Question for you Yard Nazis out there….

“Wendy and Peter Lagozzino have lived in their Queen Anne home for over 30 years. They face a $650 fine from the city because their flowers hang over the sidewalk. “

Ok I’m listening to Rush and he brings up this story. I’ll admit every time I hear a story about the city of Seattle I immediately thing what are these fucken liberal retards out there doing now.
So I find the link and look at the pictures and say to myself shit they should be fined!

Now I’m an admitted semi Yard Nazi. My lawn is not perfectly manicured but I keep my yard cut nice and keep it clean but simple and I’m one who believes that neighbors should work together to keep a neighborhood clean and to help keep property values up.
I have serious issues with people who don’t care for their yard particularly when it is populated with dandelions and weeds and looking like shit. I totally get the whole property rights thing but as a former neighborhood association organizer I’m slightly sensitive to yard care issues.

On this issue is a fine in order, is it stupid, excessive. Snoop mind you own fucken business this is a property rights issue!
To me this looks like a fucken jungle. Flowers are cool but the yard to me is way out of control particularly when you look at the other homes.

The rest of the photos can be seen here

What ya think, c’mon I’m bored nothing newsworthy today, LOL

  1. Mrs. Snoop Says:

This is not simply a yard issue. It is a sidwalk issue. Sidewalks do not belong to the property owner 100%. They are on a public easement. Meaning from the get-go, the public has a right to use them. If this owner has prevented the rest of the world from walking on THEIR sidewalks, the fine (and more) is in order.

P.S. If you are bored, I could always use attention from you!! LOL.

Mrs. Snoop: You make me laugh! If the yard is making it difficult for the city to maintain the sidewalk, then yeah the property owner is responsible for cleaning it up or facing a fine.

However, I hope the city first called their attention to the problem and gave them a time frame within which to correct it before slapping the fine on them.

the sidewalk looks fine. the yard looks like a hot tranny mess.

Snoop, this post has bothered me for a while, sort of back of the mind stuff. What’s missing is the realization that the Lagozzinos are actually doing fine job of following a garden tradition that can be traced back to the 12th century. The nazis here are their dumb neighbors and their invoking of the garden police.

There’s an aesthetic here involving freedom, expression and naturalism. Think of it like your blog. Or conversely, think of officials telling you how to post here.

Personally, I side with freedom and bushy plants. Sure beats being chained to my damn yard any day.
