Dennis Kucinich, laughter ensues…

I’m doing more scanning in the blogsphere today than normal, calm day.
I started to see a bunch of posts about Dennis Kucinich and I’m wondering why I’m seeing so much chatter about this nutty dude.
I read a number of far left leaning sites praising this dude like he was some sort of spiritual guru.
I’m reading some takes on blogs and I could not help laughing at these people, I’m like what the fuck would motivate someone to take this wacko seriously, especially for president.
He is the white equivalent of Al Sharpton, but I bet he smokes more weed than Sharpton.

For the hell of it I put together some 411 on dude and added this You Tube clip of him basically saying that Bush blew up the towers and flooded New Orleans.

You Kucinich supporters need to stop smoking that crack, that shit ain’t good for ya!

Rhetoric that can only be seen at Berkeley or at Woodstock now has hit the national scene politically and it is sticking with some.

“The energy of the stars becomes us. We become the energy of the stars. Stardust and spirit unite, and we begin: One with the universe. Whole and holy. From one source, endless creative energy, bursting forth, kinetic, elemental. We, the earth, air, water, and fire source of nearly 15 billion years of cosmic spiraling” (remarks to Praxis Peace Institute, June 9, 2002).

Yes, this is the man who wants to be president of the United States of America.

This from Kos  - “Department of Peace“?

We can conceive of peace as not simply the absence of violence but the presence of the capacity for a higher evolution of human awareness, of respect, trust, and integrity. We can conceive of peace as a tool to tap the infinite capabilities of humanity to transform consciousness and conditions that impel or compel violence at a personal, group, or national level toward creating understanding, compassion, and love. We can bring forth new understandings where peace, not war, becomes inevitable. We can move from wars to end all wars to peace to end all wars.

Citizens across the United States are now uniting in a great cause to establish a Department of Peace, seeking nothing less than the transformation of our society, to make nonviolence an organizing principle, to make war archaic through creating a paradigm shift in our culture for human development for economic and political justice and for violence control.

“Higher evolution of human awareness”? “Transform consciousness”? “Paradign shift”? What the hell is this crap? I expect this kind of crap out of Deepak Chopra (or Tom Cruise), not a serious presidential candidate.

And by the way, the “Department of Peace” already exists. It’s called the “U.S. Department of State”.

Despite poll numbers and a war chest that top only Carol Moseley-Braun and Al Sharpton, Kucinich has become a symbolic candidate, offering ideas in favor of universal health care, ending the Patriot Act and ending the privatization of Social Security. Through these ideas, Kucinich has developed himself as the candidate that stands opposed to big business.

The results of these actions have been very costly.

In 1977, at the tender of age of 31, Kucinich was elected Mayor of Cleveland. This victory resulted in the largest municipal default since the Great Depression, all due to a refusal to privatize the city power plant.

He has since spent 15 years rebuilding his career while serving as both a TV reporter and an educator. The result of this career reconstruction was a 1996 return to politics, winning a seat in the House of Representatives and serving for three subsequent terms. Now imagine him with a population some 570 times larger.

Kucinich’s suicidal fiscal policy combined with his inconsistent set of views could lead to a nation in grave indecision under a Kucinich administration. Kucinich has reversed his views on abortion seemingly on a dime. As recently as May 2002 he was considered to be solidly pro-life; now he stands ardently pro-choice, not as though he needed to shift left.

Don’t think Kucinich stopped here - his record of far-left voting says it all. Kooky Kucinich voted multiple times against tax relief for all citizens, and even against relief for married couples, all while still vowing to significantly cut defense spending in an era of terror.

Yet, fiscal issues represent just one toppled car on the liberal train wreck that is Kucinich. His extreme views on social issues, including full support of affirmative action programs, standing in favor of gay marriage, and supporting special rights for gays all equal a change America should fear; luckily, Kucinich doesn’t have a chance unless the electorate gets brainwashed or goes brain-dead.

Kucinich is not just crazy - he can also just be a flat out weird guy. This stems from a belief that the three big keys in civilization are polka, beer and kielbasa. He even sports a website with that same name on his House website with killer links to great recipes and music.

Kucinich also professes a belief that “we can make of this world a gift of peace which will confirm the presence of universal spirit in our lives. We can send into the future the gift which will protect our children from fear, from harm, from destruction,” said Kucinich in a campaign website piece. Kucinich stands to leave America less secure to the peril of terrorism.

No, we won’t have to worry about this platform ever seeing the White House, but still, Dennis Kucinich, 44th President is a scary thought.
