Right on. NCLB has begun to close the gap, but more work is needed. AS a person with a Master's in Ed LEadership I saw the wailing and gnashing of teeth from teachers when it passed. But when I quoted from the legislation and urged them to read it, the proverbial light bulb went on.
At first, they parroted the Teacher's Union mantra. It seems they don't see the need for government to get involved in education ...HUH???... Education is paid for by the government, local and federal. They absolutely do have the right to demand results.
