NBC is screwed! An entire network is unable to replace political giant
SCRAMBLE: NBC at a loss how to replace Tim Russert…
There is not much I can add to the tributes to Tim Russert, he was unquestionably the top political guru on television and of course Meet the Press was “the” program to watch for all of us political junkies.
Tim Russert on Sunday mornings was must see TV when you needed to check on hot political issues from the previous week.
His death however just shows how incredible fucked up NBC is. There is not a single credible individual in the entire network that can adequately replace him.
There is talk of David Gregory and others including Chris Matthews which just makes me cringe and Andrea Mitchell GAG!
Virtually everyone at the network involved in politics was a Democratic liberal hack and is incapable of being a fair political interviewer.
If I were to pick someone Joe Scarborough would be my choice.
Even though he has a morning show and has been on TV for awhile I am not sure about his interview, show prep and interrogation skills.
Matt Lauer would be decent as well but I doubt he would want to spend the time prepping for MTP and still do the Today Show. He makes too much money and is on the top morning gig.
Anywho, Tim will be missed. As a long time political junkie he is one dude in my mind that is just irreplaceable in the political arena.
The game of politics simply will not be the same without him.
