‘We have seen an X-ray of a very dark soul’

By Michael Goodwin - NY Daily News

SICK. Disgusting. And yet revealing. Hillary Clinton is staying in the race in the event some nut kills Barack Obama. It could happen, but what definitely has happened is that Clinton has killed her own chances of being vice president. She doesn’t deserve to be elected dog catcher anywhere now.Her shocking comment to a South Dakota newspaper might qualify as the dumbest thing ever said in American politics.

Her lame explanation that she brought up the 1968 assassination of Robert Kennedy because his brother Ted’s illness was on her mind doesn’t cut it. Not even close.

We have seen an X-ray of a very dark soul. One consumed by raw ambition to where the possible assassination of an opponent is something to ponder in a strategic way. Otherwise, why is murder on her mind?

It’s like Tanya Harding’s kneecapping has come to politics. Only the senator from New York has more lethal fantasies than that nutty skater.

We could have seen it coming, if only we had realized Clinton’s thinking could be so cold. She has grown increasingly wild in her imagery lately, invoking everything from slavery to the political killings in Zimbabwe in making her argument for the Florida and Michigan delegations. She claimed to be the victim of sexism, despite winning the votes of white men.

But none of it was moving the nomination needle, with Obama, despite recent dents, still on course to be the victor.

So she kept digging deeper, looking for the magic button. Instead, she pushed the eject button, lifting herself right out of consideration.

Giving voice to such a vile thought is all the more horrible because fears Obama would be killed have been an undercurrent to his astonishing rise. Republican Mike Huckabee made a stupid joke about it recently. Many black Americans have talked of it, reflecting their assumption that racists would never tolerate a black President and that Obama would be taken from them.

Clinton has now fed that fear. She needs a very long vacation. And we need one from her.

Say good night, Hillary. And go away.

Found these comments on Tennessee Guerilla Women

Uhgg, I am so sick of this hysteria over Clinton’s Kennedy comment. It had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with Obama. And frankily I find it insulting in light of the misogyny that women live with everyday.

I can’t even post the comments I read about hillary on the internet, but yesterday they involved several recommendations that somebody sexually violate her with farm instuments. 431 posts as a matter of fact, calling for one form of violence or another towards Clinton.

As a female you learn to block this stuff out, because it’s so prevelent in our culture. We don’t even think of it as death threats, as promises of bodily harm. Instead it’s simply a way of life, part of our culture. If you actually paid attention, you’d probably go insane, it’s like being surrounded by a cult of serial killers.

The media can use terms towards Hillary such as “gasping for breath, “in her death throes”, “when is somebody going to take her out,” “nail the coffin shut”, etc, etc. Dogwhistles for death are a matter of routine when talking about women on the news. And it’s not limited to Hillary Clinton. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, etc, they’re all subjected to the same misogynistic language.

But who is everyone worried about? Obama. Nevermind that the most recent political assassination involved a female, Benazir Bhutto. Nevermind that the country’s new national pastime is playing Hillary deathwatch.

And of course in the insanity of sexism, while they are threatening you with constant death and violent maiming, they’re also accusing you of being a monster. A Fatal Attraction who just won’t die, someone so dangerous if you choose them for VP, you’d need to hire a food taster.

yttik, very well put. It’s pervasive and perverted, and we’re all so inured to it that we just carry right on, hardly skipping a beat. There’s a lot a wonderful things about this great country, but the macho “women aren’t good for more than fucking, fixing dinner and ironing shirts” is a real downer. And the woman Obots delude themselves in thinking that the MSM really thinks otherwise.

Hillary’s candidacy threatens the status quo much more than Obama’s, which I believe is the catalyst for a large portion of the Hillary-hate. Sadly, a lot of women are comfortable with the status quo.

You’re a better man than I am, reading whackjob blogs like that. I have enough insanity in my life as it is, just living in this third-world shithole is enough to make any Westerner nuts. But I’m with you: Hillary has lost it completely, there’s no turning back, and even if what she hopes for happens (God forbid), why on earth does she think she’ll be the nominee instead of the prime suspect? All in all, with her well-documented insatiable thirst for power, I’m not surprised that it finally pushed her over the edge. I’m only surprised that it took so long.

I don’t mind reading and listening to opposing views. I’m a bit more fascinated with this particular site because TGW and Taylor Marsh is so pro Hillary. I honestly don’t understand how people support her.
Mrs. Snoop and I talk about this all the time, if you know her background, her lies, her deceit, what allows someone to say to themselves despite her saying basically I hope someone puts a bullet in Obama’s head I think she should be president.
I wish someone could clearly articulate this to me. However when I talk to the few Hillary supporters I know their support is totally superficial. I then ask about some of her past lies, verbal campaign oops whatever and most of the time they either don’t know or simply don’t care.

I have no problem with opposing views either, hell, if I wanted conformity, I’d walk around with a tape recorder and play it back afterwards. Variety is what makes life interesting. But some sites are too over-the-top for me, so I rarely visit unless I have a specific purpose in doing so.

To try to address your second point, about people swallowing Hillary’s B.S., from what I’ve seen, people on the Left tend to become emotionally invested in their candidates, whether they know much about them or not. For Libs, there’s always some “man on horseback” (or woman in this case) who’s going to ride in to save the day. Free healthcare for everyone! Bailouts for mortgages you shouldn’t have qualified for in the first place! Confiscatory taxes on oil companies! People on the Left tend to swallow these rather emotional appeals, and their ignorance of (and contempt for) history leads them to believe that, no matter what this candidate did in the past, now is all that counts. The Hillary supporters you know seem to illustrate that perfectly. Now, exacly WHY they swallow the B.S. is something I can’t answer.

Conservatives are certainly not immune to these tendencies, but on the whole, we tend to look at all candidates with a somewhat jaundiced eye, perhaps because we have less inherent belief in the efficacy of government. Our first reaction to a problem is not to look for a government solution, unless it’s one that clearly merits it (i.e., 9/11 attack).

Because we have a greater respect for history, we tend to care about what a candidate actually did in the past, not just what he’s promising today. That’s a big reason McCain isn’t getting much traction on the Right. We’ve seen what he’s done, and the reaction is either “no way”, or “I’ll hold my nose, close my eyes, and take one for the team” in order to prevent a worse alternative, but that hardly translates into unbridled support. Respect for history as a guide to determining future behavior is also a huge reason why we tend to be very suspicious of Hillary, and say to Obama, yes, Bill Ayers’ past DOES matter (as does yours, Senator Present).

I don’t know if that helps or not, but it’s how I see things from my viewpoint here in the concrete jungles of Southeast Asia. Feel free to shoot holes in it.
