone to “the perpetuation of war crimes.”

Kerry, a decorated Vietnam veteran who turned against the war, made the observations in answers to a 1972 candidate questionnaire from a Massachusetts peace group.

After Kerry caused a firestorm this week with what he termed a botched campaign joke that Republicans said insulted current soldiers, The Associated Press was alerted to the historical comments by a former law enforcement official who monitored 1970s anti-war activities

Kerry apologized Wednesday for the 2006 campaign trail gaffe that some took as suggesting U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq were undereducated. He contended the remark was aimed at Bush, not the soldiers.

In 1972, as he ran for the House, he was less apologetic in his comments about the merits of a volunteer army. He declared in the questionnaire that he opposed the draft but considered a volunteer army “a greater anathema.”

“I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown,” Kerry wrote. “We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply ‘doing its job.’

“Equally as important, a volunteer army with our present constitutional crisis takes accountability away from the president and put the people further from control over military activities,” he wrote.

Kerry’s spokesman, David Wade, said Wednesday the historical document needed to be viewed in the era in which it was written but that it nonetheless raised a “bedrock question in a time of war when sacrifice should be shared by all Americans.”

“These are the words 34 years ago of a 28-year-old veteran home from a war gone wrong, wondering who in America will bear the cost of battle and shoulder the responsibility of military service,” Wade said.

Kerry filled out the candidate questionnaire at the request of Massachusetts Political Action for Peace, an anti-war group that decades later turned over its historical documents to university researchers.

AP obtained the document from someone who gathered it from archives during Kerry’s unsuccessful 2004 presidential campaign against President Bush. Republicans in that election relentlessly assailed Kerry’s role in the anti-war movement decades earlier.

Kerry and Bush renewed their rivalry again this week, with the president accusing Kerry of offending troops. Kerry said he botched the text of a joke and didn’t mean to insult troops.

On Wednesday, Kerry canceled campaign appearance on behalf of Democratic congressional candidates and issued an apology.

Since Kerry wants to go on the offensive instead of apologizing…

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

From Hot Air - Sen. John Kerry held a press conference moments ago (2:45edt)  to address a controversial remark he made implying those who are uneducated serve in the military and get stuck in Iraq. Kerry made it “crystal clear” that he apologizes to no one, adding his remarks were a “botched joke” about the President, not the troops.

Press Conference Video HERE.

The liberal bloggers will try and get their shit together and come up with excuses for “Herman”
But his attacks on the military are not new.

On Sunday’s edition of CBS’s “Face the Nation”, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass) said in an interview with Bob Schieffer that U.S. troops were terrorizing Iraqi women and children.

Here’s a blurb from the transcript:

“And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the–of–the historical customs, religious customs.”

And then he tells us who needs to be terrorizing the women and children:

“Whether you like it or not…  Iraqis should be doing that. And after all of these two and a half years, with all of the talk of 210,000 people trained, there just is no excuse for not transferring more of that authority.”

Once again, John Kerry shows us his disdain for the military and the lies he will spread to further the twisted agenda of the Democratic Party.  With everything else heard from Rep. Murtha and Howard Dean in recent days, it’s clear the liberal left doesn’t want democracy to take hold in Iraq.  They want us to fail so they can prop themselves up for the ‘06 and ‘08 elections.

Months After CNN Featured Him, CBS Showcases Same Anti-Bush Retired Marine

Friday, September 8th, 2006

Casting call, casting call! Former military personnel who are dissatisfied with the Bush Administration, thinks the Iraq war is wrong, thinks Rumsfeld should be fired, doesn’t think the U.S. can win the war on terror, thinks the military is not adequately equipped to fight in Iraq, thinks “current” military personnel is a bunch of torturing thugs, or you just hate that dude Bush! Give us a call.

Sincerely, CNN, CBS, ABC, Keith Olbermann, NBC, Chris Matthews, AP, Reuters…

By Brent Baker on Newsbusters

A small world of self-proclaimed “conservative” retired Marine Colonels disillusioned with President Bush, Republicans and the war in Iraq. Ten months after CNN’s John King featured criticism of the Iraq war from retired Marine Colonel Jim Van Riper, in an Anderson Cooper 360 story from North Carolina on supposed declining support for the war in a conservative area, CBS’s Byron Pitts traveled to the same state and located the very same Marine to demonstrate that on the war “even some life-long conservatives are no longer hearing the President’s message.” On Thursday’s CBS Evening News, Pitts touted the ex-Marine’s credentials: “Retired Marine Corps Colonel Jim Van Riper is a Christian, card-carrying member of the NRA who voted for President Bush twice. But as more Marines have died in Iraq, his confidence in the Bush administration died as well.” Van Riper asserted: “I don’t mind arrogance except when there’s dead bodies as a result.” Pitts explained how “Van Riper will vote for Democrats across the board,” and then cued him up: “If you could sit across from President Bush, what would you say to him?” Van Riper: “Sir, I’m disappointed.”

King signed off from Greenville, while Pitts reported from Jacksonville, the home of the Camp Lejuene Marine Corps base, presumably an area with thousands of retired Marine corps officers — yet CNN and CBS, ten months apart, stumbled upon the very same retired Marine Colonel — an amazing coincidence. (Transcript and more follows)

A November 21, 2004 Daily News (of Jacksonville, NC) news story, on Secretary of State Colin Powell’s resignation from the Bush cabinet, strongly suggests that Van Riper had turned against the war more than a year before CNN’s King touted his opposition as a fresh trend and more than 18 months before CBS’s Pitts trumpeted him. An excerpt:

“‘He was a product of Vietnam,’ said retired Marine Col. Jim Van Riper, who lives in Jacksonville. ‘He saw what a disaster that was.’

“Van Riper, who served in Vietnam and the first Gulf War, believes the Bush administration erred by not heeding the Powell Doctrine before marching to Baghdad. And while he ‘reluctantly’ voted earlier this month to re-elect the president, a cabinet minus Powell is now even less appealing, he said.

“‘Politics determines policy, and policy drives war,’ said Van Riper, 66. ‘Powell clearly understands that. He understood that winning the war wasn’t the entire thing — that knocking off Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi army wasn’t going to be the end of it.’

“’I don’t think he’s perfect, maybe too cautious. But he’s a hell of a lot better than Rumsfeld.’”
