Welcome back Snoop!

Have Mrs. Snoop contact Mrs. cfdxprt, she's got some trick on getting Broadway tickets that isn't foolproof, but when it works they're really cheap. I think we paid somewhere between $25 and $30 apiece to see Chicago when we were there.

Dude, I hate New York. Been there three times - even stayed at the hotel that used to sit between the twin towers once - hated every minute of it. If there's a hell, I think it's going to look a lot like Broadway.

The first time Mrs. Snoop and I went I said to her at the time that if I were single I could live there. Since my last visit I changed my tune.
I don’t mind visiting cause I know I’m going home, LOL!

I think the people who live there are just addicted to all the hustle and chaos.
I don’t mind it for a couple of days but after riding a subway, or being stuck in a taxi in traffic, or the stench of trash on the streets (I mean the piles of trash before the garbage folks are able to pick it up) the masses of humans walking down the street how someone can actually get use to that is just fascinating to me.

Like I said if I were wealthy, could ride in a Limo from point A to B, worked in a cushy office, had one of those fashionable pads on the upper east side, MAYBE!

The fact that I can look out my office window and barely can make out the houses and apartments because of all the trees is something I will never take for granted.

The other thing I could not get used to is the constant siren noises from virtually non-stop emergency and police vehicles it’s just nuts.

The auto horn blowing was significantly reduced because according to some chick on the shuttle on the way to the hotel they passed an ordinance prohibiting excessive horn blowing.

Sounds like you had a good time, Mr. Snoop. I've only spent about 7 hours in NYC - I drove there from Long Island so I could go to the top of the Empire State Building.

There were too many people. Everywhere. And everything cost way too much. But it's and interesting place, and I'd love to go again to see a Broadway Play and the art museums.

I could live almost anywhere, if I had enough to eat and my loved ones close by. Humans are adatable creatures. I love some aspects of NYC - the diversity of people, the wonderful theater events, the plethora of great places to eat, the incredible array of museums and art work. I do not like much of it - the high cost, the filthy streets and air, the rudeness, the lack of greenery, the crowds. I tolerate most of it when there, b/c I know I'm going back to good old Kansas. We get/got sick of the "Toto" and Dorothy references (our stewardess called her Marilyn). But I don't mind others being ignorant of how good things are in KS. So we are happy to tell them "yup...it is so backwards back there; there's cows in all the roads, a tornado every day, and no theater or restaurants at all." It helps keep the nuts and goof balls to a minimum...and allows my husband to keep his office with the gorgeous view of a small forest in the heart of a city!

Heh. The last thing we need around here are a bunch of New Yorkers moving in. Then they would want New York laws and ways of doing things, and I rather like the fact that I'm a country bumpkin with a bunch of land I can do anything I want to with!
