Why ‘Islamophobia’ is a brilliant term - By Dennis Prager

What do anti-Semitism, racism and Islamophobia have in common?

In fact, nothing.

But according to Islamist groups, Western media and the United Nations, they have everything in common. Anti-Semites hate all Jews, racists hate all members of another race, and Islamophobes hate all Muslims.

Whoever coined the term “Islamophobia” was quite shrewd. Notice the intellectual sleight of hand here. The term is not “Muslim-phobia” or “anti-Muslimist,” it is Islam-ophobia – fear of Islam – yet fear of Islam is in no way the same as hatred of all Muslims. One can rightly or wrongly fear Islam, or more usually, aspects of Islam, and have absolutely no bias against all Muslims, let alone be a racist.

The equation of Islamophobia with racism is particularly dishonest. Muslims come in every racial group, and Islam has nothing to do with race. Nevertheless, mainstream Western media, Islamist groups calling themselves Muslim civil liberties groups and various Western organizations repeatedly declare that Islamophobia is racism.

Hot Air audio: How one wealthy jihad supporter is using UK courts to kill American free speech

It’s difficult to overstate the importance of this story. The Chronicle of Higher Education (sub. required) on Wednesday published an article about Khalid bin Mafouz, a wealthy Saudi banker, and his successful effort to persuade the Cambridge University Press to halt the publication of four books that detail how Saudi citizens use their wealth to finance global terrorism. One of those books, Alms for Jihad, was once on sale at Amazon and elsewhere, but it has been pulled from sale and copies of it are now being pulped. Cambridge has even sent out letters to libraries that stock it and the other three books, asking for their return so that they too can be pulped, meaning they will soon disappear, burying the details they contain on how terrorism finance works and who is behind it.

Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld of the American Center for Democracy is one of the authors whose books have been subject to judicial attack by Khalid bin Mafouz. I interviewed her about the case of the censorious jihad financier, and Cambridge Press’ cowardly capitulation to him. She is the author of Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed and How to Stop It. She is the only author to date who is fighting back.

The video shows a 14-year-old girl being stoned to death by members of her own family! Her crime? She was in love with a Muslim boy. 

NOTE: One of commenter’s pointed out correctly that the girl and her attackers WERE NOT MUSLIM they were from a minority Kurdish religious group called Yezidi.

Yes Snoop tends to bash Muslims, many times deservedly so, but this is not the case.

This was suppose to be an Honor killing? There is anything honorable about this?

Mosul, Iraq — According to the Kurdish website Jebar.info up to 1000 men from the Yezidi Kurdish community of Mosul killed a teenager who’s only crime was running away to marry a Muslim man whom she loved and converting to his religion.

For four months the girl had been given shelter by a local Muslim Sheik. It was reported that in the last few days her family persuaded her to return home, convincing her that she had been forgiven by her parents and relatives for her mistake.

In a short mobile video clip which appears to have been taken by locals at seen of the murder, the girl is seen being ambushed on her way home by a group of up to 1000 men who were waiting for her to return; the men killed her in the most brutal way possible, by throwing large stones on her head. The following clips show that while she is alive and crying for help she is taunted and kicked in her stomach until someone finishes her off by throwing a large stone on her face.

CAIR’s purpose is very clear. It is a grass roots organization that serves as America’s largest and most visible Muslim civil rights group. CAIR is to the Muslim community what the NAACP is to the African-American community or what the ADL is to the Jewish community.

This is how the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) is working to turn America’s democratic institutions and natural tolerance against itself.

Basim Elkarra, whose award from Barbara Boxer was rescinded after she investigated his group’s many links to convicted terrorists, is now claiming he’s received an email death threat. He blames Barbara Boxer … and Stuck Mojo. And “Islamophobia.”

And he’s already got the FBI investigating it for him: Muslim Leader Blames Senator Boxer for a Death Threat Against Him. (Hat tip: LSD.)

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — The executive director of the Sacramento chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said he believes a death threat against him was fueled by Senator Barbara Boxer’s actions. …

Elkarra claims Boxer was misinformed and has caved into the rise of Islamophobia in the United Stated.

“It empowers the extremists. Just recently we saw a video that came out, talking about open season on Muslims. It’s all over the Internet and people are bragging about killing Muslims. This has to stop. It’s unacceptable. Islamophobia is real, it’s here and we have to make sure our elected officials speak out against it.”

CAIR maintains it opposes terrorist activities and Elkarra said the people Boxer gathered her information from are extremists themselves, but anti-Muslim. “She was quoting from these individuals from Florida who have these hate and extreme right-wing Websites and she also consulted with anti-Muslim bigots. It’s really unfortunately she didn’t contact us and see our side of the story.”

Elkarra received his death threat through e-mail, and the FBI is now conducting an investigation.

Let’s leave aside the issue of the FBI springing into action, seemingly at CAIR’s beck and call. If he really received a serious threat it should be investigated, of course.

Weeks after allowing a terrorist organization that preaches radical Islamic ideology to conduct Muslim “sensitivity training” for federal officers, U.S. officials continue promoting the group by publishing its propaganda on a taxpayer-funded government web site.

This week the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) actually published a press release authored by the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a national organization that serves as the U.S. front for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. Evidently, CAIR approves of the special training that 45,000 TSA workers — responsible for security of the nation’s transportation system — received about Islamic traditions related to a Mecca pilgrimage known as to Hajj.

It bills itself as a Muslim civil rights organization but CAIR has been described by top FBI counter terrorism chiefs as an entity that not only promotes terrorism, but also finances it. One group has dedicated itself to documenting CAIR’s extensive terrorist ties which include a top official sentenced to 20 years in prison for participating in a network of militant jihadists, another convicted of bank fraud for financing a major terrorist group, a board member who was a co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and a fundraiser identified by the U.S. Treasury Department for financing Al Qaida.

It seems beyond belief that the U.S. Government would promote such a group or allow it to conduct any type of training for sworn federal officers. Just weeks ago, CAIR led the workshop on Islam and the American Muslim community for FBI agents and Joint Terrorism Task Force supervisory personnel in north Florida.

At least one U.S. lawmaker has publicly acknowledged how dangerous CAIR is. California Senator Barbara Boxer rescinded an award to an Islamic activist in her state because of the man’s connections to CAIR. A notoriously liberal Democrat, Boxer actually withdrew the certificate of accomplishment she had awarded a Sacramento activist named Basim Elkarra after learning that he is an official at CAIR because the organization “gives aid to international terrorist groups.”
