Mitch McConnell Proves He Is Too Out Of Touch To Be An Effective Minority Leader

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

m-theuriau10mitch.JPG

Found this on Right Wing News… pissed me off, we Republicans need to make him eat his words… are you listening Senator Brownback!?

“mediocre leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, who happily (because we may have a chance to get rid of him) is up for reelection in 2008, had this to say about the Senate’s immigration bill,”

“I don’t think there’s a single member of either party next year who is going to fail to be re-elected over this issue.”

“Of course, a guy who’s that politically out-of-touch is too incompetent and dumb to be in the Senate, much less Minority Leader, but rather than give him the beating he deserves for 3 or 4 paragraphs, I have three words for you,

Draft Larry Forgy.

I don’t know much about the guy, but I do know that he’s not Mitch McConnell and that would certainly be a powerful argument in his favor during a 2008 primary race…”

Oh check this out:

Cindy Sheehan Quits Anti-War Campaign

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007
sheehanchavez.jpg

(Newsmax) Cindy Sheehan says she is resigning as the “face” of the American anti-war movement.

In a letter posted on a liberal website Monday, Sheehan complained about the smears and hatred directed at her by liberals since she renounced her ties to the Democratic Party.

“Being called an ‘attention whore’ and being told ‘good riddance’ are some of the more milder rebukes [sic],” Sheehan wrote in a long letter posted on the DailyKos blog.

“I have come to some heartbreaking conclusions this Memorial Day Morning,” Sheehan wrote.

She said she has reluctantly concluded that “I was the darling of the so-called left as long as I limited my protests to George Bush and the Republican Party.”

Sheehan also noted that while conservatives “slandered and libeled” her as a “tool of the Democratic Party,” liberals did the same thing — “when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I help the Republican Party.”

Israeli forces raid jeep of longtime wanted militant caught in compromising position

RAMALLAH – Israel today arrested a longtime wanted terror leader here in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

According to Israeli security officials and Palestinian sources in Ramallah speaking to WND, the terrorist was arrested while having car sex just a few hundred feet from late PLO leader Yasser Arafat’s gravesite.

Khaled Shawish, an officer in Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Force 17 presidential guards, was captured by undercover Israeli police forces following scores of shooting attacks he is suspected of carrying out. Shawish, who doubles as the Ramallah chief of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group, previously boasted of involvement in a West Bank shooting attack in December 2000 that killed Israeli ultranationalist leader Benjamin Kahane and Kahane’s wife, Talya.

Flags Replaced With Swastikas in Wash.

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Hell I didn’t know those dumbass Nazis could draw. Ignorant ass bastards.

nazi2.jpg

ORCAS ISLAND, Wash. (AP) - Vandals burned dozens of small American flags that decorated veterans’ graves for Memorial Day and replaced many of them with hand-drawn swastikas, authorities said Monday. Forty-six flag standards were found empty and another 33 flags were in charred tatters Sunday in the cemetery, authorities said. Swastikas drawn on paper appeared where 14 of the flags had been.

Members of the American Legion on this island off Washington’s northwest coast replaced the burned flags with new ones Sunday afternoon.

The vandals struck again on Memorial Day after a guard left at dawn, the San Juan County sheriff’s office said. This time, the vandals left 33 of the hand-drawn swastikas.

“This is not an act of free speech. This is a crime,” Sheriff Bill Cumming said in a statement released Monday afternoon.

Investigators believe there’s more than one culprit, based on the number of flags that were vandalized, Cumming said in a telephone interview. But authorities have no suspects, he said.

The sheriff said deputies were trying to lift fingerprints off what little physical evidence they were able to recover.

Fury grows over US immigration bill

Saturday, May 26th, 2007
Trent Lott doesn’t usually answer his Senate phone himself, but when angry callers are burning up the lines – as they are over this week’s debate about revising America’s immigration laws – the Republicans’ No. 2 Senate leader has picked up to hear what they’ve got to say.

A lot of the talk is misinformation, he says. Talk radio and the blogs were blasting the compromise bill, which includes a guest-worker program and a path to legal status for many of the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the US, well before the text of the bill was ready for senators on Tuesday.

“We talked for 15 minutes,” says the senator, recounting one call. “I can’t talk to everyone in America for 15 minutes…. But if you cower in the shadows, you’ll get pummeled…. You’ve got to stand up.”

Withering attacks on the bill aren’t only by phone: Deal-busting amendments are surfacing on the Senate floor. By week’s end, the bill’s defenders expect to have an idea of whether their “grand bargain” will hold – and then they’ll head home on Memorial Day break to meet the backlash face to face.

Fred Thompson Raps ‘Open Border’ Immigration

Saturday, May 26th, 2007
illegalimgnocompromisesig1rp1.jpg

(Newsmax) Fred Thompson, a potential Republican presidential candidate, suggested that the 1986 immigration law signed by President Reagan is to blame for the country’s illegal immigrants and he bemoaned a nation beset by “suicidal maniacs.”

“Twelve million illegal immigrants later, we are now living in a nation that is beset by people who are suicidal maniacs and want to kill countless innocent men, women and children around the world,” the former Tennessee senator said. “We’re sitting here now with essentially open borders.”

He made the comments Thursday night as he discussed the 1986 immigration reform bill and the Senate’s current legislation to overhaul the immigration system during a speech to people attending the annual Prescott Bush Awards Dinner in Stamford, Conn.

Thompson, the actor on NBC’s popular drama “Law & Order,” is widely expected to enter the GOP presidential race this summer. His backers bill him as a conservative in the mold of Ronald Reagan who can beat the Democratic nominee in November 2008.

That’s the same Reagan who signed an immigration overhaul two decades ago that gave amnesty to an estimated 2.7 million illegal immigrants who had been in the United States at least four years.

“Future generations of Americans will be thankful for our efforts to humanely regain control of our borders and thereby preserve the value of one of the most sacred possessions of our people: American citizenship,” Reagan said in a statement on Nov. 6, 1986, as the bill became law with his signature.

Immigration has dominated the Republican presidential race this week, with candidates seeking to navigate the tricky politics of the Senate measure that many conservatives oppose. They make up a large part of the GOP base whose votes are critical in the Republican primary contests.

Thompson, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani all oppose the measure to varying degrees, even though all three have made statements in the past in which they appeared to support a similar measure the Senate previously considered.

Sen. John McCain of Arizona is a co-sponsor of the new measure that would meld tougher policies to secure the country’s porous borders with a guest-worker program and an eventual path to citizenship for most of the 12 million immigrants in the country illegally.

McCain responds and then some

Friday, May 25th, 2007
McCain responds to Obama in tough enough, if predictable, language:

“While Senator Obama’s two years in the U.S. Senate certainly entitle him to vote against funding our troops, my service and experience combined with conversations with military leaders on the ground in Iraq lead me to believe that we must give this new strategy a chance to succeed because the consequences of failure would be catastrophic to our nation’s security.”

But, McCain being McCain, he can’t help himself and goes the next step in the statement’s kicker:

“By the way, Senator Obama, it’s a ‘flak’ jacket, not a ‘flack’ jacket.”

Which is to say, “there is only one of us in this argument who has ever worn the uniform.” (my words)

And if you still don’t get it, a McCain aide blows away the anthill with, well, a rocket.

“Obama wouldn’t know the difference between an RPG and a bong.”

Here’s what got McCain so angry.

Obama’s spokesman came back later, taking the high road.

The lovebirds back in the day….

billandhill.jpg

By Peter Baker and John Solomon
Washington Post Staff Writers

Two new books on Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York offer fresh and often critical portraits of the Democratic presidential candidate that depict a tortured relationship with her husband and her past and challenge the image she has presented on the campaign trail.

The Hillary Clinton who emerges from the pages of the books comes across as a complicated, sometimes compromised figure who tolerated Bill Clinton’s brazen infidelity, pursued her policy and political goals with methodical drive, and occasionally skirted along the edge of the truth along the way. The books portray her as alternately brilliant and controlling, ambitious and victimized.

The Clinton campaign has nervously awaited publication of the books for fear they would include a bombshell revelation or, at the very least, revive memories of less-savory moments in the couple’s rise to power. The books, both by longtime journalists and both obtained by The Washington Post yesterday, include a number of assertions and anecdotes that could confront her campaign with unwelcome questions.

“A Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton,” by Carl Bernstein, reports that Clinton as first lady was terrified she would be prosecuted, took over her own legal and political defense, and decided not to be forthcoming with investigators because she was convinced she was unfairly targeted. While in Arkansas, according to Bernstein, she personally interviewed one woman alleged to have had an affair with her husband, contemplated divorce and thought about running for governor out of anger at her husband’s indiscretions.

“Her Way: The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton,” by Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta Jr., reports that during her husband’s 1992 campaign, a team she oversaw hired a private investigator to undermine Gennifer Flowers “until she is destroyed.” Flowers had said publicly that she had an affair with Bill Clinton while he was governor of Arkansas.

The book also suggests that Hillary Clinton did not read the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq in 2002 before voting to authorize war. And it includes a thirdhand report that the Clintons had a secret plan after the 1992 election in which he would have eight years as president and then she would have eight years, although last night a key source disavowed the story.

The Clinton camp hopes to brush off the books as mainly rehashing old news. “Is it possible to be quoted yawning?” asked Philippe Reines, her Senate spokesman. If past books on Clinton were “cash for trash,” he added, “these books are nothing more than cash for rehash.”

John Boehner speaks passionately, John Edwards, liberals not impressed.

Found on Wizbang , but remember John Edwards says “there is no global war on terror”, Bush is making it up, so no doubt liberals will say his passion and tears are as fake as a three dollar bill.
Rosie says “we” are the terrorists, Ron Paul and his friends say “it’s all blowback!”

Boehner spoke passionately on the floor of the House about the Iraq war supplemental and the government’s duty to protect the American people from the al Qaeda terrorists that hit us on 9/11. Hot Air has the video from C-Span. Here’s part of what Boehner said, from CNN:

“I didn’t come here to be a congressman — I came here to do something,” the Ohio Republican said as he choked up with tears in his eyes on the House floor. “And I think at the top of our list is providing for the safety and security of the American people. That’s at the top of our list. After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on? When are we going to defeat them?”"Ladies and gentlemen, if we don’t do it now, if we don’t have the courage to defeat the enemy, we will long, long regret it,” he added

“Oh Allah, strike the apostate rulers,
Oh Allah, kill them one after the other,
sparing none.”

Robert Shrum, the veteran Democratic strategist who worked on John Edwards’s 1998 Senate campaign in North Carolina, does not remember his onetime client very fondly.

In his new memoir, “No Excuses: Concessions of a Serial Campaigner,” Shrum recalls asking Edwards at the outset of that campaign, “What is your position, Mr. Edwards, on gay rights?”

I’m not comfortable around those people,” Edwards replied, according to Shrum. He writes that the candidate’s wife, Elizabeth, told him: “John, you know that’s wrong.”

Bill’s (Clinton’s) Ugly Buddy! - PAYMENTS FROM SCANDAL-TIED FIRM!

Thursday, May 24th, 2007
clinton24.jpgBy Dick Morris & Eileen Mcgann - Article Link

EVERY year since he left the White House, former Presi dent Bill Clinton has been paid by InfoUSA - an Omaha, Neb., company now identified as a key provider of databases that enable criminals to defraud the unsuspecting elderly.

Senate rules don’t require Hillary Clinton to reveal exactly how much - or for what - the company has paid her husband over the past five years. But former presidents - especially Bill Clinton - don’t come cheap. And, just months after he left the presidency, InfoUSA paid Bill Clinton $200,000 to give a speech in Omaha. Since then, it has paid him an undisclosed amount each year - listed only as “more than $1,000″ for “non-employee compensation” on Sen. Clinton’s financial-disclosure forms. (Her latest Senate disclosure isn’t yet public, so we don’t yet know if the firm paid him anything last year.)

As best we can determine, this is one of only two companies with whom the ex-president has an ongoing, formal relationship.

As The New York Times reported on Sunday, InfoUSA compiled and sold lists of elderly men and women who would be likely to respond to unscrupulous scams. The company advertised lists such as: “Elderly Opportunity Seekers” - 3.3 million older people “looking for ways to make money “Suffering Seniors” - 4.7 million people with cancer or Alzheimer’s disease; “Oldies but Goodies” - 500,000 gamblers over age 55. It described one list: “These people are gullible. They want to believe that their luck can change.”

Internal e-mails show that InfoUSA employees were aware that they were selling this data to firms under investigation for fraud - but kept on selling the information, even as the scammers used the lists to bilk millions from the elderly.

Last week, Hillary Clinton sought and obtained an extension of time to file her financial-disclosure statement for the presidential race. This will tell us more than her Senate statements - she’s required to list not just the sources of Bill’s income but exactly how much they paid him. While Sen. Clinton offered no reason for the postponement, we can’t help suspecting that she hopes to conceal InfoUSA’s payments to her husband while the company is under fire.

The relationship between Bill Clinton and Vinod “Vin” Gupta, InfoUSA’s CEO and chairman, is longstanding and deep.

A frequent donor to Bill’s campaigns, Gupta stayed in the Lincoln Bedroom in the Clinton years. He admits donating $1 million to the Clinton Library and in 1999 gave $2 million for Hillary Clinton’s Millennium New Year’s Eve bash. He has raised over $200,000 for Hillary’s Senate campaigns and given thousands to other Democratic funds.

Gupta’s company has also been generous to Clinton causes. It was a sponsor of the 2006 Clinton Global Initiative, and of last summer’s Aspen Festival of Ideas, where Bill and Hillary Clinton both spoke. It put Terry McAuliffe, the Clinton’s longtime money man, on the board of a subsidiary firm, videoyellowpagesusa.com

President Clinton returned some of the favors - he nominated Gupta as consul general of Bermuda and U.S. ambassador to Fiji, but Gupta was never confirmed. In his last days in the White House, Clinton appointed Gupta to the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees.

This connection between the Clintons and InfoUSA only underscores the necessity of full disclosure of income sources and amounts by all the presidential candidates and the release of their income tax returns - a step that Sen. Clinton has, thus far, refused to take.

Importing a Slave Class

Thursday, May 24th, 2007
mexican4.gifBy Ann Coulter

Apparently, my position on immigration is that we must deport all 12 million illegal aliens immediately, inasmuch as this is billed as the only alternative to immediate amnesty. The jejune fact that we “can’t deport them all” is supposed to lead ineluctably to the conclusion that we must grant amnesty to illegal aliens — and fast!

I’m astounded that debate has sunk so low that I need to type the following words, but: No law is ever enforced 100%.

We can’t catch all rapists, so why not grant amnesty to rapists? Surely no one wants thousands of rapists living in the shadows! How about discrimination laws? Insider trading laws? Do you expect Bush to round up everyone who goes over the speed limit? Of course we can’t do that. We can’t even catch all murderers. What we need is “comprehensive murder reform.” It’s not “amnesty” — we’ll ask them to pay a small fine.

If it’s “impossible” to deport illegal aliens, how did we come to have so much specific information about them? I keep hearing they are Catholic, pro-life, hardworking, just dying to become American citizens, and will take jobs other Americans won’t. Someone must have talked to them to gather all this information. Let’s find that guy — he must know where they are!

How do we even know there are 12 million of them? Why not 3 million, or 40 million? Maybe we should put the guy who counted them in charge of deporting them.

If the 12-million figure is an extrapolation based on the number of illegal immigrants in public schools or emergency rooms and well-manicured lawns in Brentwood, then shouldn’t we be looking for them at schools and hospitals and well-manicured lawns in Brentwood?

I believe that the shortage of unskilled, non-English-speaking Mexicans we experienced in the ’60s has been remedied by now.

Since Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 Immigration Act, more than half of all legal immigrants have been unskilled, non-English-speaking Mexicans. America takes in roughly 1 million legal immigrants each year. Only about 30,000 of them have Ph.D.s. Why on earth would any rational immigration policy discriminate against immigrants with Ph.D.s in favor of unskilled, non-English-speaking immigrants?

Attention, Michael Chertoff: Get to the bottom of this screw-up

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

From Michelle Malkin
flores.jpg

This is Manuel Flores. He is an illegal alien fugitive from the law. He is accused of raping and sodomizing his girlfriend’s nine-year-old daughter.

Nine-year-old daughter.

Manuel Flores is free, reportedly headed back to Mexico, because federal immigration officials screwed up, according to a local Denver report. I linked to this story earlier today, but it deserves greater exposure. And it deserves the attention of DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff, who has been too busy demonizing immigration enforcement proponents to make sure his behemoth bureaucracy is doing its damned job:

Law enforcement agencies say they followed policies and procedures, but an illegal alien, accused of sexually assaulting a nine year-old Denver girl, was still able to post a bond and flee the country. The man, who called himself Manuel Flores, was arrested February 15 and accused of raping and sodomizing his girlfriend’s daughter. According to police documents, he was not able to provide a Social Security number or driver’s license. When he was booked into the Denver Jail, he told Officers he was born in Moralos, Mexico.

A Sheriff’s Department spokesman says they alerted federal immigration officials that Flores might be an illegal alien, but ICE apparently did not put an immigration hold on him.

Edwards: “I know I’m an idiot, but please send money anyway”

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

edliar.jpgThis is an e-mail spam from the Edwards campaign.
I’m just wondering, what kind of intellectual slug would read this bullshit letter and actually think to themselves hey, let me send this hypocritical con artist a few dead presidents because this is the kind of leader America needs.

*******

Like you, we’re all very troubled that Congress is backing down to the president and getting ready to give him another blank check to keep the war going.

How could this happen?

Unfortunately, it’s simple. The president and his allies—the whole right-wing buzz machine—are doing what they do every time someone opposes them. They attack their patriotism, call them weak, castigate them for not supporting the troops and don’t let up until they get their way. That’s the whole point of the political doctrine they call the “global war on terror”—it’s a sledgehammer they use to crush opposition by twisting the meaning of patriotism, and it’s given us the worst abuses and biggest mistakes of the Bush Administration, from Guantanamo to the war in Iraq.

The only way to beat them is to stand our ground and not give an inch. That’s what John Edwards did today.

Today, he went to the heart of America’s foreign policy establishment and called out the Bush crowd for their misuse of patriotism. He had the guts to say what all of us know—that the Bush Terror Doctrine has failed our troops and failed America by straining our military to the breaking point and sowing chaos around the world.

John Edwards offered a clear plan to rebuild our forces and cure the damage inflicted on our military by Bush’s policies. He offered a vision of an America where moral leadership is once again the rule, and where we are stronger and more secure because of it.

So guess what happened?

The sledgehammer of the global war on terror came right out again—this time aimed squarely at John Edwards. Today, the national Republican party launched a vicious attack at John for asking Americans to speak out to support the troops and end the war.

They actually accused him of profiteering from the war because he’s asked for your support and even had the nerve to ask you to pay the cost of a tee shirt. Of course, if the RNC really wants to attack someone for profiteering, they should call Dick Cheney’s friends at Halliburton and ask them to return the billions of dollars they’ve made on a war that Dick Cheney promoted from day one.

Enough is enough. We need to reclaim patriotism from this crowd that has abused it over and over again.

We have a right to speak out. We have a right to stand up for our beliefs. And we have a responsibility to support the campaign that is leading the way and working to end this war.

So join us. Visit the website. Make your voice heard. Contribute to the campaign—whatever you can do. I just donated $100—even $10 will help. But make no mistake—the only thing more powerful than their sledgehammer is your voice, so we need your help right now.

Tell the White House, tell the country, tell the world—John Edwards, you, all of us—we are patriots, and we will not be silenced by their terror rhetoric.

It ends today. It ends now. It ends right here.

Thank you.

John Edwards for President

On Language: Back in the Day

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

hiphop4.jpg

By William Safire - New York Times

“A couple of expressions keep popping up in classrooms all over,” says Karen Tolchin, assistant professor of English at Florida Gulf Coast University, “looking back to what they think of as a previous era, which to us was not very long ago. One is back in the day — as in, ‘back in the day when I had the old iPod.’ The other is ‘I like to kick it old school,’ meaning they like the ‘classics’ — songs or books or films of only a few years ago. This imbues old expressions with what seems to us a wholly different time sense.”

Professor Tolchin is an expert in what the Germans call Bildungsromane, novels about the pangs of characters growing up, from Goethe’s young Werther to Salinger’s Holden Caulfield to Roth’s Alexander Portnoy. Her book, “Part Blood, Part Ketchup: Coming of Age in American Literature and Film,” has sensitized her to the time warps in teen slang, which has been much influenced by the hip-hop culture.

Culture? Especially after the Imus Affair, which sparked universal revulsion at the defamation (it’s best to avoid “denigration” in this context) of black women in hip-hop lyrics as “bitches” and “hos,” how can this fast-talking — and for many of us, hard-to-understand — patois be called a culture?

Fort Dix suspect applied for police jobs

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

jihadposter.jpgFrom the site Jihad Watch

“Tatar may have also wanted to join the Army … A second suspect in the case told the informant that Tatar wanted to join the Army so he could kill soldiers from the ‘inside’.” Fort Dix Jihad Update. By Geoff Mulvihill for the Associated Press:

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. - One of the men accused of plotting to attack soldiers at Fort Dix had recently applied to be a police officer in two big cities — a move some authorities believe may have been an effort to infiltrate law enforcement agencies.

How many more Serdar Tatars might there be across America? Infiltrators among first responders to an attack would increase casualties, delay the work of other responders, and would significantly augment the psychological impact of the attack.

Serdar Tatar, 23, applied for a job in Philadelphia last month, police spokesman Sgt. D.F. Pace said Wednesday.

“Based on what we know now, I don’t think his intentions were good,” Pace said.

Tatar also applied for a job in the Oakland, Calif., Police Department, according to a law enforcement official speaking on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information.

Raunchy airline ad pulled, ‘insults women’

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

THIS AD INSULTS WOMEN!!!?

SPANISH airline Iberia has pulled a cartoon video ad that depicts a baby boy frolicking on a beach with big-breasted black Cuban women after complaints it insulted women and encouraged sexual tourism.

The two women, with huge lips and tiny, tight shorts on broad hips - massage and pamper the white Spanish infant after he arrives in Havana on a free trip from Iberia.

At one point, lounging at a seaside bar, he sings “Come on honey, take me to the crib”, the Associated Press reported.

Iberia’s website ran the video as part of a contest offering free trips to celebrate the site’s 10th anniversary.

The clip was taken down last week after less than 10 days on the page, following a complaint by the Federation of Consumers in Action, although it has resurfaced on YouTube.

Ileana Fuentes, executive director of the Miami-based Cuban Feminist Network, said the cartoon played to the idea that Cuba was the place to go for Spanish men to have easy sex with poor, black women.

“Obviously, it is an ad aimed at the male population. It is a male, white baby being told … ‘yeah, you can go to this island and these nice sexy, sexual black women will pamper you to death. They will do anything for you.’ That is a sexual tourism ad of the subtle kind,” Ms Fuentes said from Miami.

She called the ad sexist, racist and colonialist, saying it used “the black female Cuban body as bait for increased air fare sales. That is what it is”.

Other cartoons in the Iberia ad campaign showed a sheep winning a trip to New York and singing rap songs with young black men, and a vacuum cleaner being transported to Buenos Aires for tango dancing. They apparently raised no stink.

An Iberia official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press it was meant to be amusing and the company withdrew it as soon as complaints started coming in.

“We do not want to offend anyone,” the official said.

Somebody Should Go To Jail Over This ABC News Story

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

liberalmedia_animation_sm.gif

From Right Wing News

The press is, once again, deliberately trying to help America’s enemies and undermine the war on terror. This time, it’s Brian Ross and Richard Esposito over at ABC News,

“The CIA has received secret presidential approval to mount a covert “black” operation to destabilize the Iranian government, current and former officials in the intelligence community tell the Blotter on ABCNews.com.The sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the subject, say President Bush has signed a “nonlethal presidential finding” that puts into motion a CIA plan that reportedly includes a coordinated campaign of propaganda, disinformation and manipulation of Iran’s currency and international financial transactions.

…The sources say the CIA developed the covert plan over the last year and received approval from White House officials and other officials in the intelligence community.

Officials say the covert plan is designed to pressure Iran to stop its nuclear enrichment program and end aid to insurgents in Iraq.”

…Under the law, the CIA needs an official presidential finding to carry out such covert actions. The CIA is permitted to mount covert “collection” operations without a presidential finding.

“Presidential findings” are kept secret but reported to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and other key congressional leaders.

The “nonlethal” aspect of the presidential finding means CIA officers may not use deadly force in carrying out the secret operations against Iran.

Edwards: Move Past ‘War on Terror’

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

edwards2x.JPG

(AP) - Democrat John Edwards Wednesday repudiated the notion that there is a “global war on terror,” calling it an ideological doctrine advanced by the Bush administration that has strained American military resources and emboldened terrorists.
In a defense policy speech he planned to deliver at the Council on Foreign Relations, Edwards called the war on terror a “bumper sticker” slogan Bush had used to justify everything from abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison to the invasion of Iraq.

Meme Roth: “American Nightmare if Overweight Jordan Wins Idol”

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

That was the actual quote from this blonde skank, Meme Roth, President of the National Action Against Obesity.

I don’t watch Idol, Mrs. Snoop will tell you I hate the show, but I was watching this show and heard this skank actually say this stupid shit.

Yes Jordan looks like a healthy girl but to call her FAT, is incredible.

Another of skinny blonde chick dictating what American women should look like.
Talk about insulting.

Do I agree that a lot of American’s and American children need to take better care of themselves, sure I do. However weight Nazis like this idiot is on TV insulting a body type that frankly the majority of women sport.

Where is the outrage?

McCain Sides With Leading Dems on Global Warming

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Hmmm I would think that siding with Democrats would be a bad thing for a Republican, particularly since you are running for president of these Unites States.

retardmccain.JPG(CNSNews.com) - A panel discussion on global climate change Tuesday found Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) staff agreeing with representatives for the leading Democratic presidential contenders. A cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions, they agreed, is the most promising solution to “global warming.”

A cap and trade system would involve limits or caps (lower than current levels) on the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions produced by polluters like power plants. But companies able to cut their CO2 output at a low cost would be able to sell their left-over pollution permits to companies facing higher costs.

John Raidt, a policy advisor to McCain, said during a discussion at the left-leaning Brookings Institution that the Arizona Republican is a “foremost proponent of carbon cap-and-trade.”

Raidt said McCain supports a cap-and-trade system above taxes on carbon emissions because “cap-and-trade is a market-driven, proven way.”

The position put McCain in league with leading Democratic contenders - Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina - whose policy advisors also participated in the discussion.

Representatives for the three Democrats said they all support a carbon cap-and-trade system.

Discussion moderator Rick Klein, a reporter for ABC News, said the Brookings Institution invited former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, but representatives declined to attend.

Romney has previously expressed skepticism about global warming “alarmism” - the dramatic predictions for catastrophe if humans continue releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

As governor of Massachusetts in 2006, Romney pulled out of an agreement with northeastern states that would have committed the states to reducing their carbon emissions through a cap-and-trade system. The retreat has sparked charges of “flip-flopping” against Romney, who had spent years supporting the agreement.

In April, the Carbon Coalition, an environmentalist coalition, quoted Romney as saying, “If there is a carbon cap, I’ll make sure it’s global and not just domestic.” A spokesman for the campaign did not respond to requests for comment Tuesday.

Giuliani’s campaign website does not mention global warming or the candidate’s energy policy, and a spokesman did not return calls requesting comment Tuesday.

The representatives for Clinton, Obama and Edwards said their candidates agree that cap-and-trade efforts are preferable to a carbon tax. The advisors to Clinton and Obama said nuclear power “should be on the table” as an alternative to fossil fuel-based energy, although they expressed concerns over reactor safety and nuclear waste management.

Edwards “does not think we should be building more nuclear power plants until we resolve the waste question,” his advisor James Kvaal said, adding that nuclear power is “never going to be a large part of our solution.”

Questioned about the agreement between McCain and the Democratic contenders, Raidt said the candidates agree on the broad approach, but will likely spar over specifics of any plan to address the problem.

“When we get into the details of exactly what’s required … I expect there will be fights,” he said, adding that there will be “plenty of time for dissent, healthy dissent.”

Idiot Democrat: John Edwards you have a slight P.R. Problem

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

“But I have helped poor people by helping to raise the minimum wage”

Hey note to John Edwards or heck any other Democrat who peeps this site, do y’all not get how absolutely stupid that sounds?

Nothing describes the absolute moronic mindset of a Democrat who believes
that giving some poor burger flipper another dollar an hour alleviates poverty, while you accept $50,000 from a taxpayer funded university to speak about poverty.

Reason 5,091,228 why I hate liberals! Jackass…
