“The Ron Paul cult”

Found the post below on the blog Haiku for You, LOL!

Folks I’m not even going to say it, been down that road before. However I’m finding Ron Paul fans more and more amusing as Paul has gained some traction and raised more money recently.
I find it fascinating that his fans are oblivious to the fact that THEY, (the cult followers) are actually getting more attention than Paul is.
I’m reading countless stories about how his cult followers are doing and saying crazy shit, I can’t remember an article where Ron Paul himself has said anything of substance.
Oh well… Examples of the craziness!! - Link

*Do patriotic White Americans finally have a candidate they can vote for without fear of being sold out again?*Ron Paul would collapse the Jewish infrastructure in this country.
Christian Identity is the belief that the Jews have usurped the identity and heritage of the white race. We believe that Europeans, not the Jews, are the true Chosen of the one and only God, and that Jesus came only for our people.

*I was having a discussion with my friend the other day and I was trying to explain to him that America is too submissive to the media right now to have a revolution. But after learning more about Ron Paul and about his supporters, I am starting to change my mind.

Wins Every Straw Poll. He practically wins every internet straw poll that includes himself as a candidate. But in the national polls he never polls more than 3% of the vote. How can that be possible. The majority of Americans have internet access. They have access to all of the polls just like everybody else. Then why does Ron Paul command so much attention. You may say that Ron Paul supporters are the only ones so crazy as to vote in these straw polls.

Dominates in All Areas of the Internet. Well, its not only straw polls that he dominates. He dominates in YouTube subscribers, myspace friends. He is also tops of all the second tier candidates in terms of fundraising even though it is clear he gets far less press attention. His supporters are the most vocal. Maybe they do not resonate with the rest of America but maybe that is because the rest of America has not heard of him yet. It all depends on what happens once they all hear of him, what will happen.

Supporters Impacting the Campaign Positively. We recommend all you Ron Paul supporters out there to continue doing what you are doing. You guys are having an impact on the political process. And if the media coverage is less than spectacular, do not fear. Because in 100 years, we are going to be looking back at this time and wondering how naive and selfless the media was to try to silence all the Ron Paul supporters.

Yikes! White Supremacists Endorse Ron Paul

Yawn: Snoop responding to another racist jackass Ron Paul fan!

“Oh Snoop, you’re wrong about Ron Paul”

THE POST

Obsessively, compulsively spamming Digg and any other online forum with open comments, busily mobbing every single online poll so they can declare themselves “TEH WINNARS!!”  of unscientific internet polls. Can often be found in the cesspools of the intarweb, such as 9/11 “truther” sites (i.e. Prison Planet) and white supremacist forums (i.e. Stormfront).

When obnoxiousness is confronted by the rare reasonable RP supporter, one usually is subjected to a massive display of verbal diarrhea, such as “F*CK THAT THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION AND THERE’S NO TIME FOR CIVILITY YOU NEOCOMMUNIST!!!11!”

For webmasters of every stripe, the Ron Paul Cult phenomenon has provided, along with the general headache of having to smack spammy trolls, much amusement as provoking them with even the mildest criticism or disagreement results in a torrent of site traffic. (Trust me, it’s true.)”

  1. Jack Sanderson Says:

It is less sinister than that:

Ron Paul calls for the destruction of a pile of new government agencies that, quite frankly, the Constitution never called for.

People across a wide political spectrum agree with that and, quite frankly, I am shocked that Giuliani is not at least calling for the closing of at least one agency.

So it is no surprise that a group that is not happy with our current government would include a white nationalist group as well as any number of left wing groups as well.

RP supporters would include Naderites and White Nationalists.

I say “new agencies” as in the past 100 years.

Lots of people believe that the country did well enough in the first 125 years not to have all this progressive new stuff.

Take for instance this: in 1995, we got the creation of a federal “Office on Violence Against Women” at the DOJ.

That coincidentally coincided with a change in the feminist movement and the election of a certain first lady.

Since when did the Constitution ever say that Congress had an enumerated power over domestic violence, rape and other issues that were States Rights issues before 1995?

The OVW now gets $430M per year funding, up $40M from last year because they want to create a huge stalker database to chronicle every man who might send a woman flowers, not knowing that she doesn’t like him.

Politics causes the creation of a new huge agency almost every new president.

RP wants to do away with tons of this.

  2. Snoop Says:

Mr. Sanderson I appreciate your comments, I understand why Ron Paul speaks to a number of people on many topics particularly those dealing with the reduction of government.
Hell I took on of those internet tests and Ron Paul was my number 3 choice close behind McCain and Fred Thompson.
However, I’m a hard core realist. Let’s face it, once the presidential race begins the electability equation factor emerges.
Ron Paul as nice of a guy he might be will never be able to round up enough support amongst average Americans to be a viable candidate. Having said that, these candidates, including Ron Paul himself, know damm well he has not shot at the Republican nomination much less winning a national election. So what does candidates like Ron Paul do, raise a few dollars, try to become relevant, speak out on issues that are important to him and hope to get a seat at the negotiation table once the election cycle is over.
It’s the same thing with Obama, he never had a chance at the nomination, but he is campaigning for relevancy, to be a Democrat player down the road.

Now all of this stuff Paul is talking about is courtesy of his lower tier status as a candidate. If Ron Paul were the Republican front runner and was more visible, he would not be ranting about the things his followers are boasting about. He would have to temper his comments so he would not come across as a kook!

When Dennis Kucinich said during the debate that he saw a UFO, do you think dude would have made that idiot comment if her were a front running candidate of course not.
You have to be able to appeal to the mainstream of society; you have to come across as presidential, as a leader, someone the country can get behind.

Ron Paul followers refuse to accept the fact that when you see him the first thing you think of is Barney Fife, Paul himself if uncomfortable with all of the attention.
This is a superficial society, if Ron Paul looked like Mitt Romney or was this dapper looking well dressed hip dude and had a deep commanding voice, he would be the front runner.
Is it fair, maybe not, but that is the reality we live in.
