MSM SAYS, YOUR BLOG SUCKS! News at 11:00!
Joe Rago of the Wall Street Journal has this column bashing the blogosphere.
Here is a sample.
The blogs are not as significant as their self-endeared curators would like to think. Journalism requires journalists, who are at least fitfully confronting the digital age. The bloggers, for their part, produce minimal reportage. Instead, they ride along with the MSM like remora fish on the bellies of sharks, picking at the scraps.

I’m seeing more and more mainstream media bashing of the blogs and I find it amusing.
But all of this anger and angst against bloggers stems from one major thing. DOLLARS AND JOB SECURITY.
The more credibility blogs are given as a literary source of news and information the more pissed off these shitty journalists will be.
I am not a “serious” blogger, in the sense that I am this wannabe journalist and write a bunch of original stuff for public consumption.
I see my blog as a bridge, I recycle some news stuff that interest me and pass the interest on to others and sometimes adding my own two cents to what I have read.
I leave it up to some of the people on my sidebar, the more serious bloggers to come up with the original material worthy of placing it on my very own little bulletin board.
I love blogs, (on the left and right and some in between) some are more interesting than others, many are silly and some are boring, hell some blog snobs may put PPP in both categories, but I don’t care.
But I for one strongly encourage blogging, when I read blogs I get a sense of individuality and insight into the person.
If you like cooking, theater, music, goth stuff, business whatever there is a group of people with the same interests
Now me, I doubt there are that many 40 something, black conservative bloggers with my particular take on society. I’m a bit weird, but more than that I am brutally honest with my opinions and I have no problem sharing them.
My only focus is to show people who visit that this particular black individual takes on things is different that what most whites may think they should be for the typical black dude.
Let’s face it, how many black folks are there in the media and on the talking head shows?
We are not in newsrooms, on TV, we don’t own networks so if you wanted to get a black persons perspective ON ANYTHING just where would you get it?
Thomas Sowell is one of the countries greatest conservative thinkers. You have other blacks like Deborah Dickerson, Walter Williams, Shelby Steele, Larry Elder who many have never heard of, far smarter and infinitely more brilliant than just about anybody Chris Matthews would have on his show for example.
Without blogs and other web sources the MSM would still be successfully keeping these folks out of sight and out of mind.
When I read news sources I know I am not getting the entire story, blogging and bloggers make up that gap, particularly as it applies to political issues.
Journalists also believe they have the monopoly on the truth which is frankly laughable.
Bottom line to all of this is, the more I see these anti-blog articles I simply smile and laugh.
These journalists are fighting to remain relevant, hence the venom.
Just think how terrified you would be to have thousands, heck millions of folks potentially auditioning for your livelihood.
Remember the old NFL dissing the upstart AFL.
There are a lot of journalists who are losing opportunities to some of these bloggers, particularly in the political arena.
That can’t make them very happy.
