‘Affordable Footware Act of 2007’
Mrs. Snoop will be happy, I buy a lot of shoes. She says I have WAY more than the average guy. I of course disagree. I believe that rotating your shoes saves your feet from getting funky. Sorry off track….the shoe tax…
Sphere: Related Content(American Apparel & Footware Assn. commentary) USA : AAFA urges Congress to end the shoe tax:Fashion fads come and go every year, but the shoe tax has persisted for more than 75 years. U.S. Representatives Joseph Crowley (D-NY), Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Nancy Boyda (D-KS), along with 35 original co-sponsors, officially introduced the Affordable Footwear Act of 2007 (H.R. 3934) to roll back the outdated tax.
This common-sense tax relief legislation eliminates the import tariffs, collectively known as the shoe tax, on all lower- to moderately-priced footwear as well as all children’s shoes, or about 60 percent of all shoes sold in the United States.
“The Affordable Footwear Act of 2007 is genuine tax relief for all consumers,” said Kevin M. Burke, president & CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA). “Our association has been working hand-in-hand with members of Congress and the entire U.S. footwear industry to abolish the shoe tax.” The depression-era shoe tax was implemented to protect the domestic footwear industry. Today, with 99 percent of all footwear sold in America being imported, the shoe tax has not only out-lived its purpose but is also unavoidable.

Proper foot care keeps feet from getting funky; and you my darling husband bathe enough for two men, so you are clean. If people have excessive foot odors even with regular bathing, it is likely they’ve picked up a fungus etc and need medical care or treatment. The only reason to get new shoes in that case is if the fungus etc. is also in the shoes.
Sorry dear heart, but having a lot of shoes does not protect against smelly feet. It does, however, help cut back on deformed shoes (like mine) due to improper foot allignment. It’s harder to walk a heel down when you only use a shoe once per month, as opposed to every day!
But as for taxing shoes more… Good grief? I cannot believe ANY sane lawmaker is still proposing more taxes, on anything!

Congressmen like Brady and Crowley are trying to get rid of the tax. Learn more about the tax and the legislation to eliminate it at www.EndTheShoeTax.org. If you agree that the shoe tax is out of fashion - you can email your members of Congress and ask them to support the Affordable Footwear Act of 2007 right from the website. There is even a template letter, if you’d like to use it. Thanks for your help!
