It's going to be at $4.00 per gallon, nation wide, within the month (if it's not already there). And I predict it will hit $5.00 per gallon before it stops rising. The "good" news is that such a rate is about what it has been in other countries, for a lot longer. So maybe the "global economy" people are finally goind to be happy?

Meanwhile, doing quick & dirty math shows me that at $4 per gallon, in my car (that gets about 30 miles per gallong (mpg)), my daily 5 days per week commute (of about 25 miles) costs me about $28-35 per week in gas. If I work 50 weeks a year (2 off for vacation) that's $1750 a year I spend in gas to get to work! So a "simple" 36 hour trip to DC and back (18 hours each way, 2240 miles round trip) in a car getting 20 miles to the gallon would cost around $500! Still cheaper then flying......
