Last night’s Republican Univision debate
This line is from Hawkins on Right Wing News
Now, some people may pan them for participating in a Spanish language debate, but I’m not one of them. To the contrary, I believe that we need to take every opportunity to show Hispanics that although we are dead serious about illegal immigration, the Democrats are wrong about our being anti-Hispanic. Just by showing up last night and saying the same things they always do, our candidates helped send that message.
Tom Tancredo boycotted the debate, accusing his rivals of “pandering” to the Hispanic community.
C’mon fellow Neo-Cons, is there any other blogger on the right who thinks this way?
I fucken hope not, ok then why did the top Republicans skip the Negro debates?
I’ll wait… for a coherent answer…..(cricket sounds)
Pandering to Mexicans is perfectly ok, but “pandering” to Negros is not.
We love Mexicans but I loathe those Niggas, plez.
Tancredo is 100 percent correct; pandering to a group of Mexican folks like little bitches who you know are not voting for their asses anyway is just asinine.
QUESTION: “a survey from Los Angeles Times that said that 60 percent of the voters in the United States think that — they are in favor of granting legal status to undocumented aliens”
L.A. Times survey? Now you know damm well this is a bunch of crap, Mexicans run L.A, and they dominate the job market, just stick the Mexican flag on top of city hall.
Take that survey in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Montana, the Dakotas.
Again like I said in the Rudy post, the Republican Party is fucked, because the party is now relegated to compromising what the party stands for. Not to mention the fact that this current crop of RINO’s are redefining conservatism.
This just pisses me off big time.

They shouldn’t have done it. Tancredo is right.
The answer to your question, though, is simple and fairly obvious. Aside from the fact it is also wrong to have a “black” debate, there are other concerns. First, blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat and that isn’t going to change any time soon no matter what Repbulicans do. Until the “community” weens itself off entitlements and victimhood it’s a lost cause for Republicans. The “Latino” vote isn’t necessarily lost. Second, it is asking to fail. Blacks in groups, certainly the NAACP, are likely to be openly hostile.
So it’s possible losses with no possible gain versus even money on losses with a possible significant gain. A no brainer.
No comparison should be made.

What I don’t understand is that the Republicans currently have the most diverse cabinet in history and they don’t seem to want to point that out.
I know Alberto Gonzales is now persona non grata but the fact he was appointed to that position by Bush should be touted, as should Condi.
To just let the Dems take the position that they are the party of diversity seems like political suicide, especially when you can take advantage of the numerous minorities in high level positions.

Yes, Democrats have lived on the illusion that they believe in diversity, when the opposite is true.
I just don’t think the Republicans need to prop the diversity issue, because it may be viewed by some as “reaching.” Democrats of course will simply say people like Condi are just “token” minorities and that they are not in those positions because of their qualifications.
