Can any self-respecting black honestly say that blacks have benefited exponentially under democratic leadership anywhere anytime, benefited enough to automatically extend their reign with no questions asked?

Democrats in general have successfully forwarded their centrists agenda quietly, while still convincing the average uneducated and or unassuming black individual that republicans are mean and racists. Democrats particularly under the Clinton administration; ended welfare as we know it, locked up droves of black men, ordered stiffer sentencing for lighter crimes and subtly moved the public discourse away from its previous attention to racial discrimination.
If any republican administration had done these things, blacks would have been in an uproar. But because a Democratic administration did them, blacks could only manage a whimper and, before too long, forgiveness.

Black leadership (those in the know) throughout this country benefit from black ignorance and or ambivalence. They take great advantage or the barrage of jokes emanating from stand up comedians, black entertainers about those mean racists republicans.

Many blacks honestly believe that Clinton is the closest thing we ever had to a black president. As long as a white man has a (D) after his name instead of an (R) many blacks can see no evil. Because any democrat has that magical letter after their names, many, like parrots, repeat the (prosperity) song ad nauseum, that somehow blacks are better off economically than they ever have been.

During the Clinton administration, Democrats claimed that the black unemployment rate is at its lowest level in history, somewhere around 7.9 per cent. What they neglect to tell their cheering black audiences is that if increased black incarcerations during their administration are taken into account, the black unemployment rate moves back up to nearly 10 per cent.

Instead of clapping so loudly, blacks should ask what good are a few more jobs paying $8 to $10 an hour if more and more blacks — men and, increasingly, women — are filling jail cells?

How much longer can blacks allow Democrats to earn their votes just by pointing out that the Republican Party does not care about the black electorate? Dissing the Republican Party and Congress may produce great applause but doesn�t do anything to solve black poverty and a failing criminal justice system.

Very simply people if black want to have more influence in the political system in this country blacks in mass should not declare a party affiliate.
Basically folks the confederate flag and the white sheets run parallel to both political parties. Blacks must make their votes available to both political parties and even a third.
The stereotypical dissing of republicans is paid political fodder for democrats. I always wondered whether those entertainers in front of the camera were paid to deliver clever racists republican quips in monologues.

The last time you were addressed as nigger, boy, starred down in a department store, harassed by a policeman, denied a job opportunity were those individuals wearing Republican National Committee buttons or ribbons? Can you really tell racists by party affiliation?

Take notes from the growing Latino population. Latino leadership does not advocate the across the board one party rant. They focus on individual candidates and issues.
The D and the R has never meant less as it does today.

The growing popularity of televised poker should provide a lesson for the black population. As these candidates campaign on both sides of the political spectrum we should maintain a poker face and force these individuals hand to provide the needed result to help black achieve in this society.

When was a gay required to give up their seat on a bus to a straight person? Who was the gay Rosa Parks? Were gays at the bottom of the economic social structure for decades? Where were the poor gay ghettos? When have gays gotten worse jobs and lower pay than straight people? When were there separate-but-equal schools for gays and straights?***

**Black civil rights leaders have also expressed strong condemnation of attempts to hijack the civil rights movement. “We find the gay community’s attempt to tie their pursuit of special rights based on their behavior to the civil rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s abhorrent,” Bishop Andrew Merritt of Straight Gate Ministries and several other Detroit pastors said recently in a statement supporting traditional marriage. “Being black is not a lifestyle choice.”**

This comparison of the two issues has pissed me off since my days growing up in the Bay Area and the �were here, were queer� chants in the Gay rights parades in San Francisco.
Blacks during the civil rights era did not go down the street half naked, grabbing each others ass, wearing feathers, leather straps and other shit.
Part of gaining respect of mainstream society is to earn respect not to rub your lifestyle in the faces of the general public. AND high jacking the civil right era to make your case is not a smart strategy. If in 2008 the left continues to make the civil rights comparison more and more blacks will certainly lean more towards the Republican Party. You democrats know very well that if you lose what was a guaranteed base of support in the black vote your screwed.

Snoop does not agree with the current Supreme Court decision concerning Eminent Domain. The decision was simply wrong. If you are a property owner and your property is a piece of shit and an eyesore to the community, if you want more sympathy from the average Joe then either do something constructive with your property or at the very least clean it the fuck up!
If your city or town pulls this shit and you do not agree then vote the bastards out of office, plain and simple.
BUT people do not have the right to have a shitty eyesore piece of property that hinders the land value of others around it.

First let me peep you on something, I’m not a wannabe journalist I have a great job at a prominent facility on the University of Kansas Campus in Lawrence, Kansas.
I don’t aspire to write a book, or be in the New York Times. I have been active in my community and I have been someone on the forefront of changing peoples lives.
I write my blog because it fun and entertaining. But I also write it because as a conservative republican I love telling democratic liberal lap dogs to fuck off and stop screwing black folks around. Feel free to visit and since you think blogs are so fucked up and useless I’ll be sure to feature your insightful opinions on my pages. Feel free to comment.

But remember one thing, in case you forgot. This is America, we are free to spend out time reading about some fictional white boy Harry Potter or the rants of some right wing Negro from Kansas. But a word from the wise: don’t ever send me an email with such language. If you don’t know how to communicate without cursing, don’t even bother. If I want to hear someone curse, I’ll check out Chris Rock, who is likely a lot funnier than you.

We live in a world where people can communicate. And if they choose to by blogging, go right ahead. But I don’t have to read them and if I choose to use the same freedom of speech that you want to use, then I can write about whatever I want.

In the early 1940’s, when Byrd was approximately 24 years old, he joined the Ku Klux Klan, which he had seen holding parades in Matoaka, West Virginia as a child, his father having been among the hooded marchers. As a Kleagle of the organization he “recruited 150 of his friends and associates to form a chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. After Byrd had collected the $10 joining fee and $3 charge for a robe and hood from every applicant, the Grand Dragon Joel L. Baskin for the mid-Atlantic states came down to tiny Crab Orchard, W.Va., to officially organize the chapter…”When it came time to choose the Exalted Cyclops, the top officer in the local Klan unit, Byrd won unanimously

Byrd, in his autobiography, attributed the beginnings of his political career to this incident, though he lamented that they involved the Klan. According to Byrd’s recollection, Baskin told him “You have a talent for leadership, Bob…The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation.” Byrd recalls that (Suddenly lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my abilities. I was only 23 or 24, and the thought of a political career had never struck me. But strike me that night, it did.)

It was a common Klan practice to use frightening sounding titles for its officials based upon the group’s belief that African Americans were especially superstitious and would be intimidated by the names alone, as well as by the garb, symbols and violence of the organization.

He participated in the KKK for a period of time during World War II, holding the titles (Kleagle), which indicated a Klan recruiter, and “Exalted Cyclops.” Byrd, did not serve in the military during the war, working instead as a welder in a Baltimore shipyard, assembling warships.

Though Byrd did not serve himself, he commented on the 1945 controversy raging over the idea of racially integrating the military. In his book When Jim Crow Met John Bull, Graham Smith referred to a letter written that year by Byrd, when he 28 years old, to racist Senator Theodore Bilbo of Mississippi, in which Byrd vowed never to fight, (with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.)

CHICAGO (AP) _ Sen. Barack Obama sees parallels between former President Abraham Lincoln’s life and his own, but he says the 16th U.S. president credited with freeing U.S. slaves might not have envisioned a black man occupying the seat he now holds.

Obama, who occupies the U.S. Senate seat from Illinois that Lincoln lost to Stephen Douglas in 1858, wrote about how Lincoln shaped his life in an upcoming special issue of Time magazine.

Obama, the son of a Kenyan father and American mother who is just the fifth black senator in U.S. history, also raised questions about Lincoln’s role in ending slavery.

“I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator,” Obama said. “As a law professor and civil rights lawyer and as an African-American, I am fully aware of his limited views on race. Anyone who actually reads the Emancipation Proclamation knows it was more a military document than a clarion call for justice.”

And as for what Lincoln may have thought about Obama’s election to the Senate in 2004?

“He may not have dreamed of that exact outcome. But I like to believe he would have appreciated the irony,” Obama said.

After recently taking a trip to the Ozarks I came across a disturbingly high volume of really ugly females. I think living in Lawrence has spoiled me. Being a college town with a younger population despite not being on one of the coasts we have a fair amount of attractive females.
But in some of the towns we passed through in Southern Missouri south of Springfield you could not swing a dead cat without running into women who frankly looked like a bad science experiment gone terrible wrong.
There is a reason why you should not shack up with your cousin folks.

Websites who devote themselves to attacking the above statements certainly say things like:

�attractive looking people get more promotions, higher salaries and even better grades in school.�

I know most white people could care less except for liberals who see their long standing base eroding as blacks become increasingly aware of “the other political party”.
I have said for years and could never understand why blacks voted exclusively democratic. As faith based issues seem to continue to be at the forefront of right wing agendas blacks are waking up and embracing their core values.
Thus black people can no longer be looked upon as monolithic. Bush has quietly made very big strides by getting funds to faith-based organizations because the Republicans have discovered that the black churches are ready to do serious work particularly in “their” communities.
The old style process of the black church being the core of the community, and the republicans have discovered it can work to their advantage.
Republicans have discovered that the morality trumpeted by the evangelical who were so important to their victories in November is shared by the black church community, which has always been conservative on issues regarding personal conduct.
Blacks may have voted for Democratic presidential candidates in the past, chiefly because it was the party that trumpeted an end to racial segregation and discrimination, in words but not in action. However the chief reason was the democratic party was/is the party willing to commit to larger welfare packages.
The Democrats may be on the verge of losing a significant portion of the black vote in the next election. Recall that many Americans voted for the Democrats not because they loved Kerry, but as a result of their disdain for Bush.
Republicans have succeeded in making high political appointments that seem to be free of any racial glue and actually recognize the individual rather than color or sex,
It is odd to see Democratic party chairman Howard Dean in his colorful attacks using terms like “White Mans Club” to describe republicans. It shows the desperation of democrats to use the tactics of the “fear” of racism to win votes. Dean who is from Vermont? I think….. with a 1% black population and under his administration had NO blacks. This is the leader of the Democratic party?

Ah, I just love to read editorials like the one below. They are if nothing entertaining.

Nothing excites people more than visits from celebrities making rounds. Over a week ago, it was Bill Cosby’s brief visit to the hood’. This week it was Oprah Winfrey. Notice I said Oprah without the hood’. That’s because Oprah came to Dallas with her own message and to hang out with her main fan base – White women and Bourgeois “Afristocratic” Black women who have denied the race (like Oprah) and convinced themselves they are no longer African Americans. The tour of self-help seminar was entitled “Live Your Best Life.” It is embarrassing to see these Black women flock to see “Queen Oprah” and pay $185 just to be in the same room with a woman who really has not been an African American for years. Oprah Winfrey is a classic example of how some Blacks can grow up poor, hard and navigate the obstacles of racism, discrimination and a dysfunctional family and not use it as a beacon to reach back, lead and pull up her people. She has forgotten where she came from and walks a fine tightrope with supporters. She also tiptoes around the hood’ and other key issues affecting the Black community. Like Cosby, Oprah uses her money and influence to promote herself and a few “pet” causes and thinks it’s enough to lift the Black race out of its present state. Granted, occasionally, Ms. Winfrey makes a few “politically safe,” but weak attempts to identify with her Blackness by making a few African American films about Black people, but for the most part, she does not want to be fully associated with Black America. At the Dallas Convention Center, she was in her element – far, far, far away from the dangerous hoods’ and public housing complexes in Dallas-Fort Worth, where the only visits she makes in those neighborhoods are on 20-32-inch television screens Monday through Friday. Cosby brought his message to the hood, but failed because he spoke to whites and middle class Blacks. He did not speak directly with the very people he criticizes and while in the South Dallas hood, did he make strides to get out and meet anyone there. Neither Oprah Winfrey nor Bill Cosby feel, understand or represent us as messengers of truth about the pains Black men and women face today in Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas or America. I am convinced neither is genuinely interested in the conditions, situations, troubles and challenges Blacks are exposed to on a daily basis. Racism, unemployment, lack of opportunity, raising children in single parent households, poor wages, the lack of health insurance, closed economic doors and glass ceilings in workplaces and an abusive criminal justice system are very real issues for Blacks today.
A segment still exists on Americans not wanting Blacks to move forward with their own hospitals, banks and business districts, or make progress enough for each of us to prosper, become more independent or have money. Much of it has been sabotaged by the best efforts of our enemies to hold and keep us down from reaching our full potential as a race.
Dreams and equality are just buzzwords having little sparkle among African Americans struggling each day to overcome and find ways to make ends meet and survive nightmare after nightmare of assaults on our psyche as a people. According to Oprah, her success comes from personal desire, overcoming adversity and an undying passion to fulfill goals and dreams. The real truth is, White folks like Oprah, and it boosts her marketability as a plantation princess and helps the rich sell whatever she promotes. She can have “her cake and eat it too,” until upsetting “her economy” or saying or doing something to make rich people pull away or consider her a risk to capital hungry American businesses. You can also tell how black she is by the people surrounding her. It’s not us!!! Oprah’s tour and lifestyle are nothing more than a testimony of pompous excesses and an exercise in self promotion failing to do nothing more than intoxicate and mesmerize women into a stupor of ignorant chants and incites a frenzy of foolish outstretched hands reaching out to touch what they believe is some kind of God.
Just like Cosby, Oprah missed her best chance to hear, know and make a difference with Black women living in the hoods’ across the Metroplex.
She knew many poor Black women did not have $185 and could not compete with hordes of selfish, spoiled, greedy, lavish snobs attending her pep rally. Those hurting and struggling in the hood’ are still alone and must continue to fight their battles alone without the support or visibility Oprah could have brought to their plight. Oprah missed another opportunity to reach out to the hood’ and ignored the fact many of these same poor women and single mothers watch her show.
They would have loved to know “Oprah the Great” cared about them enough to grant them some kind of audience or would not mind pausing a moment away from her fancy expensive shopping habits, rich friends, glitzy lifestyle and listen, motivate and encourage them by offering positive words directly to them. Oprah and Cosby are fully unaware of the true struggles of being Black in America today. We cannot “live our best lives” until the pendulum of fairness, opportunity and finances swings more evenly toward Blacks. The fact Oprah and Cosby have made it and got their “cheddar” has blinded them to the truth there remains a segment of Americans using us to build this country, make this economy great and now despises us and has all but written us off in favor of the “new negroes” (Hispanics). Many of us will have to “live our best lives” without help from Uncle Sam, Cosby or Oprah. It is not enough to be a famous personality making an appearance or giving your money to Black causes. Identify with us… Stand with Us …Vocalize it and be Proud of it … and you know what I mean…

Where did they go? I’m not talking about arcane or silly rituals. I’m referring to classic ways of behaving that take very little effort, but go a long ways in keeping the wheels of civility smoothly rolling.

Almost every day I witness someone being rude or acting like their fellow human beings are a burden to them and the world. Almost every day I speak with someone who cannot stand the majority of their fellow humans. And almost every day I hear exchanges that violate the good old fashioned manners my mama taught me.

A few examples -

When someone tells you “Thank you”, what do you respond? If you said “Thank you.” go to the back of the class. The correct answer and response is “You are welcome.” But if you didn’t know that, or don’t respond that way, you are among the majority. Listen to interviews on news programs. I have been listening for years, to no avail. Even if someone does say “you’re welcome” they always (not almost always, but always) add “thank you” to it. The proper response of “You’re welcome” is not archaic and without meaning. Responding “you are welcome” means that the other person’s thanks is acknowledged as valued and accepted. The return “Thank You” makes the exchange into a mini Chip & Dale routine. “Thank you.” “No, thank you” “Oh, no thank YOU.” Etc. Ad nauseam. I know - it’s a small thing, But it irritates me.

How about your manners on the phone. My parent’s taught me to answer the phone “S…….. residence, T….. speaking”. To which the person on the other end was supposed to answer, “Hello T. This is……” Once identities were established, the conversation or request could commence with all parties knowing exactly to whom they were speaking. In this day and age of caller ID, the person answering the phone often has a pretty good idea of who is calling. But that doesn’t mean the caller has a clue who they reached. However, it is now an extremely rare thing for someone to identify themself, on either end of the conversation. I don’t know about you, but I don’t always recognize people’s voices and it sure would be nice to know (for sure) who I’m speaking to, right from the start. I bet I could pay more attention, right from the start, if I was sure who was on the other end of the line.

These are small, and perhaps petty, observations and complaints. Maybe they don’t really matter to anyone but me. Yet, when I see an increase in the number of people who HATE all other people, who cannot stand to be around fellow human beings, who are surely and rude 24/7…I wonder. Are good manners dead because so many people feel that way, or do these people feel that way because good manners are dead?

Snoop lives in a great town Lawrence, Kansas. But it is close to being the national capitol of liberalism. Douglas County where Lawrence is located and Wyandotte County where Kansas City, Kansas is located were the only two counties to go Democrat during the last election.
However we do have a democrat Governor Kathleen Sebelius. Although I tend to dislike most democrats she is ok. Do not be surprised to hear her name rumored as a possible Vice Presidential running mate in 2008.

TRUE liberals throw money into the ghettos because they dont want the Negros out of the ghetto they just want to make it more comfortable for them.
TRUE liberals believe that dark children learn better when surrounded by pigment challenged individuals. Poor kids SHOULD go to public schools but THEIR kids are entitled to quality education.
TRUE liberals say if Johnny does not know that 2 plus two equals four we should get him to come to grips with his answer of five and make him feel good about it.
People throw out liberal and conservative and we automatically come to basic conclusions about what the heck its suppose to mean.
TRUE liberals will actually have a meeting to discuss the plight of the non-whites in a given community and not invite the very people they are discussing.
TRUE liberals may even have a blog, discussing cultural diversity without asking varried multi-pigmented individuals what they feel is the cultural climate of a given community.
TRUE liberals are far more racists, xenophobic, govern out of pity and are just as class centered than many so called conservatives. Yes that includes the confederate flag waving, gun rack, camouflage, and card carrying NRA, 700 club watching folks.
So the term compassionate liberalism is frankly a frightening term to me.

On my drive to work which is only about ten minutes I scan the radio looking to hear some music ANY MUSIC THAT IS DECENT!
How many times have you done this and you have exhausted the entire radio spectrum in your town. YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT NOT ONE OF YOU FUCK STATIONS CAN BE PLAYING SOMETHING DENCENT!
Keep in mind Snoop has a WIDE range of musical tastes. From hard core Rap, to Metal, to Bluegrass to Jazz, I will even listen to some disco.
But the quality of radio has deteriorated greatly. I mostly listen to talk radio but on occasion I will scan the dial.
Also the radio dial is full from stations out of Topeka, Lawrence and the Kansas City Metro area.
I don’t know how many stations that covers but don’t you think that I would be able to find a station playing SOMETHING I can listen to without having a D.J run HIS OR HER FUCKEN MOUTH!

The Problem: The elimination of regulations that caused the current corporate glut of radio monopolies. Original FCC regulations strictly prohibited these radio monopolies. Owners could not hold more than one or, later, two stations in one market. In addition, the station owner had to be a legal resident of their listening area. As a result, radio stations had more local control, were more competitive with other stations and as a result had much better programming. Each station had its own staff (more jobs and more creative individuals working in the industry) and its own advertising.
Because of the residency and anti-monopoly requirements, only people genuinely interested in the operation of a local radio station would bother to get involved. This meant that the value of a radio station was more like that of a small business. Because of the comparatively low cost to run early stations (essentially just the FCC license, staffing, electricity and the building), they were highly profitable.
In a wide sweeping effort to bolster Big Business, deregulated radio ownership requirements and brought about the audio crap we call modern radio.
When the residency requirement was shelved, we got massive amounts of absentee radio station ownership. Distant media lords looked at numbers and nothing else, so they demanded cuts in spending.
*No more local news departments.
*Few if any locally-produced programs.
The big bosses did not have to listen to the stations, but they did not give a shit.
When the anti-monopoly rules were lifted, they bought up all the stations they could. Because the stations were profitable, their sale value rocketed. With a higher debt load on the stations, it took more profits for an owner to pay off his investors. Guess what that meant? More cuts, more bottom line shit.
Corporations learned that with automation, one D.J. can cover the shifts on two stations, or even three. So they automated everything.
Almost all stations today are located at one building.
The entire reason for having radio regulations at all are the fundamental principle that the airwaves belong to the people of the United States. If we do not want corporate America bastardizing our local stations, we should say so. BUT the reason satellite radio is gaining popularity is the variety of channels. Very few if any commercials!!!! No loudmouth deejays. My biggest pet-peeve about FM radio in its current form. Why do disc Jockeys have to be funny? Morning drive time at times is simply moronic especially when all I really want to hear is music.

My good friend MO is about to peep a job at a local station. I hope she has fun and enjoys the experience. So she need to keep quiet to keep her job. But the rest of you feel free to peep your local station management on Snoops rants. I’m sure they would love to hear from you.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (BP)–Those who thought Bill Cosby’s troubles with allegations of sexual misconduct would curtail his criticism of low-income African Americans have to think again.

In fact, it seems that as of late Cosby has rejuvenated his efforts and has single-handedly taken on what he describes as his “call outs”. He continues to target poor African Americans for their lack of responsibility, and has traveled to 12 cities in the United States spreading his message of personal responsibility.

In an interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Cosby spoke harshly of the low number of poor kids who finish high school, saying, “Nine hundred kids enter many of these high schools, and 35 walk out with diplomas. The rest are in prison, pregnant or wandering around doing nothing.”

Some critics of Bill Cosby have labeled his speaking tour as “Blame the Poor Tour.” The critics believe Cosby’s comments are not only negative stereotypes, but are extremely hurtful to the very poor people he targets. One of the most outspoken critics of Cosby is pop culture intellectual Michael Eric Dyson, who in his book “Is Bill Cosby Right? Or has the Black Middle Class Lost Its Mind?” describes Cosby as a black elite, or what he terms “Afristocrat”. Dyson attempts to explain some of the social factors that contribute to the action of poor blacks.

Moreover Dyson’s critique of Cosby’s own failure at parenting is a blatant attack on Cosby’s character and his ability to rightly challenge the economic disadvantaged. According to Vernon Ford, writer for the Booklist journal of the American Library Association, Dyson’s critique goes so far as to mention “one daughter who fell victim to drug abuse, and another daughter, born of an extramarital affair, whom he supported but later charged with extortion.”

ABC “Nightline” interviewer Michel Martin asked Mr. Cosby if “your own failures of judgment disqualify you from speaking to others.” Cosby dismissed any notion that he was unqualified to address the issue, saying, “I couldn’t care less what you think of me as long as you begin to execute that which will save your children.”

Despite what one thinks of Cosby’s alleged character flaws, the reality is that his statements are more true than not. He is correct when he criticizes children who curse constantly and parents who spend more on athletic shoes than they do on education. Such conduct is unacceptable if at-risk kids are to succeed in American society. These are painful, yet true facts of many poor African American communities.

More attention should be given to what’s being said, instead of who’s saying it. Perhaps the critics could spend less time denouncing the four-time Emmy Award, eight-time Grammy Award and Kennedy Center Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and focus more on solving the real problems facing low-economic African Americans.

Keep the “call outs” going Mr. Cosby!

Liberal public enemy number one, President G Dub Bush I bet has singlehandedly drove more people (liberals) into seeking professional mental health assistance than any president in history. But the funny thing is Bush has little or nothing to do directly with their lives.
For what seems like an eternity liberals have bitched and moaned about the so called rigged Florida ballot to the self described “nameless, faceless victims of sadism and perversion at the Abu Ghraib prison.”
Like you people really care, who are you fucken kidding?

I watched a CSI episode recently where Grissom said the simplest but most profound thing.
It was an episode about a bunch of weirdos were planning for the arrival of alien life forms and or intelligent life from other planets. Grissom basically said to this individual and I’m paraphrasing

Black Racists Single Out A Conservative

When voters in Ohio passed a marriage amendment by a landslide last November, they cracked a wall in the foundation of national leftist politics that its leaders are frantically trying to seal.
Ohio, of course, is the swing state that pushed President Bush over the top on election night. In the wake of the defeat, Democrats railed at Bush, the Republicans, the provisional ballots and even the number of voting machines, convinced that Bush had now stolen a second election from them.
But they have reserved their harshest attacks for someone unknown to most Americans. He is Ohio’s chief election official, the Republican Secretary of State, Kenneth Blackwell. Black leftists find Blackwell particularly dangerous because he’s a socially conservative African American—an evangelical Christian—who is becoming ever more popular with voters.
Typical of the tirades against him was this remarkable statement on the House floor by a black congresswoman, Maxine Waters. She said, “I am ashamed to say [he is] an African-American man who has failed to follow Ohio’s procedures…(O)ur ancestors who died for the right to vote must be turning over in their graves.”
Back in Ohio, Jesse Jackson was railing at Blackwell over the long lines of voters who had to wait at the polls in Columbus, a Democrat stronghold.
What’s so astonishing is the utter lack of evidence to support any of these charges. Ohio’s elections are fully and fairly bipartisan affairs, and none of Michael Moore’s 10 camera crews nor any of the 7,000 lawyers who crawled all over the state could find any scandal. Voting machines are parceled out precisely, one for every 117 registered voters. The local election board chairman in Columbus, the locus of Jackson’s suspicion, is chairman of the county Democrat party. He also happens to be black.
So why the hysterical attacks on Ken Blackwell? It’s the politics of marriage. The Ohio marriage amendment brought out thousands of voters who were determined to affirm marriage and, incidentally, to cast a vote for Bush. Fully 25 percent of Ohio Bush voters on Nov. 2 were evangelical Christians, up from 17 percent in 2000.
And who was the leading voice for marriage and the marriage amendment in the Ohio campaign? Ken Blackwell. By taking on the marriage issue, his reputation grew, and he’s carrying black voters to the Republican side. The Ohio black vote for Bush in 2004 more than doubled from four years ago, up from 8 percent to 17 percent. This is considered intolerable in the party of tolerance, and that is why Blackwell is in the crosshairs of Maxine Watters and Jesse Jackson.
And for them it gets even worse. Next year the Ohio governor’s office will be open, and the leader in the polls is—Ken Blackwell, vaulted ahead by his strong stand for marriage and Ohio’s well-managed election. Presently there is not a single black Republican among the nation’s governors or members of Congress. Black left-wingers want to keep that record unblemished by the socially conservative Ken Blackwell, because if he becomes governor in the significant swing state of Ohio, who can predict what’s next for him?
We must call this bile against Blackwell what it is—racism, and it’s no less ugly when it’s practiced by blacks rather than by whites. The last time the country saw racism this naked was in the battle to keep Clarence Thomas off the Supreme Court. Blackwell, like Thomas, risks political lynching because he has strayed from the plantation of liberal black politics and espouses socially conservative ideas, like traditional marriage.
How significant that the issue of marriage cracked a wall in the plantation house of left-wing ideas.

Instead of ranting an calling people names and telling them how stupid, pathetic, ignorant, dim witted, moronic, lame brained, crossed eyes, strung out, hopeless………they are for not knowing various traffic rules I though I would post one often overlooked traffic rule that people are not familiar with.
THE LEFT TURN CENTER LANE.

Read carefully folks, you too can prevent road rage.

Two-Way Left Turn Centre Lanes (also called Centre Left Turn Lanes)
Many main roads in towns in the USA and Canada have five lanes. There are two lanes in each direction plus a two-way centre lane which is reserved for use by vehicles turning left.
Two-way left turn centre lanes, also called centre left turn lanes, have solid and broken yellow lines on both sides, solid on the outside and broken on the inside. In addition they have pairs of white curved arrows on their road surface, showing the paths of two vehicles turning left in front of each other.

Two-way left turn centre lanes are also indicated by the road sign “Centre Lane For Left Turns Only”. This sign always has a pair of curved arrows showing the paths of two vehicles turning left in front of each other. In one version of the sign the wording “Centre Lane” appears above the arrows and the word “Only” appears below. In the other version of the sign only the word “Only” appears below the arrows.

When a road has a two-way left turn lane, left turns are not allowed from other lanes.

Two-way left turn centre lanes must not be used for any other purpose, such as overtaking. According to the California Driver Handbook 2002 (external link verified Jul-02) you are limited to driving for about 200 feet in these lanes but the law in other states may be different.

Two-way centre lanes can be used for vehicles making left turns from a five-lane road, or into it.

When turning left into a driveway from a road with a two-way left turn centre lane, check for other vehicles, signal and enter the centre lane completely (do not leave any part of your vehicle straddling a normal lane). It is perfectly legal to stop and wait in the centre lane until a gap in the traffic allows you to complete the left turn.

When turning left from a driveway into a road with a two-way left turn centre lane, when the road is clear from the left make a left turn so as to completely enter the centre lane and pull along a short distance so as to avoid blocking other vehicles turning into the driveway. Then stop in the centre lane and wait until it is safe to pull right into the outer normal lane in the direction you wish to travel. On a busy road with fast traffic this is a highly dangerous maneuver. You often need to accelerate quickly to match the speed of the other traffic.

Marriage laws have evolved through centuries of experience with couples of opposite sexes and the children that result from such unions. Society asserts its stake in the decisions made by restricting the couples’ options.
Like it or not, with gay couples society has no such stake in the outcome of a union between two people of the same sex. Transferring all those laws to same-sex couples would make no more sense than transferring the rules of baseball to football.
Why would gay activists want their options restricted by marriage laws, when they can make their own contracts with their own provisions and hold whatever kinds of ceremony they want to celebrate it?
The issue is not individual rights. What the activists are seeking is OFFICIAL social approval of their lifestyle. But this is the antithesis of equal rights.
If you have a right to someone else’s approval, then they do not have a right to their own opinions and values. You cannot say that what “consenting adults” do in private is nobody else’s business and then turn around and say that others are bound to put their seal of approval on it.
Sorry people no stamp of approval, throwing out the bigot chants AGAIN isn’t helping.

During the elections Senator John Kerry, in a speech about education to a predominantly black audience, said that there are more blacks in prison than in college. “That’s unacceptable, but it’s not their fault” he said. Do you think Kerry would also say that white inmates are also faultless? Aside from Kerry being factually wrong about the black prison versus college population, his vision differs little from one that holds that blacks are a rudderless, victimized people who cannot control their destiny and our best hope depends upon the benevolence of white people.

Have you watched some white politicians talking to black audiences? It’s bad enough to watch the Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do an imitation of Flip Wilson’s Reverend Leroy. But to watch individuals like Gore Clinton do it is insulting in the least. They don’t talk to white audiences that way. As a matter of fact Sharpton and Jackson don’t talk to white audiences that way either - talking about going from the outhouse to the White House and from disgrace to amazing grace and other such nonsense. By the way, after addressing the NAACP’s 95th annual convention in Philadelphia, Kerry gave the audience the black power clenched fist salute. I wonder whether his white audiences get the black power salute as well.

When President Bush gave a speech to the National Urban League. Unlike so many other white politicians speaking before predominantly black audiences Bush didn’t bother to pander and supplicate. He spoke of educational accountability and school choice and condemned high taxes, increased regulation and predatory lawsuits. He defended the institution of marriage. He didn’t see blacks as victims in need of a paternalistic government to come to our rescue. He saw blacks needing what every American needs - an environment where there’s rule of law, limited government and equality before the law. The most important question President Bush left with the audience was whether blacks should give the Democratic party a monopoly over their vote and take their votes for granted.

Senator Kerry and others have criticized Bush for snubbing the NAACP convention. Here’s my question to you. If you were president would you speak before a group whose president, Kweisi Mfume, said, “We have a president that’s prepared to take us back to the days of Jim Crow segregation and dominance.” or whose chairman, Julian Bond, who said, “[President Bush] has appeased the wretched appetites of the extreme right wing and has chosen cabinet officials whose devotion to the Confederacy is nearly canine in its uncritical affection.”?

Talk about utter stupidity.

Thank goodness Confederate History Month is over! Maybe Civil Rights organizations, black politicians and journalists will stop whining for awhile. They must pay the Sons of Confederate Veterans on the side. Fat, middle-aged suburbanites waving Confederate flags create excuses for hysterical screaming. Ironically, the volume and shrillness of attacking Confederate heritage is inversely proportional to the actual racism and threat to personal safety. But, it’s profitable if you’re a race pimp. When your skin color is your day job, you need something to cry ‘wolf’ about. The professionally-black Blacks, whose jobs are based on ‘African-American’ in their titles, are working a decades-old scam that is a shame to the Nation. The racial politics of these Judas goats keep millions of Blacks in poverty, jail, pain and suffering. Despite them, the majority of Blacks are only one generation from earning their piece of the American pie. A significant minority of Blacks are succeeding equally and above other Americans. These are hard-working people who achieve color-blind success. Which is precisely the point: The way up has nothing to do with race. The way to succeed in America works for immigrants who don’t speak English, aren’t White, and don’t have a penny to their name when they arrive. But, it takes a generation. The parents sacrifice and provide for the children to have abundant opportunities. There are ‘7 Steps’ from whining to winning. 1. Get married before the baby arrives. 2. Stay married and raise your children. 3. Don’t use drugs or abuse alcohol. 4. Push educational achievement without excuses. 5. Master the English language. 6. Choose American, not a separate identity, like African-America. 7. Live a purpose-driven life from the Bible. Whites who fail these seven steps will grow mullets, trash their lives and stay losers. Hispanics who fail have activists to make excuses and demand programs – meaning government jobs for the program workers – to spend tax dollars. Blacks who fail have a well-established special interest industry to serve themselves at poor Blacks’ expense. Coming out of ghetto poverty for the race industry would be like real tax reform to tax lawyers. Jesse Jackson would have to get a real job. The seven steps to a better life in America don’t have the land mines in the path that Blacks leaped over in the past. When Booker T. Washington and his students built Tuskegee with their bare hands, they made the brick kiln five times before it worked properly. They didn’t whine. Blacks came up from slavery further and faster, with a dignity and class under real duress, that is unfathomable to the ‘hip hop gangsta’s’ culture. Blacks, still living today, overcame barriers that no Black child faces now. Yet, the rhetoric of race is elevated and pervasive. The underlying messages are perverse and destructive. Racial integration is a morally superior and ascendant idea for America. Yet, racial quotas – by any disingenuous name, race-based programs, awards and organizations are anathema to integration. They promote Black, Hispanic, Asian, Indian, whatever racism. That is why good-hearted people would go nuts if any quota, program, award or organization had the qualifying adjective ‘White’ in its name. Look at the outrage on college campuses when Conservative students have a race-based cookie sale. The hypocrisy would be funny if the potential outcomes weren’t so sinister. White racism is vanishing, especially in the South. (Send a memo to Liberals). Southern dynamism is increasingly Evangelical Christian over a regional identity-based nationalism. Human hearts were transformed to a higher standard than racial reconciliation – to loving-kindness. Meanwhile, the same Democrat Party that exploited race mongering with Whites plays race-based politics using Blacks – and reaches for other minorities. The hateful refrain of permanent victim hood and grievance creates problems. Black racism and Black-on-White hate crimes are increasing. There is no excuse for defeat and decline among people whose ancestors and peers have accomplished so much since 1619 – every step of the American Experience. New immigrants joining the Great Experiment give their children ‘American’ first names. The exceptions are Muslims who don’t intend to integrate and some Hispanics whose numbers are so great they don’t have to leave an insular sub-culture. Blacks who invent alien names keep it ‘real’ with the neighbors, but make it obvious they are separate. Separateness doesn’t produce victory in life. Search any field of endeavor for greatness and see Black Americans. Like politics: Who is more articulate than Thomas Sowell, Alan Keyes, Walter Williams, Ward Connerly, J.C. Watts, Colin Powell and Condileeza Rice? Are they whining while Black?
