Those who have seen him in action have probably noticed something weird about America’s favorite Democratic presidential candidate with a decent jump shot. Obama’s always so … hopeful. Is it all the coke and the weed? Or is he consuming more prescription meds than Cindy McCain on a six-day bender at the Naval infirmary?READ THE REST
The NAFTA - Obama story gets more interesting.I called CTV to verify the story, especially given the Obama campaign’s cries that it’s “inaccurate.” After asking Greg McIsaac of CTV if they were sticking by their story, he quickly called me back with verification. The facts of our story are accurate.
Then why are the traditional media and Obama blogs pushing Obama’s side of the story that the CTV story is “innacurate?” That an embassy spokesperson alone proves the reporting is wrong? Back channels exist, which means skepticism should apply, especially with CTV standing by the facts of their story:
Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama’s campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada’s ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.
The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value. … ..
Just when you think identity politics can’t parody itself any better (or worse), along comes a new set of race-mongers with an even more absurd set of grievances.A story in today’s Washington Post reads like a lead story in The Onion (via HA Headlines):
When Barack Obama announced his candidacy for president last year, some observers questioned whether the senator from Illinois was “black enough” to embody the hopes and aspirations of African Americans. Now a variation on that theme has emerged: Is Fred Armisen, who is not African American, “black enough” to embody Obama on “Saturday Night Live”?
“It’s a constant sense of guilt,” Obama, dressed simply in a blue sweater with a triple strand of pearls, tells the women of her own dilemma as a working mother. “It’s guilt, feeling guilty all the time.”
As she has many times in the past, Mrs. Obama complains about the lasting burden of student loans dating from her days at Princeton and Harvard Law School. She talks about people who end up taking years and years, until middle age, to pay off their debts. “The salaries don’t keep up with the cost of paying off the debt, so you’re in your 40s, still paying off your debt at a time when you have to save for your kids,” she says.“Barack and I were in that position,” she continues. “The only reason we’re not in that position is that Barack wrote two best-selling books… It was like Jack and his magic beans. But up until a few years ago, we were struggling to figure out how we would save for our kids.” A former attorney with the white-shoe Chicago firm of Sidley & Austin, Obama explains that she and her husband made the choice to give up lucrative jobs in favor of community service. “We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we’re asking young people to do,” she tells the women. “Don’t go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we’re encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.” Faced with that reality, she adds, “many of our bright stars are going into corporate law or hedge-fund management.”
What she doesn’t mention is that the helping industry has treated her pretty well. In 2006, the Chicago Tribune reported that Mrs. Obama’s compensation at the University of Chicago Hospital, where she is a vice president for community affairs, jumped from $121,910 in 2004, just before her husband was elected to the Senate, to $316,962 in 2005, just after he took office. And that does not count the money Mrs. Obama receives from serving on corporate boards. She would have been O.K. even without Jack’s magic beans.
Police in Las Vegas have begun investigating the discovery of a bag of the deadly poison ricin in n Extended Stay hotel. After a guest brought the bag to the front desk, he and several employees had to go through a decontamination process. Police also found castor beans, the source of ricin, in the same room.
Senator Barack Obama threw African-Americans under the bus once again…
Thursday, February 28th, 2008
Man there is just tons of Obama reading out there, I’m not posting all of this Obama stuff cause I want to pile on the dude, but there is a lot of interesting reading out there, I know I can’t put freaking everything on this blog. I may have to create some sort of Obama link thing on my sidebar.
This is a piece I found on the blog Booker Rising, moderate black dude, via another blog Cultural Strategist , it’s been awhile since I have peeped his site.
Snoop has been shunned by some of the brothas and sistas in the blogworld as being too inflammatory.
Yeah, can you believe that shit, me, Snoop INFLAMATORY!?
I’m the friendliest brotha in the blogsphere! LOL!
“Obama does it again. In what seems to be a continuing pattern, Senator Barack Obama threw African-Americans under the bus once again. During [Tuesday] night’s MSNBC debate with Senator Hillary Clinton, when tackling moderator Tim Russert’s question about nutso Louis Farrakhan’s semi-endorsement of him and Farrakhan’s past statement that Judaism is a ‘gutter religion’, Sen. Obama pompously noted that he went to Dr. King’s Ebenezer Baptist Church during recent King Day observances and gave a speech in which he denounced anti-Semitism within the African-American community. While trying to demonstrate his record against anti-Semitic rhetoric, Obama asserted the audience at Ebenezer was largely African-American. Then I damn near fell out of my seat when Obama stated in the course of the debate that he plans to be the conduit to rebuild the ‘historic relationship’ between African-Americans and Jews.
Obama reflected that he would not be a candidate for president of the United States if it were not for ‘a whole host of Jewish-Americans that supported the civil rights movement.’ With this level of pandering, I am beginning to wonder if Senator Barack Obama has some kind of personality flaw. While I have absolutely nothing against Jewish people, why does Obama feel he needs to be the conduit healer of black-Jewish relations? Is it because they are largely bankrolling his campaign? And why has Sen. Obama only taken aim [at] African-Americans with regards to the so-called ‘frayed’ Black-Jewish relations? Has Obama gone to Jewish synagogues to admonish Jews, many who are anti-black and racist, to confront them about their anti-black rhetoric?
Although I agree with his repudiation of Farrakhan’s past statements, has Senator Obama ‘repudiated’ racist Jews like David Horowitz? If so, I want to know when it occurred. Furthermore, I don’t know one African-American conversing loquaciously about ‘frayed’ Black-Jewish relations. While strengthening relations between all Americans wouldn’t be a bad thing, is improving Black-Jewish relations a priority issue for Black Americans?
Perhaps Obama should have attended the State of The Black Union forum afterall [sic]. Senator Obama seems to have a personal agenda for Black America that Black America doesn’t seem to know. On the contrary, Tavis Smiley was attacked for expressing concerns about Senator Obama and others who chose not to attend the State of The Black Union forum held recently. For crying out loud, Obama has garnered 80-95% of the black vote in states that have held primaries and caucuses thus far. But then again, why should he have attended the State of The Black Union considering the large percentage of African-American votes he’s getting in each state.
For me, Obama’s persistent ambiguity and pandering with regards to racial issues especially at the expense of African-Americans is very disturbing, and it further disturbs me that the Black community has not made Senator Barack Obama accountable.”
Trevor Phillips, chairman of the UK’s Equality and Human Rights Commission, is likely to stir up a hornet’s nest after claiming that Barack Obama might prolong racial divisions in the US, rather than heal them, if he becomes President. In an article entitled ‘Healing postponed’, which appears in the new issue of the UK current affairs magazine Prospect, Phillips - who is black - suggests more forcefully than many US commentators have that Obama’s success is in large part due to white guilt (they’ll vote for him ’so long as they don’t have to live next door to him’), and goes so far as to suggest that he’s taking advantage of racial divisions.
Phillips, whose observations on the failure of multiculturalism in Britain have drawn criticism from white ‘progressives’ such as odious London mayor Ken Livingstone, draws on many of the arguments put forward by Shelby Steele in his book on Obama, A Bound Man, in which he divides America’s black leaders into ‘challengers’ (Malcolm X, Jesse Jackson) whose power derives from real or imagined black victimhood, and bargainers (Cosby, Oprah).
Phillips, like Steel, portrays Obama as the quintessential bargainer, and claims that Obama is more Bill Clinton that JFK…
How Barack Obama played the race card and blamed Hillary Clinton.
After several weeks of swooning, news reports are finally being filed about the gap between Senator Barack Obama’s promises of a pure, soul-cleansing “new” politics and the calculated, deeply dishonest conduct of his actually-existing campaign. But it remains to be seen whether the latest ploy by the Obama camp–over allegations about the circulation of a photograph of Obama in ceremonial Somali dress–will be exposed by the press as the manipulative illusion that it is.
Most of the recent correctives have concerned outrageously deceptive advertisements approved and released by Obama’s campaign. First, in Iowa, the Obama camp aired radio ads patterned on the notorious “Harry and Louise” Republican propaganda from 1993, charging falsely that Senator Hillary Clinton’s health care proposal would “force those who cannot afford health insurance to buy it, punishing those who won’t fall in line.” In subsequent primary and caucus campaigns, the Obama campaign sent out millions of mailers, also featuring the “Harry and Louise” motif, falsely claiming that Clinton favored “punishing families who can’t afford health care in the first place.” A few bloggers and columnists, notably Paul Krugman in TheNew York Times, described the ads as distorting, but the national press corps mainly ignored them–until Clinton herself, seeing the fraudulent mailers reappear in Ohio over the past weekend, publicly denounced them.
The Obama mass mailings also attempt to appeal to Ohio’s labor vote by claiming that Clinton believed that the North American Free Trade Agreement, signed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, was a “‘boon’ to our economy.” More falsehood: In fact, Clinton had not said that; Newsday originally applied the word “boon” and has now noted the Obama campaign’s distortion. In this campaign, Clinton has called for a moratorium on all trade agreements until they are made consistent with labor and environmental standards–and account for the effect on jobs in the United States. Obama makes a big deal about how Bill Clinton signed NAFTA. But he fails to mention that, within the councils of her husband’s administration, Hillary Clinton was a skeptic of free trade agreements, and as a senator and candidate she has said that NAFTA contained flaws that need to be rectified. Ignoring all that, the Obama flyer features an alarming photograph of closed plant gates, having no connection to any action of Senator Clinton’s, as well as the dubious quotation about her from Newsday in 2006. Newsday has criticized “Obama’s use of the quotation” as “misleading … an example of the kind of slim reeds campaigns use to try and win an office.” Obama, without retracting the mailing (and while playing to protectionist sentiment in the party) said only that he would have his staff look into the matter–long after the ad has done its dirty work.
In Cincinnati, Bill Cunningham, according to the Los Angeles Times, introducing presidential candidate John McCain at a rally Tuesday, “ridiculed Democratic contender Barack Obama for his intention to meet with ‘world leaders who want to kill us’ and pointedly referred to the Illinois senator as ‘Barack Hussein Obama.’” John McCain repudiated Cunningham’s low tactics and said that using the middle name like that three times was “inappropriate” and would never happen again at one of his rallies.I want to say something about Barack Hussein Obama’s name. It is a name to be proud of. It is an American name. It is a blessed name. It is a heroic name, as heroic and American in its own way as the name of Gen. Omar Nelson Bradley or the name of Benjamin Franklin. And denigrating that name is a form of racial and religious bigotry of the most vile and debased sort. It is a prejudice against names deriving from Semitic languages!
Christian, Western heroes have often been bequeathed Middle Eastern names. Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, the medieval Spanish hero, carried the name El Cid, from the Arabic al-Sayyid, “the Lord.”
Barack and Hussein are Semitic words. Americans have been named with Semitic names since the founding of the republic. Fourteen of our 43 presidents have had Semitic names (see below). And American English contains many Arabic-derived words that we use every day and without which we would be much impoverished. America is a world civilization with a world heritage, something Cunningham will never understand.
A student-run magazine at UCLA has revealed an undercover investigation in which representatives of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s abortion industry leader, admitted willingness to accepting a financial donation targeting the destruction of an unborn black baby.
Now she’s told WND she hopes the taped responses of Planned Parenthood officials in seven states reveal to her local UCLA community and the nation the racist leanings of the organization.
WND calls to Planned Parenthood of Idaho, which was featured in The Advocate report, requesting a comment were not returned.
“Students on campus are shocked and saddened that such a huge organization would have racist leanings in the present day,” Rose told WND. “They are surprised to hear the truth about [Planned Parenthood founder] Margaret Sanger, and how the African-American community is being hurt by abortion.
“There’s a lot of surprise out there. Planned Parenthood does an excellent job of covering up the facts,” she said.
Sanger supported eugenics to cull those she considered unfit from the population. In 1921, she said eugenics is “the most adequate and thorough avenue to the solution of racial, political and social problems.”
At one point, Sanger lamented “the ever increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.” Another time, Sanger wrote, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”
House Dems Pass Massive Tax Hike on Oil Companies……. to Bring Down Price of Fuel!
Thursday, February 28th, 2008
This latest move by the Pelosi-Reid Congress is not surprising. Democrats have always been against oil drilling and exploration.
And, they have been wanting to increase taxes on oil companies since forever.
Their policies have caused our reliance on foreign oil to grow significantly.
For decades, the Democratic party has blocked one effort after another to responsibly develop the energy resources our country possesses, transforming vast areas of opportunity into “The No Zone.”
Published on Friday, January 30, 2004 by CommonDreams.orgWhile global warming is being officially ignored by the political arm of the Bush administration, and Al Gore’s recent conference on the topic during one of the coldest days of recent years provided joke fodder for conservative talk show hosts, the citizens of Europe and the Pentagon are taking a new look at the greatest danger such climate change could produce for the northern hemisphere - a sudden shift into a new ice age.
What they’re finding is not at all comforting.
In quick summary, if enough cold, fresh water coming from the melting polar ice caps and the melting glaciers of Greenland flows into the northern Atlantic, it will shut down the Gulf Stream, which keeps Europe and northeastern North America warm. The worst-case scenario would be a full-blown return of the last ice age - in a period as short as 2 to 3 years from its onset - and the mid-case scenario would be a period like the “little ice age” of a few centuries ago that disrupted worldwide weather patterns leading to extremely harsh winters, droughts, worldwide desertification, crop failures, and wars around the world.
A Chilling Possibility - By disturbing a massive ocean current, melting Arctic sea ice might trigger colder weather in Europe and North America.
March 5, 2004: Global warming could plunge North America and Western Europe into a deep freeze, possibly within only a few decades.
That’s the paradoxical scenario gaining credibility among many climate scientists. The thawing of sea ice covering the Arctic could disturb or even halt large currents in the Atlantic Ocean. Without the vast heat that these ocean currents deliver–comparable to the power generation of a million nuclear power plants–Europe’s average temperature would likely drop 5 to 10°C (9 to 18°F), and parts of eastern North America would be chilled somewhat less. Such a dip in temperature would be similar to global average temperatures toward the end of the last ice age roughly 20,000 years ago.Right: Retreating Arctic ice, 1979-2003, based on data collected by the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSMI). [More]
Some scientists believe this shift in ocean currents could come surprisingly soon–within as little as 20 years, according to Robert Gagosian, president and director of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Others doubt it will happen at all. Even so, the Pentagon is taking notice. Andrew Marshall, a veteran Defense Department planner, recently released an unclassified report detailing how a shift in ocean currents in the near future could compromise national security.
“It’s difficult to predict what will happen,” cautions Donald Cavalieri, a senior scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, “because the Arctic and North Atlantic are very complex systems with many interactions between the land, the sea, and the atmosphere. But the facts do suggest that the changes we’re seeing in the Arctic could potentially affect currents that warm Western Europe, and that’s gotten a lot of people concerned.”
“does Islamophobia really exist? Or is the hatred and abuse of Muslims being exaggerated to suit politicians’ needs and silence the critics of Islam? The trouble with Islamophobia is that it is an irrational concept.
It confuses hatred of, and discrimination against, Muslims on the one hand with criticism of Islam on the other. The charge of ‘Islamophobia’ is all too often used not to highlight racism but to stifle criticism. And in reality discrimination against Muslims is not as great as is often perceived - but criticism of Islam should be greater.”
Temperature Monitors Report Widescale Global Cooling
Wednesday, February 27th, 2008
Twelve-month long drop in world temperatures wipes out a century of warming
Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile — the list goes on and on. No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough to wipe out nearly all the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year’s time. For all four sources, it’s the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.Scientists quoted in a past DailyTech article link the cooling to reduced solar activity which they claim is a much larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases. The dramatic cooling seen in just 12 months time seems to bear that out. While the data doesn’t itself disprove that carbon dioxide is acting to warm the planet, it does demonstrate clearly that more powerful factors are now cooling it.
Read the rest if you wish, global warming alarmist nuts will no doubt try to regroup and come up with new scare tactics.
Compact fluorescent lamps - those spiral, energy-efficient bulbs popular as a device to combat global warming - can pose a small risk of mercury poisoning to infants, young children, and pregnant women if they break, two reports concluded yesterday. But the reports, issued by the state of Maine and the Vermont-based Mercury Policy Project, urged homeowners to keep using compact fluorescents because their energy-saving benefits far outweigh the risk posed by mercury released from a broken lamp.
They said most danger could be avoided if people exercised common-sense caution, such as not using compact fluorescents in table lamps that could be knocked over by children or pets and properly cleaning up broken bulbs.
Keep people and pets away. Open windows, and leave the area for 15 minutes before beginning the cleanup.
Do not use a vacuum cleaner, even on a carpet. This will spread the mercury vapor and dust and potentially contaminate the vacuum.
Wear rubber gloves.
Carefully remove the larger pieces and place them in a secure closed container, preferably a glass jar with a metal screw top lid and seal like a canning jar.
Next, scoop up the smaller pieces and dust using two stiff pieces of paper such as index cards or playing cards.
Pick up fine particles with duct tape, packing tape, or masking tape, and then use a wet wipe or damp paper towel.
Put all waste into the glass container, including all material used in the cleanup. Remove the container from your home and call your local solid waste district or municipality for disposal instructions.
Continue ventilating the room for several hours.
Wash your hands and face.
As a precaution, consider discarding throw rugs or the area of carpet where the breakage occurred, particularly if the rug is in an area frequented by infants, small children or pregnant women. Otherwise, open windows during the next several times you vacuum the carpet to provide good ventilation.

On Rush’s website he had the transcript from some talk shows with Cokie Roberts from ABC and Dee Dee Myers expressing their displeasure over the sexism that is killing Hillary’s campaign.
ROBERTS: The only group she still really has is white women, and I do think that there’s some possibility that you will see a sort of reaction among white women. I had the opportunity –STEPHY: Like New Hampshire.
ROBERTS: — to interview Billie Jean King this week. And she said, “You know, I feel like everything I’ve worked for all my life is going out the window,” and there is that sense. I mean, here is this woman who worked hard. She’s done it all the way you’re supposed to do it, and then this cute young man comes in and says a bunch of sweet, you know, nothings, and — and pushes you out of the way. And a lot of women are looking at that and saying, “There goes my life.”
ROBERTS: The truth is, is that for a Republican running against him he can put him, you know, just squarely on the left of the Democratic Party. You know, he’s got a very — very much, you know, ADA, Americans for Democratic Action-approved voting record. He, unlike Hillary Clinton, oddly enough, given the rhetoric, has not reached across the aisle and worked with people in the other party to get things done, which she has done.
***********
MYERS: Hillary Clinton’s options are limited in many ways because she’s a woman. It’s difficult for her to get angry; it’s difficult for her to be sarcastic; when she gets tough, she sounds like a scold; and I think we have a different standard for how women, umm, can approach going negative, getting tough, and making their point than we do for men.
MYERS: The public has different expectations for women, and I think the press has covered her different as a woman. I think one of the things we’ve learned in this campaign is that the playing field still isn’t level. I don’t think you can separate the fact that she’s a woman. I think it’s still easier to be critical of a woman. I think you can say almost anything about a woman, even if it’s based in gender stereotypes without much penalty, and I think we’ve seen that throughout this race.
Oh Boo fucken hoo!
I’ve said this before and will keep saying, I DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A WOMAN PRESIDENT, IN FACT I BELIEVE A WOMAN IN MANY WAYS WILL DO A BETTER JOB.
My problem is the same problem millions of Americans have, Dee Dee, Cokie, we HATE Hillary!! She sucks; she is a socialist big gubment nut! The only reason she was a “major” candidate was because her husband was president and he screwed around on her and more than that she believed that she was entitled to the job and America is rejecting her.
I don’t give a fuck what race or gender a candidate is, for me political ideology will always trump a candidate’s race or gender.
If I had my own business, or ran a corporation, anything having to do with employee, departmental, cabinet hiring/selection, all things being equal, nine time out of ten, I’ll select a woman over a man.
Women are more loyal; I would tend to trust women more, and in many cases will work harder.
Message for Hillary; we don’t like you. Deal wit it!
AUSTIN, Texas - In his radio and TV ads that are blanketing Texas, Barack Obama claims a chief executive can make more money “in 10 minutes” than an ordinary worker makes in a year. Obama wants to end the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, enact a national health plan, offer a $4,000-a-year tuition reimbursement in exchange for national service, and have the government intervene to prevent home foreclosures.
But he doesn’t want anyone
to call him a liberal.
For despite Obama’s vow to build a working majority for change - to win a clear mandate for his progressive agenda, rather than engage in Clinton-like “triangulation” - he’s not yet willing to own the l-word.
Obama seems to have calculated that such labels can be distracting - that some voters have negative associations with the term liberal that obscures their support for such Democratic priorities as affordable healthcare and higher education for all.
He may be right. But his reluctance to own the term in a forthright way is somewhat surprising because Obama has said he wants to be a transformative figure like Ronald Reagan, whose crusade against liberals and big government has dominated American political discourse for almost 30 years.
Socialized medicine isn’t always a complete disaster. Not only did Britain’s Angelique Sutcliffe have her baby delivered for free (not counting a lifetime of extravagant taxes), but she gets a £5 million bonus, courtesy of other taxpayers, as compensation for having been injected with cleaning fluid while in the hospital.
There’s been a downside, though: severe neurological damage that has left her in a wheelchair.
British totalitarians now want to impose cap-and-trade lunacy on individuals, giving everyone a “carbon allowance” so that they don’t emit too much utterly harmless CO2. This would exceed the wildest dreams of Stalin and Hitler, giving authoritarian bureaucrats absolute control over every aspect of our existence, all in the name of a manufactured crisis with zero validity.
Race-mongering Rep. Diane Watson channels Ray Nagin
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008
Tipster JP passes along audio from a Black History Town Hall meeting last night held by Congressional Black Caucus leaders at Howard University in Washington, D.C.California Democrat Rep. Diane Watson, in discussing D.C. representation, channeled New Orleans Mayor Ray “Chocolate City” Nagin. Partial transcript:
Did you know your representatives can not vote? They can only vote in the committee as a whole. So what you’re going to have to do is declare the District [of Columbia] something like a state so they can have a proportional representation who vote. But that would give this district two senators and there are a lot of people on that floor who don’t want to see that occurbecause if there’s a chocolate city, this is it.

In case you have not heard of Watson, here is a clip.
I started to comment, but then I thought fuck it, no comment necessary.
But don’t let me stop you from trying to figure this one out.
The future looks bright for the Earth – but not in the way we’d hoped. The slim chance our planet will survive when the Sun begins its death throes has been ruled out.In a few billion years, the Sun will fuse the last of its hydrogen into helium, turn into a red giant and expand to 250 times its current size. At first, the Sun’s loss of mass will loosen its gravitational pull on Earth, which will allow the planet to migrate to a wider orbit about 7.6 billion years from now.
This process has led some to speculate that the Earth might escape destruction – but survival now seems impossible, says Peter Schröder of the University of Guanajuato in Mexico and Robert Smith of the University of Sussex in the UK.
They created the most detailed model to date of the Sun’s transition to a red giant, based on observations of six nearby red giant stars. Sure enough, they found that Earth’s orbit will widen at first. But Earth will also induce a “tidal bulge” on the Sun’s surface, with its own gravitational pull. The bulge will lag just behind the Earth in its orbit, slowing it down enough to drag it to a fiery demise.
There is one last hope for anybody still living on Earth, the researchers say. In the past, some have suggested that Earth’s orbit could be tweaked by arranging the fly-by of a nearby asteroid to tug at it. This method could potentially maintain Earth’s speed enough to keep it in a widening orbit, they say.
(CNSNews.com) - A page for Muslim supporters of Sen. Barack Obama — hosted on Obama’s presidential campaign Web site — promotes events sponsored by controversial Islamic groups.Muslim Americans for Obama ‘08, found on Obama’s main campaign site, allows users to create their own page through a “My Obama” option. The Muslim Americans for Obama page also links to a Web site that features lectures by people who have expressed radical Islamic views in the past.
A portion of the “Muslim Americans for Obama” page lists proposals to establish a Muslim American advisory group on U.S. foreign policy; provide prayer areas in public places such as malls, airports, universities and government buildings; institute a law to allow Muslim employees to take time from their work day for prayer; and institute a law against harassment of Muslim women in public areas.
The Obama campaign’s press office did not respond to numerous phone calls and e-mail messages from Cybercast News Service on this matter.
Throughout the campaign, Obama has professed his Christian faith, although his father is a Muslim.
My quick two cents, first, I don’t have any beef with Muslims in general, people should be free to practice their religion of choice and do so without persecution.
I’m really getting fucken sick of hearing about all of this “Muslim” bitching and moaning about giving these people “special” prayer rooms and all of this kind of special Muslim bullshit.
This is fucken America. As far as I know, no other religion seeks “special” consideration when it comes to catering to their religious needs.
I’m getting a wee bit tired of special interest groups trying to shove their “special” considerations down our fucken throats!
Planned Parenthood Web Site Advises Teens on Porn Use
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008
(CNSNews.com) - Teenwire.com, the Planned Parenthood Web site that says it was created “to provide medically accurate sexual health information for teens on the Internet,” is advising teens that viewing pornography is a normal and “safer” way of enjoying sex.
In a 2007 article, “Birth Control Choices for Teens,” the writer for the Planned Parenthood site tells readers about “Outercourse.”
Under the subtitle, “lower-risk forms of outercourse,” in addition to kissing, masturbation, erotic massage and body rubbing, or frottage, is “fantasy.”
“Many couples can read or watch sexy stories or pictures together,” the article states. “They can also share or act out sex fantasies. People do it in person, on the phone, surfing the Internet or through e-mail instant messaging.”
Another advice piece, “Porn vs. Reality,” warns that federal law makes it illegal for anyone under 18 to view pornography; “however, not everyone follows the rules, and you may run across some porn before you turn 18. There are a few things you should know about the images you might see. First of all, many people enjoy pornography alone or with a partner as part of sex play. People have different ideas of what is arousing, and there are many different kinds of porn that appeal to people’s different interests.”
On the Web site’s “Ask the Experts” page, young readers pose questions about pornography.
“Dear Experts,” one young reader wrote, “I look at porno sites but I got all A’s for my subjects. People say looking at those sites affects your school work, but since I think I’m not affected, should I stop it? If I should, how?”
The answer given by teenwire.com experts includes the advice that “many people enjoy using pornography as a part of their sex play — alone or with a partner.” And “there is no correlation between using pornography and getting bad grades in school.”
The experts also told a young male viewer of pornography that masturbating while looking at pornography was not cheating on his girlfriend.
Repeated requests for interviews with Planned Parenthood and teenwire.com staff by Cybercast News Service were not answered.
