					<description>We actually had the same complaint just to your east about a dozen years ago.  When I lived in JoCo, there was a brief ruckus when the letters HOE started being issued on license plates. Based on the urbanesque homophone, such plates were judged to be too offensive to display publicly.

So the DMV shipped them to western Kansas where a hoe is simply a farm implement.</description>

					<description>I went thru a situation about 15 years ago where an opinion had to be re-written to omit the word "niggardly." It was used, of course, to denote someone being stingey with something.   But the one person in the office who had appointed herself the gatekeeper for all potentially racists conduct spotted it and raised holy heck with the powers that be.  The person who had written the opinion fought back, but ultimately lost.  I haven't seen anyone use that word anywhere since.</description>
