Why I will no longer be considered a Republican
Sorry in advance to you Republicans, those of you who will continue to identify yourself as such. I refuse to do it any longer. I obviously was naive and not thinking with a clear head all of these years. However I will say that I am dropping the affiliation because of what I will unfortunately see as the future of the party.
While attending the first Daily Kos convention I was a little amused at all of the hand wringing and liberal conspiracy theories and liberal rhetoric that I witnessed, but I was impressed at the resolve of these individuals and I have said, before although I don’t agree with Markos on any political level I admire what he created and I admire and respect the resolve and tenacity those of the left have championed over the past several years to move this nation in their desired direction. It worked, not only in the Democratic Party, but they have also managed to instill their desired political goals on the Republican Party as well.
I was excited about the candidacy of Fred Thompson long before he announced because I at the time believed that Thompson would not allow the tide to continue slip left and would help stabilize the party.
I have read several posts on other blogs that basically says that if Fred does not come in second, (I now believe he must win SC), his campaign is dead in the water. This will leave the party with a field of candidates who just as well could be Democrat contenders.
Today if I am a Democrat, I am happy at the prospects for the future. Even if Hillary or Obama does not win, they should be content with any of the Republican nominees because frankly they sound the same except for some obligatory throw out a “conservative” bone to those who need to hear something Republican like, who cares that they don’t mean it.
According to liberal idealism, it should be the job of government to provide a good economic environment for each and every member of society to protect our citizens from making bad economic decisions or choices.
Capitalism is suppose to be the seed that made this country what it is today, but from a liberal viewpoint, capitalism is inherently evil because it leads to an unequal distribution of wealth.
Well the leading crop of Republican candidates believes this today.
They pander and beg to try and capture liberal independents, it not about representing the party increasingly adopting liberal positions on tax reform, education, and the environment.
Liberals before complained that Republicans exalt personal benefit over the greater good or that Republicans don’t care about the environment. Not this current crop of candidates. McCain is out there promoting a global warming hoax because he wants the support of leftists. He clearly wants the presidency more that he gives a shit about the future of the party and this country.
Huckabee wants to grant amnesty to illegals, and make it easier for white business folks to hire cheap labor and he himself has talked about this climate change dilemma we are in. No liberal would disagree with that.
Republican pundits, talk show hosts, so-called political columnist, even right leaning pundits on Fox and former party leaders like Newt have demonstrated an amazing lack of intellectual consistency.
I read these people for years, listened to what they had to say and except for the folks like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and Rush all of these sellout pundits have sold their soul to support one of these closet liberal sellouts.
When I read last night that Ann Coulter of all people was supporting Mitt Romney, joining National Review in endorsing him, I said enough is enough.
All of what I read and listened to before was all bullshit.
But then I saw the You Tube clip below with Coulter backstage with Romney and she gushed like a little school tramp at Romney as well.
I have lost what little respect I had for her. I won’t read another column nor post anything she has to say here any longer. That also goes for Newt, I don’t want anybody telling me shit about this fraud, explaining to Rush that we need to redefine and remold the Republican Party and obviously pandering to liberals is perfectly ok with the Newts and Coulters.
Liberals want desperately to live in a societal utopia, where capitalism and communism share meaning, and free speech reigns as long as it is not exercised by the likes of such filthy rich, bigoted white guys.
Liberals instead of praising the foundation that has created this great country, they teach people, and in essence the current crop of Republican candidates to fight against it, they fight against Reaganism and conservative values to pimp for populism.
I am no longer under any delusions that the Republican Party can right this sinking ship.
This party refuses to stand up for its principles and has thus abandoned them.
Even if Republican candidates feels that it does not have the popular support for a position,
if they are indeed Republicans then they should stick to their principles and do their damndest to educate the public about the facts of the matter. Abandonment of the fight in the name of political expediency erodes the foundation of those of us you people supposedly purport to represent.
A victory for Huckabee, McCain, Romney or Giuliani is a loss for the party, one the party will never be able to overcome.
Yes despite the fact that one of the most important aspects of the presidency is the appointment of judges, I will not support any of these current crop of Republicans, I’m like fuck it, put Hillary in the White House, at least her presidency will entertain me.
Republicans use to believe in restraining the growth of government yet you frauds continually cave in on politically unpopular issues and increase the expanse of the Federal government year after year.
When I finally hear a Republican candidate for president accept that the government doesn’t have the answer to all of life’s problems. Accept that there are no solutions to problems, only trade-offs. Present these trade offs to the American people honestly and forthrightly. Stop creating false crises that can only be solved by further government intervention, (you paying attention Mitt, telling lies to Michigan voters, the automobile industry is fucked, McCain was right about one thing those jobs are toast!) Trust people to solve their own problems. And tell those citizens who bitch and complain incessantly to stop whining and try to solve their own problems first.
You are not suppose to be running for president to get the votes of liberals, you should be seeking, my vote. You people obviously don’t give a shit about my vote, so therefore I say screw you.

Well said.
Thompson can still win. There is still hope. But all of that was true.

Well Melvin, I pray that you are correct, I’m just so pissed about what I am seeing I’m just starting to not give a shit anymore.
I’m to the point where I’m like screw it, give the damm Democrats the White House. I would rather see a Democrat in the White House than any of these Republicans.
I hope I’m wrong.
