Gore mansion uses 20X average household
This is for Chris:
Al Gore’s posh home in the Nashville suburbs might be “carbon neutral,” but it still uses a lot of power.
So much that last August Tipper and Al Gore used twice as much electricity in their two-building property as an average U.S. household uses in an entire year, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, a think tank, reported Tuesday.
Public power and gas bills turned up by the group show that the man behind the Oscar-winning global warming wakeup documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” uses much more overall carbon-based fuel than the average American, spending thousands of dollars a month on electricity and gas.
I don’t really give a crap about this but since this is my blog and I get to post meaningless crap if I wanna!
I’m not a playa hata, if some dude has a big crib he is entitled to run up his utility bills as he sees fit.
However Al Gore is a fat ass hypocrite as are most liberals.
People who drive hybrid cars because they believe they are saving the planet and folks who buy weird light bulbs because they have been told that they save greenhouse gases.
I’m gonna keep saying it as long as I have this little sounding board.
Global warming is a fucken fraud. You only have to look at the biggest proponents of it (Al Gore) to get a sense of how ridiculous the notion is.
All of those Hollywood jackasses who flew their tired boring asses to Hollywood in private jets and limousines don’t give a shit about GW, but they sure as hell want you to do your part.
So to you folks driving around in that 1988 Honda with the muffler falling off, or you idiots still using incandescent light bulbs, or you people leaving your lights on when you leave a room shame on you. Look out your collective windows and see the mess you are making and the destruction you are causing.
Now imagine Al Gore looking out of the window of his beautiful estate and imagine how sad he must feel because YOU are fucking up the environment.

Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.
Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.
Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.
“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.
In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

Of course you leave out the (relatively well-known) fact that Al Gore supplants all of his energy consumption with carbon offsetting, essentially buying carbon consumption credits from companies that aren’t using them and paying for the construction and implementation of new clean energy sources. He offsets his annual home energy consumption, and every time he flies anywhere he buys additional credits to make up for the carbon produced by the plane.
It’s a practice referred to as being “carbon neutral” and it’s one of the main points of “An Inconvenient Truth” and the Inconvenient Truth web site. You can learn how to be carbon neutral at http://www.self.org/cnc.asp.
Of course I realize the argument is probably moot, as your goal was obviously to smear Al Gore regardless of the facts. I’m sure you haven’t seen the film, and you won’t look into carbon neutrality, and I’ll probably be lucky if you post this comment…. but the fact remains, that article, and your post, are disingenuous.

Gore is a tool. A useless one actually.

Ya know Chris I’m really glad you posted a comment, I like comments and wish that I received more, but I can’t help laughing at the utter nonsense of your comment.
First of all folks assume that I am ignorant to all of the so-called facts.
Just FYI on most subjects that I decide to post on my blog I know way more than I need to know.
I’m just dumbfounded that you choose to “defend” Gore a boorish, hypocritical silver spoon fed liberal who has hoodwinked liberals like yourself into buying into global warming clichés to make himself look good.
I did not post this entry to specifically smear Gore I post most stuff because I detest liberal hypocrisy, it’s liberalism in general that I can’t stand.
Gore does not give a shit about global warming, but he is smart enough to figure out a good scam when he sees one and he is playing it for all it’s worth. Hell dude got a gold statue out of his efforts. His scam is brilliant and it’s working. Look at the idiot McCain pandering to folks in California.
No I did not see “truth” and have no intention on seeing it, let me repeat in case you missed it. Global warming is a complete scam.
Should we be conscious of protecting our environment, sure we should.
But I think it’s disingenuous for the same global warming folks to rant and rave about the environment and how we are destroying the earth to then drive Hummers and other piece of shit cars with mufflers hanging off the back, live in houses where they trash their own living environments, trashing city streets after drunken binges, spray graffiti on sides of buildings and smoke like chimneys in public places because they claim it’s their right to make everyone else around them smell like a fucken ashtray.
Too many damm people are not even capable of controlling their own environment much less this planets.

“you leave out the (relatively well-known) fact that Al Gore supplants all of his energy consumption with carbon offsetting, essentially buying carbon consumption credits…”
Yeah, Snoop, don’t you know Gore buys lots of Granola Indulgences? Just think of Luther and his 95 Theses. Rather than buying masses to reduce the punishment due for his sinful life, he’s buying “carbon offsets” to reduce the punishment due for his sinful “carbon footprint.” Gore needs to make up a better religion. That one’s been tried before.
Seriously, Chris, do you truly believe that we could ALL use 10x the amount of energy in our homes that we currently do and make up for it by planting trees? If the answer is no, then Gore’s a hypocrite. If the answer is yes, then most of the things Gore tells us to do are out the window, because all we need to do is plant trees to save the earth.
Buy stock in Wayerhauser, baby!

Or put another way:
Assertion: The average American uses 10 times the energy of the average person in the world.
Leftist response: Americans need to conserve energy, shut down pollutive industries (e.g. coal plants) and change their whole culture to use far less than they do today.
Assertion: Al Gore uses 10 times the energy of the Average American.
Leftist response: That’s OK, because Al Gore plants lots of trees.
Is there a problem here?
