Gets money from sleazoid Chicago money, pals around with far left (the bomb throwing, bank robbing kind), marries his how-to-be-homey teacher, spends 20 years picking up how-to-win-friends and influence the weak minded from Rev Wright et al (but doesn't notice any untoward politics).
