Phil Graham is 100% Correct Deal wit it!

Folks I’m not an economist, I can’t recite any Wall Street jargon or crunch the array of financial data needed to bring clarity to our complex economy.
I’m a simple Negro, living a simple life, with few needs or wants. I have a good solid job with modest pay, as middle class as someone can be in this country.

Yes, I hear about people losing their homes, and job layoffs and I too pay the high cost for fuel although I have a short commute, but Mrs. Snoop travels further but does carpool.

Folks stop listening to the news for a few days and just observe. Go to a mall, some casino if you live near one. When you drive around just observe the traffic volumes and look at the kind of cars people are driving. Go to a restaurant on a Friday night.
I was recently in New York in the heart of Manhattan. Fucken people everywhere, stores were packed, restaurants were full, and lines to every Broadway show were around the block.
At the airport my flight to NYC was full, airport eateries were full, everyone was yapping on their cell phones, all the kids had Ipods, people were carting around overstuffed suitcases with the usual crap.

If this economy is in collapse I don’t fucken see it. Yes if someone is losing their home because of the mortgage crunch I have seen numerous examples where people were buying damm homes that the KNEW they could not afford.

People spending their money on bullshit like their THIRD Flat screen TV, or paying way too damm much for a idiot hybrid vehicle, or 500, 600 700 a month car payments because they want to keep up with their neighbors.
The lady friend of my good friend is making an $800 per month car payment on her Corvette, not to mention that she has a $35,000 Jeep in her garage too.
I’ve mentioned before women complaining about the $80, $90 fill-ups at the gay pump because they are driving a damm vehicle that gets 10 miles to the gallon as they insist that they need their version of a fucken tank to cart their fatass kids around to all of their various activities. These same people buying their kids cell phones and packing movie theaters to check out the new summer blockbuster.

All of that and these same people will sit their ass in front of the TV and watch the evening news and bitch and moan that Bush has ruined their lives, that they can’t make ends meet and if these people looked around their damm house and saw the new living room set that is still being paid on, or again that Flat screen TV that is still being paid on, or the multiple digital cable boxes with HD programming, the numerous video game components, computer apparatuses, the pool table you purchased that you never play on, that fancy new bedroom set, that new hardwood floor , the cool deck furniture, the shiny new bike for Junior, this was after that trip you took the Disneyland or Branson or Mexico with the kids and you selfish out of touch idiot pricks, the ones who would insist that George W. Bush has ruined your lives, you read this story about Phil Graham and his revealing truth and your dumbasses got angry and reiterated what every other clueless liberal and Obama supporter and liberal blogger is likely saying this morning “Graham is out of touch with real Americans.”
Now you have McCain acting like a little bitch and catering to the ignorant masses by rehashing the old Bill Clinton phrase “I feel your pain”

Graham said that “We have never has more natural advantages than we have today”
Someone please tell me where he is wrong!
Graham being a surrogate for McCain should have kept these comments to himself.
However his comments should be used as a catalyst to make folks everywhere take pause and do some serious self evaluation.
Anyone who had a problem with his comment frankly is not being honest with themselves and likely are the ones who continue to see government as mommy and daddy.

You are so right about this. My husband and I, we don’t buy a lot of fancy stuff. We don’t have a flat screen tv or new cars. We bought a house we could afford. And we have a backup plan in case he loses his job. I have a hard time feeling sorry for some people. For example, I read an article about some woman in California, a single mom on a $40K income who couldn’t make the mortgage payment on her $400K+ house … I’m looking at that thinking we have a higher income and are living in a house that costs half of that. Sometimes a bunch of bad crap does happen to good people, to be sure. However, a lot of what we’re seeing right now is stupid people being bitch slapped by reality.

“stupid people being bitch slapped by reality”

    Exactly, Peggy

I bet we all can name a number of people hustling to buy their kids neat trendy clothing, or paying for them to take dance lessons and other various parent inspired activities that have no bearing on their upbringing but can quickly suck a meager paycheck dry.

People who spend shit loads of money on personal toys including excessive penis envy Hummers, or boats to impress the homies.

I remember friends who worked for the various aircraft industries who use to complain that their bonuses were not high enough. Their bonuses would equal my yearly salary and as soon as these people got those bonuses they went straight to the mall or car dealership.
Then when the aircraft industry had some serious setbacks particularly after 9/11 these people were featured on news stories wondering where all the money went along with the jobs.

Like your example. A shitty house in California is $400,000 but it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out if you are not making high six figures yo ass should either not be buying a house or move if you seek the American dream of home ownership.

I’ve been watching the reaction to Graham’s comment and I’m just amazed at how so many Americans are turning into such pussies.
We refuse to look in the mirror and say to ourselves I (we) need to cutback we need to take responsibility for our own financial destiny.
We don’t need that new car, home, boat, lengthy vacation, new cell phone, air purifying vacuum cleaner, Air Jordans, spinner rims, built in headrest the Hotpoint oven, that next pack of cigarettes.

This Graham comment controversy for some reason irritates the shit out of me because pundits and media types are using it to rev up more “oh woe is me” politics.
This is why an Obama presidency is going to be a fucken disaster because it will encourage more of this whining bullshit.

Maybe I’m just cranky today and need a strong drink! LOL!

I think I need a drink too. Been having a hankering for a margarita. The hot weather (you’d laugh at what I call “hot”)seems to make my taste buds want one.

You know what’s so damned funny. I read an editorial that was talking about Jesse Jackson’s comments. Specifically, the article centered on Jackson’s accusation that Obama was condescending to black people. The author, though not an Obamaphile, reached the conclusion that Obama’s so-called “condescension” was just a repackaging of Bill Cosby’s much maligned observance - that black people have been shifting the blame and should be held responsible for their own behavior. Now I see this as a positive assertion, and obviously it undermines Jackson’s entire approach to life. It’s just funny to me that Cosby gets slammed for his views but Obama touches it and it becomes gold - at least in the eyes of the media.

As positive to me as this message may be, I don’t believe that Obama is a great healer who can move us beyond racial division. He focuses too much on his own “blackness” to allow that. I don’t believe his solutions are anything more than an expansion of the government entitlement programs he is castigating people for exploiting. He still fans the grievances of the “have nots” in America. At the same time, he has an elitist personality which is logically, as he has demonstrated many times, condescending to middle and lower income Americans.

Yet the media do all they can to paint him as some exalted, almost spiritual, gift to humanity. They wear their “O” faces every time they ejaculate his praises on television. It’s disgusting to see. I think if they want to comment on Obama, they should get a hotel room to do it.

I just had to say….RIGHT ON! The left loves to create this mentality though….it means more people who think they need the government to survive. Then when the government fails and leaves us in worse shape….what do they say the answer is….MORE government….

    The vicious cycle continues….

Just heard that McCain threw Graham under the bus for talk like this.
