And he has been unusually successful raising money.Now, he’s raising money by raising the dead.The Times’ campaign finance expert Dan Morain has found Obama campaign records reporting a $50 donation by Roy Scheider, who lists his occupation as actor and his home as Sag Harbor, N.Y.
Remember him from many great movies including “The French Connection” and “Jaws” and the immortal line: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat”?
According to the campaign records, Scheider made the donation on March 10 last month.
Trouble is, Scheider died exactly one month before that, on Feb. 10 at the age of 75. Just another example of Hollywood’s undying affection for Democrats.
Obama recently reported other donations from breathing actors: Sam Waterston $2,300, Lynn Redgrave $600, Sydney Poitier $250 and Treat Williams $100.
Scheider was unavailable for comment. However, informed of the deceased donor’s generosity, an Obama campaign spokesman said late Tuesday it had come under a monthly credit card donation program and that it would be halted this month. The $50 March donation would be donated to another cause, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been waiting weeks for Marlon Brando to return its calls. Same for John McCain and Charlton Heston.

The New York Times, which endorsed Hillary Clinton, criticized her in a blistering edit published online tonight for running a nasty PA campaign. The piece was, not surprisingly, circulated by Barack Obama’s campaign.
NYT: The Pennsylvania campaign, which produced yet another inconclusive result on Tuesday, was even meaner, more vacuous, more desperate, and more filled with pandering than the mean, vacuous, desperate, pander-filled contests that preceded it.Voters are getting tired of it; it is demeaning the political process; and it does not work. It is past time for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to acknowledge that the negativity, for which she is mostly responsible, does nothing but harm to her, her opponent, her party and the 2008 election.
If nothing else, self interest should push her in that direction. Mrs. Clinton did not get the big win in Pennsylvania that she needed to challenge the calculus of the Democratic race. It is true that Senator Barack Obama outspent her 2-to-1. But Mrs. Clinton and her advisers should mainly blame themselves, because, as the political operatives say, they went heavily negative and ended up squandering a good part of what was once a 20-point lead.
On the eve of this crucial primary, Mrs. Clinton became the first Democratic candidate to wave the bloody shirt of 9/11. A Clinton television ad — torn right from Karl Rove’s playbook — evoked the 1929 stock market crash, Pearl Harbor, the Cuban missile crisis, the cold war and the 9/11 attacks, complete with video of Osama bin Laden. “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen,” the narrator intoned.

The primaries coming up in the next two weeks - Indiana and North Carolina - are likely to give Obama back a goodly portion of those delegates. By the time all the primaries have been held, after June 3, there is no doubt that Obama will lead by more than 100 elected delegates, and likely 150. From there, it will be an easy route to the nomination.
The Democratic superdelegates aren’t about to risk a massive and sanguinary civil war by taking the nomination away from the candidate who won more elected delegates. If they ever tried it, we’d see a repeat of the demonstrations that smashed the 1968 Chicago convention and ruined Hubert Humphrey’s chances of victory.

Check this link out. Page 17 lists the salaries and extra payments for Kansas state lawmakers. No wonder the Legislative session lasts longer and longer every year. We give the legislators almost $200 a day EXTRA pay for every day they are in session! That’s over and above their already grossly over-inflated yearly salary over $82,000 per year.
They aren’t earning this salary. Not even close. Most of the real “work” is done by Legislative staff; they draft the bills language (according the wishes of the people who support a particular bill). They keep track of meeting times and following procedures. They come to work on time and don’t leave until after the bosses do. And the vast bulk of them are not paid as much as the politicians who barely understand what is going on around them (if at all). In addition, each year there is an increase in the number of “resolutions” – do nothing statements of policy supported by the members of a particular house (or both). Do we really want to pay people $82,000 per year to re-name highways, tell the US Congress how we feel about illegal immigration, and pass laws that allow them to by-pass the laws that apply to all other branches of government (e.g. state surplus laws, state open government laws, state conflict of interest laws…etc.)? I sure don’t.
But apparently we are so used to being bilked and buffaloed by our lawmakers that the majority of voters don’t care that these well paid Legislators are spending many millions to improve the looks of the place they work and increasing the number and value of the perks they get for having their titles, while the rest of the state budget requests are in limbo and in danger of more cuts.* While many Kansans struggle to keep their lights turned on, the state house is now lit with hand-cut, hand-blown Austrian Crystal globes. While many Kansans are cutting back on the days they eat meat, so they can afford the gas it takes to drive to work, the Legislators have given themselves a break from the state surplus laws, so they can purchase their “old” (2 years) laptops at Goodwill prices. While most Kansas employees must pay for parking if they work in Topeka, the Legislators spent millions to tunnel under the state house and give themselves free parking.
I know I’ve said it before, but I will say it again – anyone who wants to pass laws that apply to other people should only be allowed to do so if and when the laws they pass apply to them too!
Now, I want to add one more thing; anyone who works for the people should never get paid for more for work then they would pay their constituents for their jobs, and no pay at all for anything that does not actually benefit their employer (the public).
I think those yahoos across the street owe me, and every Kansan, a big fat apology for all of our time and money that they waste annually. In addition to an apology, I want a big refund. Now. How about they pay each of us for all the time they waste giving themselves extra perks or doing nothing?
There are currently 40 state senators and 125 state representatives. That is 165 people who run the state and are paid $82,000+ per year ($200 per day extra when they are actually at work). That is $13,530,000 (not counting the $200 per day bonuses). The US Census office ** reports that there are approximately 2,764,075 residents in Kansas, as of 2006. Divide that 2,764, 075 into the $13,530,00 and that means that each year we all (man woman and child) pay about $5 a year to support them.
I could use an extra $5 per year in income. Couldn’t you? I’d have a whole lot more to show for it then I get from my state representatives!

This is an election about whether the people of Pennsylvania hate blacks more than they hate women. And when I say people, I don’t mean people, I mean white men.
How ironic is this? After all this time, after all these stupid articles about how powerless white men are and how they can’t even get into college because of overachieving women and affirmative action and mean lady teachers who expected them to sit still in the third grade even though they were all suffering from terminal attention deficit disorder — after all this, they turn out (surprise!) to have all the power. Since no one asked me, here is my thought on all that. I think it’s a nice thing if people want to wear a flag on their lapel. But I believe it more important to keep the flag behind our lapel in our hearts. I feel the same way about wearing my religion on my sleeve. It just fits me better on the inside. When I go to see our local baseball team, I do wear my Washington Nationals baseball cap. But am I less a fan if don’t wear it to work? The truth is I have been known to wear a red, white and blue stars and stripes tie on the Fourth of July. But am I less patriotic when I trade it for my Santa Claus tie at Christmas? Patriotism is no more about signs or pins than religion is about reminding others how pious we think we are. No, the proof in these puddings is not the signs that we wear, but how we act. Wouldn’t that also be a better way to judge our presidential candidates than by the jewelry they wear?”

So even this liberal blog one of the most read liberal sources for bullshit apparently does not get it. They supposedly follow the antics of Hillary and Obama better than I and they are still hopelessly ignorant of the facts.
We have had a fucken year to absorb the “issues” and still to this day if you ask the average Obama supporter where he stands on “the issues” they still don’t fucken know.
I’ve asked several students who are Kansas delegates where does Obama stands on some basic issues and all they could give me was campaign talking points teleprompter rhetoric.Now they did know about the lapel pin flap, blaming the MSM and “right wing talk shows” for the issue getting so much attention.
Then I asked, do you know how the issue came about in the first place? After looking confused they finally acknowledged that they were not familiar with the origins of the issue.This is liberalism in a nutshell, consistently and willfully ignorant of the facts.
Once more for the liberal illiterates, we don’t care about Obama’s fucken lapel pin. What we do care about his is amazing ability to show major lapses in intellect and judgment during this campaign when he is not in front of a damm teleprompter.
This is what happens when you don’t have a core political soul and you surround yourself will other moronic anti-American liberals feeding bullshit into your head.
If he is incapable of applying simple logic and common sense to dealing with a clothing item how the fuck will he manage dealing with real world issues.
