Absolut Reconquista Update: Coming to a billboard near you?

The beverage of open-borders used to be Miller Light. Now, it is Absolut Vodka. The vodka maker’s latest ad redraws the map of North America to please Mexican consumers.

At first, I admit, I was P.O’d. Then I thought, hmmmm? Let’s see. We’d get rid of most of the illegals and all the debt they create. We’d get rid of Hollywood loudmouths plus the garbage the entertainment industry produces. Gone would be San Francisco and Berkley with the “we hate everybody but freaks”. California is going to have a major earthquake in the next several years and cost the country a bundle in
    disaster aid.

I’d miss my uncle in Texas. He’s 90. Got to admit. That might be the only down side.

Don’t just boycott Absolut. The company that owns them, V&S, also sells Penfolds wines and other products. Check out their site.
The disgraceful marketing firm Teran/TBWA also does ads for Adidas, Pedigree DDog Food, Nextel, FujiFilm and others.

So I got wind of this after reading an article in my local newspaper (San Diego Union-Tribune. Personally I think the ad itself is savvy. Political opinions aside, nobody can deny that its the history of the land. It was an ad targeted at the Mexican consumer base that some US (probably white?) citizens saw and took offense too. Get over it. Its just an ad. Do you really want to boycott this alcohol brand? Fine, it your free choice to do so and more power to you. I do ask that if you stay that course that you spread that “gospel” and all do your darndest in towns like San Diego, CA and all other border towns next month on May 5, 2008 at ALL bars to prevent not just consumption of Absolut brand alcohol, but all alcohol consumption for a (on ho!) “Mexican” drinking day. Just my $.02. Have a great day.

You know I’m all about information. I’ll freely admit the immigration and border issue is a sore subject with me.
If a company is doing business in the United States and wants to create an ad basically dissing America’s “evil” takeover of Mexican territory then the masses who consume alcohol need to be aware of shit like this.

If the ad executives think this shit is funny and they obviously did a lot of research on the ad thinking it would go over with the Mexican consumer they are free to do so.

Let say they created an ad basically depicting white people as slaves instead of blacks, ad “In An Absolut World” that shit would not go over. It not only would be offensive but totally unnecessary.

Absolut was not going to sell more Vodka with the ad, the ad was just plain stupid.
They are saying with the ad, “fucken gringos, you need to take your land back”
I just think people should be aware of the ad and decide for themselves whether or not to patronize these idiots.

I’m not a boycotting sort of dude, but I am somebody that just believes should be aware of crap like this so they can draw their own conclusions. sorry for the long reaponse….
